Terrible. They eventually snaked the iron out of the pipe. I later found, while I was upstairs that he turned off the hot water heater as well as my toilet wouldn't flush. When I opened it, I found he maliciously left a screw driver in there. Although he told me he didn't know why it wasn't working and it wasn't his responsibility. They didn't replace the toilet correctly so both of my toilet s are wobbling and releasing toxic sewer gas. I also have an unnecessary hole in my kitchen where they cut too deep. The walls need to be repainted so now I have to pay hundreds of dollars to replace the wax seals on both of my toilets, and due to John leaving on his construction boots, my tubs are left with footprints and deep gauges from him stepping on sheet rock in the tub which I cannot repair myself.
Description of Work: On 3/29/2017 at 11:54 am, which was supposed to be 7 am, the original guy came out to replace a stack. They quoted me on the phone. He left for approximately two hours while leaving an open hole in my wall. At that point, he didn't do anything but open the hole and look at it. He came back two hours later and replaced some silver putty on the cracked stack instead of replacing it. He said the silver putty was $200 a tube. We later found out that it's actually about $25 a tube. He then decided to order a pizza and eat it on our front steps. He stayed longer eating the pizza and talking to us rather than doing the actual job. He exchanged Facebook info with my fiancee. He told us that the office would contact us in two weeks to see if the pipes were still leaking, and they would put the $2700 credit towards that job. We attempted to contact him approximately two weeks after and he wasn't responding to us. Then he ended up asking my fiancee if he wanted to gamble in Atlantic City rather than talking about the actual job. Eventually, we decided to call the office to ask what was going on with the job because the guy kept telling us that they were going to call us at that point. Eric quoted $3,500 for the job. We asked them if included the credit of $2700, the receptionist, Erica said yes. We asked if she could send us the invoice in email and said it would come in an hour and it never came. I called the office back around 5 pm and was told she was out of the office by Adam. When the second boss came out, We contacted Erica for an estimate in writing. We contacted her several more times to get the estimate in writing and she kept saying that it would be coming within the hour. Several days later, I finally asked Erica why we never received the invoice in writing because we wanted to start the job. She ended up saying that the work on the receipt didn't match what they said and that they'd have a supervisor come out. When the supervisor came out, it approximately a month and a day later. At this point I had two holes in both of my bathrooms that began to smell like sewage for the entire month. The supervisor, John, came out and quoted me $3200 to complete the job. He said they didn't see why they should credit me the $2700 because he said that job was done. I explained to him that the job isn't done, they just put putty on it. That's when he called his boss and told me they would be contacting me later that day once he looked into the situation, then left. I called Adam back the next day because I was never followed up with. They ended up telling me that the receipt that Alex went through said that they already fixed the pipe amongst several other things that he never did. Adam then said to me that he knew he was there for a long time because he followed the GPS that was in the work truck, stating he saw that he was there for several hours. That's when I told him those several hours were spent talking to us and eating a pizza. At that point, Adam then understood the entirety of the situation and said he would come out to look at the job. He saw that Alex didn't do the job and lied. He then apologized this taking over a month to complete and said he'd be calling back with the time he'd be completing the work without charging anything extra. He then informed me Alex put down that I only payed $2300 rather than the $2700, which the boss finally saw for himself after a month. On 4/28/2017, the work finally started. Supervisor John and his son came at 9 am to remove the iron stack and replace the connecting pipes. They then used a saw and a hammer to replace the cast iron stack, which I was told was wrong by an emergency plumber I called during the job which was incorrect. It was construction dust, sheet rock, mud, and dust everywhere, including in the tub. Also, the entire wall and ceiling they were working on was completely discolored with hand prints and construction sediments. After John said work was completed, he ran the water quickly in the bathroom above and I noticed the toilet and tub was starting to overflow. Then when I started to walk towards my tub, he yelled at his son to turn off the water. He then left. I asked the second plumber where he went, also asked to him to call, and he said he couldn't. I then went to my upstairs bathroom and I turned the bathroom back on and my toilet and tub overflowed. John then yelled at me stating that wasn't his responsibility. Although, I had a working tub and toilet beforehand. He then said it was a clog that happened a month before he was ever here. I told him that he cannot leave my house in worse condition that it was when he started. He stated that the issues weren't his responsibility. I then went to the basement to look at the bottom of the pipe that he replaced, which is exposed. Then I observed rushes of water in two different areas of the pipe that he replaced which was rushing into the basement. As a result, certain parts of the ceiling started to break and fall onto the floor. I told him that was unacceptable and he said, "you should be thanking me, I've been her all day." I called the emergency plumber and showed them pictures of everything. He expressed to me that the water was backing up everywhere because of hammering the pipe, which was not the correct way to go about it. This caused the iron to fall into the line. He began to yell at me, became really hostile, and told me he did a good job. My fiancee expressed that this was unacceptable and told him he needed to fix what he did.

F reviews can lead one to dismiss a reviewer as a malcontent, but I assure you they have earned this. In fact, after submitting a negative review, I gave the company another chance to make it right (they wanted the review taken down) and they only performed worse. So to recap: I contacted them to receive an estimate on a ductless AC/Heating system based on their positive reviews on Angie's List. The representative was pleasant, and arranged for a technician to come out on a Saturday, which I appreciated. They provided a four hour window in the morning for the technician to arrive. The technician did not arrive in that window and never called. I called the company to inquire and they said they would get right back to me. An hour later, I called again and received the same response. An hour later, I called again and they said they would send someone out in 15 minutes. An hour later, the technician arrived. The technician was pleasant enough, but he had no idea why he was there. Making matters worse, he had difficulty understanding and communicating in english. Ultimately, he took measurements of every room and said someone would be back with an estimate later that day. They never provided an estimate. I called the following week and was told someone would get back to me. No one did. This played out three more times, each separated by a week. The last time, they said they lost the measurements and would have to send another technician out and start again. This is where my prior review ended. I ultimately decided to give them a second chance, which they jumped at because they saw my prior review. A technician came out on a Saturday, who was friendly and seemed competent. He took a lot of care and time to go through the house, assess the situation, and explain our options. He said he would get me a quote later that day, or at the latest Monday morning. Monday came and went with no quote. I called the office in the early evening, and they said they would get back to me that day. They did not. I called back the following day, and the representative said she (not the technician as he had indicated) was working on my quote. I received the quote that day, but found that it was based on incorrect information and did not include items I was promised. Among other errors, it was based on the incorrect amount of rooms, did not indicate the manufacturer of the units they proposed to use, did not include other items I requested, and did not provide a discount as promised. Also, during the visit the technician recommended that I consider a quote for just AC units, and promised to provide a quote for that along with his quote for AC/heating units. I responded by email to point out the missing items, and then received an email informing me that my understanding was wrong, even though that person was not who came out to the house. The next morning the technician called me to reiterate that I was wrong, and to claim we did not discuss items which we unquestionably did. As he became more and more combative, it became clear to me that this was not the right company, and giving them a second chance was a mistake. I informed him of this fact, and he responded with sarcasm. At bottom, this company can present well, but clearly is incompetent and cannot be trusted with projects. Worse still, they seem to embody the adage "often wrong, never in doubt," which has no place no customer relations.

Mo was a very able, responsive and professional technician who installed our furnace in one day and our new boiler two days later. He patiently answered my many questions, walked me through why we needed two new units (instead of repairing our old ones) and worked well and efficiently. It was painful to have to pay that much money at once for a furnace and a boiler, but Mo made it as positive an experience as it could have been. I am grateful to him and his assistant for their work and professionalism.
Description of Work: My husband, kids and I returned on a frigid evening to discover that not only was our downstairs heat (powered by a furnace) not working, but that our upstairs heat (controlled by a boiler) was also broken. All this on a night when the temperature dipped to 11 degrees without wind chill! We called Advanced the following day, Sunday, and they sent someone out Monday morning. My only complaint is that the technician was supposed to arrive between 9 and 11 and didn't get to the house until 11:15. When you are 7 months pregnant and you and your two-year-old are waiting in a house where the temperature has dipped to 43 degrees, 15 minutes makes a difference!

I first hired APPHC a little over 4 years ago to install my whole home water filtration system and softener. Back then they failed to show up for multiple appointments (no call/no show) after they confirmed the evening before. While I understand emergency come up, I continued to do business with them because the work they did was good. Fast forward 4 years (June 2019), I decided to reach out to them again to install the same system in my new home. Let’s just say I should have learned my lesson from before... looks like nothing has changed in 4 years. It’s now mid July and they have canceled 2 appointments on me already after I’ve taken the day off from work. They didn’t even cancel the night before, but 30 mins after the appointment was scheduled to begin. Each time it’s an emergency popped up. Valentina from the office promised me that she would talk to a supervisor to make sure this wouldn’t happen again and was so sorry for all the inconvenience. She told me that this week (week of 7/15/19) they would make sure someone would come out to do the installation... guess what?!... I received a voicemail yesterday at 1PM stating “it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen this week either”. This company clearly doesn’t respect or value their customers time. I’ve put off work and weekend plans only to be blown off over the last few years by them. I understand a $800 job might not be their most expensive job, but it’s disappointing to see how bad they failed here. It’s also partially my fault for letting it go on this long... but I was hoping they would step up to the plate and make good on their promise this time. Some good news... I reached out to Home Advisor & Angie’s List and was set up with another company. Not only did they take my call the same day, but they had someone come out to give me an estimate and believe it or not, installed the system... all in the same day!! 6 hours from point of contact to job completion!... oh and they came in $100 less on the quote. Lesson learned.

First time home buyers that have run into things we didn't know how to handle. Rather than try to do work just to charge money, they explained what was wrong and in some occasions it was just a couple of minor fixes that they didn't even charge me for. Great service and would definitely recommend!!

I scheduled a time for the plumber to come a week or so in advance. He didn't show up, and the office said there was an emergency call (they apparently had mis-typed my phone number and couldn't reach me). We scheduled a visit for the next day between 9 and 11am, the first appointment of the day. By 11:30 the plumber had not shown up and I had not heard from the company. I cancelled the appointment and will go with a different plumber.
Description of Work: I needed some minor plumbing repairs done - drippy faucet, leaky pipe, etc.

It went well, although I was still charged for $125, so it wasn't clear that what I paid for was just a consult. I didn't pay for them to come here and do anything. In other words, I thought if I paid for one hour that they would work for an hour, but it was just them coming and there was no work done, which is why I didn't use them again. I didn't pay for a Big Deal again and I'm trying a different one now. They came and they said that the deal was only for them to come to my house and that there is a service charge just to come, so any work that they did while they were here (and they weren't even here for more than 45 minutes) they charged me an extra $125. The guys were great. They were very informational. They knew their stuff, so I had no complaints about all of that. I just felt like the Big Deal in that case was really misleading. I would use them again if I had a big job, not for little things. They're very expensive for little things.

Prompt on arrival, but the backup had cleared. Said nothing he could do if there was no backup and that the cause must be outside the house because the running toilet evidenced that my drain could not be clogged. Suggested that I could pay for a video of the drain, minimum $150, to confirm that the backup was not in my drain. Alternatively, I was advised to call the town DPW to determine whether there had been work on sewers in the vicinity which could have caused the backup. I made that call and was advised that there was no work in the vicinity. Of course, the sink backed up again the next day. Technician adjusted the toilet and left. That worked for two days, but the toilet continued to run. I called the office and was told that the technician would return and that there would be no charge for the return visit. An appointment was scheduled but no one showed up. Called the office and was told that the appointment was not on the schedule. Nonsense. Made a second appointment and, again, no show. One more thing ... I also presented a discount coupon from the Angie's List site and technician refused to deduct it, saying it was included in the price. I called a plumber recommended by a friend and he resolved all issues completely in one visit. Disappointing to say the least. I would avoid using this plumber. Why bother relying on Angie's List if the services are this poor?

Did not hire because they never showed up for estimate. We moved into a new house and called for an estimate. We were told that they would be at our home between 4 and 6 that day. We got a call around 5 saying that there was an emergency could they come the next day between 4 and 6. At 7:15 we got a call asking if someone could come at 7:45. We called another provider.

Sam is the one who has come out each time and it was such a relief to have someone out who is reliable. He did a great job and was very professional. We would highly recommend this company .
Description of Work: They put in a new water meter and also fixed a shower leak. They also fixed a leak in another apartment of ours.

Advanced Professional Plumbing was very responsive, professional, polite, on time and most of all very honest. At first I thought my water heater was leaking which had me extremely upset and nervous, but upon arrival the serviceman told me it was just this backflow pipe that was dripping and told me everything was going to be OK. I was very, very happy. He needed to come back later in the day, and it was Sunday, and they he kept his word. He explained everything he needed do and made my anxiety level drop tremendously. I will recommend them to anyone I know that needs plumbing work. Thanks for a great job!
