Ralph really took us to the cleaners!!!! He insisted that he had to pull the toilet off and check underneath for any leaks. My husband knew what needed fixing and just didn't have the time. He told Ralph what to do, but Ralph insisted on making an appointment with us for a few days later and at a minimum of $2000 to remove/repair the toilet (we cancelled.) In the meantime, he helped himself to discovering a leak in our kitchen faucet - he ran out and supposedly bought a $500 Kohler faucet, nothing fancy, just basic. My husband asked him for the box and the receipt because Kohler faucet's have a lifetime guarantee. Ralph said he didn't have it but would get it and send it to us, which he never did. He then looked under the kitchen sink and said that all our pipes are "pitted" and that we shouldn't even put a finger on them, because they will puncture and cause a flood in our kitchen. He said that they have to be replaced ASAP. Again, we declined and now two years later, we have not had any problems or leakage. Ralph then proceeded to examine all our bathrooms and decided we needed new toilet seats. Since the paint was chipped on the seats, we permitted him to replace them. All in all, he was looking for problems so he could pad his pocket. When he was done, he said we owed him $2000! I asked why so much and he said we got two people (he had some kid with him - maybe an apprentice who did nothing but kept to Ralph's side.) This guy is unethical, takes advantage of senior citizens, and is a crook. I would never use him again! Two years later I'm still kicking myself for not challenging him on the price. And, after Ralph left, my husband went to Home Depot, bought the leaky valve for under $5.00 and repaired it himself.

My wife and I are very satisfied with the services and the new faucet and toilet bowl. Ralph and his assistant were highly professional and courteous to my wife, daughter and me. The sink and toilet are working perfectly.

Ralph Maresca has been a plumber for 36 years, and he is professional and outstanding for his work. The toilet of our one-bedroom unit of a small condo flushed slowly and often did not completely empty the bowl. I used a “snake” by myself to unclog the pipe of the toilet down about 15 feet, but this did not improve flushing. I turned to Angie’s List and selected Mr. Maresca because of his more than 50 excellent reviews of customers. I am extremely pleased with the work. He and one coworker removed the old toilet. A second coworker used a cable to extend and unclog the pipe down about 25 or 30 feet. The old wax ring over the flange needed to be removed, and the flange and nearby tile was cleaned. A new wax seal was installed, and the old toilet was placed back. Mr. Maresca recommended a new water fill valve in the tank, and he installed a new one at my agreement. The toilet now works like a new one. I originally thought that the toilet should be replaced by a new one, but Mr. Maresca saved money for me. He and his crew cleaned the bathroom and left it cleaner than before.

Great experience. Although this was not an emergency situation, we needed the work done quickly. Ralph couldn't have been any nicer or more competent. He answered my phone call right away, and within 24 hours all the problems were fixed. He came out with Peter, and they both worked hard, evaluated the problems and took pride in doing a good job. A third man came out to snake out a drain blockage. They were here for more than a couple of hours, and charged a very reasonable price (labor plus parts) for a few different fixes. Very satisfied. Would use again.

I came to know Mr. Maresca through a recommendation by people I know at a local plumbing supply firm. I called him made an appointment and he was right on time, accompanied by his associate Mr Peter Thomsen. The work I called him for was a faucet in the main bathroom and a slop sink in my laundry room. The work went very well and we started a relationship. When Ralph inquired if I had any other concerns. I told him of some difficulty I was having with hot water and the functioning of my furnace and he noticed that it appeared that I wasn't getting sufficient water pressure and I told him that a pressure valve was placed on system years ago. He suggested that it be removed, I'm getting better performance all around and the hot water supply is very good. Then recently, I went down to my laundry room in the evening and found that I was walking in a great deal of water coming from my furnace. Ralph came over the same day I called determined that the expansion tank failed, made the repair and all is well once again. My house was built in the mid seventies and there are other matters that I'm having Ralph and his company look into and work on. He goes over all his work making certain that he's satisfied that his work was done properly. I am very pleased with his work and would recommend him to others.

Ralph and his team were very helpful and friendly. They came quickly to clear the main sewer drain within the hour of when I called to inquire. They were efficient and tidy. Ralph communicates what needs to be done clearly as well as the results of what they did. I would definitely utilize their services again.

Ralph arrived on time for every project. He evaluated the issue/problems & discussed with us a plan that prioritized which problems needed to be fixed first, second, third. For each project, he explained what he would be doing. And he provided updates as he was working on each issue. He leaves the work site clean. He is conscientious, thorough and does an excellent job!

I needed to have my kitchen faucet replaced, and contacted Ralph for an appointment. He answered my phone call personally and set up an appointment that was not only convenient but just a couple days later, so the job was done quickly and when I needed it done. He was professional and courteous, arrived right on time and installed the fixture perfectly, fixed a couple of valves under the sink that needed repair, and cleaned up the work area completely. I thought the cost was fair also. I would definitely use his services again.

Nice enough guy, arrived on time. Came with his assistant. Needed to replace an old toilet but when we lifted it up, the flange was old and needed to be changed. Ralph changed the flange and replaced the toilet with a new one that I purchased. Job took 1.5 hours and final price for his work was about $900. I wasn't told the price before he started the job and found out that it was this price only after everything was completed (he said that this is his flat rate price for changing an old flange). If you do decide to hire him, I'd strongly suggest that you ask for a price/quote ahead of time because the price I paid seems to be a bit much (lesson learned!). Note, this rate doesn't include removal of the old toilet because I had to lug it outside after the job was done.

When we noticed a water stain in our living room, we realized the upstairs shower was leaking. We called Ralph after finding him on Angie's List and couldn't be happier. He was prompt, fair and when he saw that the problem was smaller than initially thought, he reduced the price for us. We've already hired him again. His tile man, Anthony, was also excellent and everything is working beautifully.

Ralph and his workers are consummate professionals. Ralph was on site himself for the job. He explained to me every step of the way what was going to happen. When he hit a roadblock and needed to call in an extra person and specialized tools for the job he let me know immediately and backup arrived within the hour and the job was done shortly after that. Fast clean professional and FAIR. It’s clear that Ralph takes great pride in his work. I know who to call now when disaster strikes and I suggest you call them too. 100% satisfied.

I was extremely pleased with the job. Ralph had met with me earlier to go over the plumbing problems I had, and provided me with a quote and scope of work to be done. Right on time, Ralph , with the assistance of Peter, fixed the pipe, and attached new shower head. It was necessary to cut out some tile and wall, as the pipe broke off behind a tiled wall . The work was well done, and setup neatly for tile replacement, which was very minimal. They explained what they were going to do, worked efficiently and totally cleaned up . Plus they recommended a tile person, who came out later the same day. I also needed to have a sewer line for washing machine unclogged. Ralph brought his man Joe to do the job. Quite honestly, this was the most thorough job I had experienced, having had this done several times before. Ralph will be coming out next week to replace the house inside septic line, which is old cast iron and cracked. I am confident that the work will be done with the same efficiency and professionalism.

Ralph and his helper was on time (actually early), explained everything that was done and asked for my opinion to make sure I was fine with the positioning of the pipes/sink. The work they did was clean and neat. They were respectful and cleaded up after themselves as if they were never here.

My father has 2 shower heads that needed replacing. Ralph is great! He was very responsive and was able to go to my dads condo within a few days of me contacting him. Ralph also picked up the shower heads based on a picture I sent. All in he finished the job in under an hour and a half and my father was very satisfied.

Ralph and Peter worked in conjunction with the local water company to replace my water meter and the gate valves on either side of the meter. Ralph arrived time and quickly replaced both valves. He and Peter were knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I already booked Ralph for a plumbing project next month.

I am truly glad I found Ralph Maresca on Angie's List. First, let me start by saying today is Friday, April 19th and the start of a holiday weekend. My daughter called in late afternoon and explained that my basement was flooding and it was an emergency. The call was immediately answered and Ralph said he would be at my home in a very short time...he arrived promptly as promised. He was very professional and reassuring and assessed the problem quickly ,,,,a broken pipe...problem being it was within the block in the wall. He explained the problem and that he would be able to repair it, stop the leak and able to turn the water back on to my home. Ralph proceeded to fix the problem, stop the leak and restore the water to my home. I definitely would hire again and would recommend to others.

I was so happy to have found Ralph on Angie's List. I called at 8:15 in the morning and he was here as promised at 11:30. He spent time with me analyzing the problems and explaining everything to me in great detail in a way I could understand. We were able to arrive at a plan to fix the immediate problems right away and then to address some other issues in subsequent visits. He, his assistant Paul, and another gentleman named Joe were absolutely wonderful. They THOROUGHLY snaked my drains and the sewer line better than anyone else every has. They were here for 2 hours instead of 30 minutes like other companies I had called in the past. They were polite, and professional at all times and did a great job cleaning up my bathroom when they were done. Ralph offered some great suggestions to solve some other problems I have without pressuring me. As a result I have already scheduled some more work. I only wish I had called him a year ago instead of wasting money on smaller, less experienced companies who never really solved the problem. I would without a doubt recommend him for any plumbing work you may need.
