Custom Stone by Frank

Great, they had the correct stone unlike Home Depot where you see one thing in a showroom but are tried to be given a lower grade. Custom stone by Frank templated, cut, and installed all in a week on very short notice. They are great, I will never use anyone else for stone. Great value, great service, so friendly, too notch quality!

I was very impressed with the whole process from beginning to end.

I wanted to replace my kitchen counter with granite to give the kitchen a facelift. I wanted to use someone local, so I went to Frank's shop in New Jersey. I spoke with Frank Junior, and he said his mother Trish would contact me. I spoke with Trish, who was lovely, and Frank Junior came out to measure the following week. Frank Senior was somewhere down south, doing a sizeable job, so I mostly dealt with Frank Junior. I wanted a yellowish counter, but Frank Senior had sent me a picture of a High End Granite that he could install for our size job. It's called Sainta Celcia and we love it. It was a little more brown, but a better choice for resale value down the road. The following week, his installers came to do the job. They removed the old countertop, and installed the granite, and the rest is history. We are Extremely Happy, and you have to look for the seam to find it. Wow! This was the best renovation experience I have ever had. I picked out the stone on a Monday and it was installed the following Monday. The installers John, Julio and Frank were a pleasure to have in my home. They were courteous and did what needed to be done to get the job done. When they were finished they cleaned up so there was no extra work for me. I asked Frank to recommend someone to install the the tile. John returned the next day to install the backsplash. I was more than pleased with the results. He is a very skilled craftsman. The kitchen looks great.

Ten days before the actual work was done, my wife and I visited Frank's store in Park Ridge where we took a look at various specimens of granite that would match our overall kitchen features. We decided on one and discussed what we needed done. Frank asked us our choice of edging and we chose the double ogee, which I knew was an expensive choice but looked really good. On that day, Frank also put us in touch with Chris at Creative Stone Works (also in Park Ridge), the store where we purchased the tile for our backsplash but that part of the work was separate from Frank's work and is not a part of this review. Frank informed us that he would be replacing our existing sink with a new sink but we would pay for the faucet. The plumbing to reconnect the new faucet was a separate charge and was done by a plumber that routinely worked with Frank. On our first visit, Frank discussed the full cost with us and we agreed on it. A couple of days later, as planned Frank came to measure the template for the counter top and also took the measurements for the backsplash area that would be tiled. We paid him a deposit that would be about 50% of the total cost. The next week, on the day of the placement of the granite countertop, Frank's crew came early and removed the existing countertop and the material that had been the backsplash. Although there had been no signs of wear and tear, the material was taken off quite well. The heavy granite countertop, although in two separate pieces for the two areas took a lot out of his crew but they did a superb job and applied the glue and the necessary grout where the 3 inch granite backsplash meets the countertop. They did a really good job putting the new sink, making sure all the new connections were ready for the plumber, and cleaning the kitchen. Frank arrived about early afternoon to check and ensure everything was handled to our satisfaction. I enjoyed talking with Frank on the details. He assured me the plumber would come and finish the job and he did. The payment was settled. I got to speak with Trish at the store and she was very helpful in relaying our messages to Frank. We are very satisfied and would certainly hire Frank again for a granite countertop.

I visited Frank and Trish and got a price for my job. Frank came by the same day (even though he was busy) to take a template of the job. Within a week, the work was done, at the stated price and the quality was top notch. I would definately recommend them to friends.

I highly recommend Custom Stone By Frank. Small family run company, easy to work with, accommodated my work schedule. Frank came to template the counters on a Tuesday and installed the next Monday. They removed the old kitchen counters, windowsill and backsplash, disconnected (unscrewed) the sink, and replaced my kitchen counters, backsplash and windowsill with granite counters. Gave me a new sink too. I had looked around at several granite yards before I found Custom Stone. I had an idea of what colors I wanted. Trish took me out to look at their granite selection. Found just what I wanted. It was a small job (@38 square feet) in a 65 year old house. The install went well. Replacing anything in an older home leads to surprises. There was a problem with fitting the windowsill. They recut it and came back to install it. No muss, no fuss. I had lined up a plumber who came that afternoon to connect the sink and put in a new faucet. No downtime in the kitchen ? I couldn?t have asked for anything more. Great work for a good price.

Frank should up for the quote on time. Price was reasonable for this very small job. His workers showed up the following week as scheduled and were courteous and clean. Would hire him again.

It went very smoothly. We went to the showroom and looked at many samples of stone. We were guided in our choices by the owner, who answered all our questions. Working through our contractor, we set a date for the installation, which was done in one day. The counter top is very nice, and we are happy with it.

Frank came after we called for the estimate. He was punctual and professional. I dealt with his wife trish in the office and she is a gem. We just bought a house and this was new to us and trish and frank helped us through the entire process. The installation was seamless and the result was perfect. We're very happy with them. FYI. A nice family owned company that does good work. Can't ask for more.

It went excellent. Theyw ere very friendly. They showed up right away. They kept their commitment for the scheduled date. The job had high a very high quality. They followed up with any other requirements that I needed.

We are extremely happy with our new countertops and backsplash.After selecting our slab I went by Frank's shop to go over how it would be cut for our countertops and island. When I mentioned I would be taking off a day to oversee the installation, he volunteered to do the job on Saturday so I would not need to take a day off work.Frank's crew showed up on time and went to work right away. They removed the old counter tops and tile before installing the new granite. The process took just over half a day. They cleaned up as they went through the demolition process so there was minimal dust as a result. Frank's brother John was there as well, so I had the opportunity to meet him and discuss the backsplash.The counters look beautiful. Frank used the nicest part of the slab for the areas that are the most visible. The counters fit precisely like the old ones. The seams are almost invisible. The finish on the countertops is exceptional. I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. I would recommend Frank without hesitation to anyone who is looking for an experienced professional.Shortly after the granite was installed, John from Calabrese Tile & Marble started the backsplash installation. John is the owner of the business and handled the project by himself. It was nice dealing directly with the owner again. John took his time and did a beautiful job on the backsplash. He laid out our options for tile patterns and accents so we could see how it would look before he started the installation. He was very neat it is obvious he takes pride in his work. Clean up was minimal after he finished the job. I would highly recommend John as well.
