Erik Maher took the deposit, came and did minimal work and then disappeared. I have attached a photo of a pipe that I paid him to remove, and he did not. I then had to pay someone else to remove it. HE NEVER APPLIED FOR A PLUMBING PERMIT. I took him to court, and he insisted, as a condition of returning my money, that I withdraw the complaint with the NJ plumbing board. I found that the NJ plumbing board FINED HIM FOR THE EXACT SAME THING. 4. MAHER, LMP # 11130, T/A PIPE WORKS GRACE REINER, CONSUMER, FILE ID # 50978 Resolved with $1,200 in restitution Members concluded that the consumer has been satisfied by the licensee's returning the sum of $1,200 in restitution to the consumer; however, the Board found that disciplinary action was appropriate against Mr. Maher in the form of an Offer of Settlement, with a $500 penalty for his failure to obtain the permits necessary for this job. When I told him that he had to deal with my lawyer, and to leave me alone, he sent me tens of unwanted text messages, which were derogatory in nature, IN SPITE OF MY TELLING HIM TO STOP CONTACTING ME. I considered these unwanted communications harassing in nature. He is not the contractor that anyone should feel comfortable dealing with.

Communication, price and service were excellent

Extremely well as always with Pipe Works. The technician was fantastic. He did the job all alone and finished it in record time. After I first called for for help, the technician was here in record time, about 40 minutes or less, with a new water heater. He did a top notch job, replaced some of the pipes into and out of the new water heater. No mess, no problems, just a GREAT JOB. More important, every one of the several technicians we have had here over several years was similarly highly competent and also did a first class job. I am very glad I found them.

Absolutely the WORST contractor I've ever dealt with! RUN from Erik Maher and Pipeworks, they delayed my bathroom renovation for well over a year. Failing to show up for scheduled work days over 15 times that I can document and when he actually showed he never once did ANY work at all, he has a helper who actually did the work. He's also the only contractor involved in the project that demanded 60% up front (that should have been the only red flag I needed) So after the **** of dealing with this guy and the inability to ever get him to return a call or text I finally had a real plumber come in and finish the job in ONE day.

Run, don't walk away from this company. Quoted 5 days to complete, still incomplete 23 days later. Took the money upfront, did not complete the job and I eventually fired him. Terrible reputation among other plumbers who take his customers. Doesn't call back, wants more money for an incomplete job. Totally unprofessional. Left garbage in my garage. Don't get suckered...go elsewhere.

I've had a bathroom remodel stalled for nearly 2 months waiting for this company to show up and install a drain and shower pan. They have No Showed after setting multiple appointments and I now can't even get a call back. As I have already paid them I'll be suing them before the week is out. This place is the reason contractors have a bad name.

The work that was done was acceptable, but the job was never finished, even though they were paid.

Excellent in every respect. The repair technician was probably the best who ever worked in our home in 36 years. Period!

It went very well.

The work was done quickly and professionally. He did not have a part he needed to complete the work but did return the next day to complete the job. I have used Pipe Works on several occasions in the past and feel that I have always gotten value from their services.

They are now our regular plumber.

I thought the work went fine but we had a problem with the pipes that vent the water heaters externally detaching from the water heater. It was like pulling teeth to get the guys back here again. Said they were going to come then blew us off. Took many calls to finally get them here to fix the issue.

PIPE WORKS was called early in the morning on 7/6/2010. I was able to speak to someone right away and set up an appointment for later that morning. They went to the house (a rental property) and determined the problem right away. A new faucet was needed in the kitchen, a new faucet was picked up right away and replaced within a matter of hours.

They are a little pricey but offer high quality work. I would use them again in the future if necessary. I also appreciated their follow up to ensure my satisfaction.

I heard about PIPE WORKS Plumbing and Heating from my daughter who has used them a couple of times. I actually live with my daughter but have a rental property which is where PIPE WORKS performed the work. I was asked to write a review about the work performed and was more than happy. I was there while they fixed a severe leak we had and did not know where it was coming from. The owner, Erik, was on site while his guys were there and they were all very nice and helpful. The leak was fixed in a timely manner and they cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely be using them again.

I originally contacted Pipeworks because the hot water faucet in my shower was stripped and/or would not shut off. I also wanted to change the vanity in my bathroom. Mr. Maher, the proprietor and plumber, came and installed the vanity. He neglected to mention a rather large hole in the wall that was left uncovered by installing a smaller vanity than was previously there. He also installed the faucet that I had selected before advising me that the pull for the stopper rubbed against the backsplash for the vanity and was, therefore, difficult to operate. He told me after the vanity and faucet were installed. He also advised that he would have to replace the stems on the faucets in the shower. I paid him and he promised to return in one week. Months went by before he returned. He did not return my calls or set up an appointment, and when he did, he failed to appear on more than one occasion. Nine months later, the newly installed cold water shower faucet would not shut off. I called Pipeworks on a Friday to ask that Mr. Maher examine the problem. I was told that he could not come on Saturday but would be available on Monday (Sunday was Easter). I was not available then and asked for a Tuesday morning appointment. I was told that I would be Mr. Maher's third appointment of the morning and that he should be there by 11am. At 10:30, I called the office. The receptionist, advised me that she had not spoken to Mr. Maher yet but that she'd call me back when she did. Mr. Maher called back a few minutes later and told me that he would not be available for another 2-3 hours. This was unacceptable, as I had to go to work. We rescheduled for the following morning between 8 and 9 am. At 9:30am, after not hearing from Mr. Maher, I called him and got no answer on either of the numbers that I had for him. I left a message and waited for him to appear. At 10am, with no call from him or his office, and no sign that he would appear, I left for work. I have now been without cold water for a week, and will hire another plumber to resolve the issue.

We had a wonderful experience with PIPE WORKS PLUMBING and HEATING, They were professional and they showed up when they said they would The workers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. We had a lot of work going on in our house at once and it was nice to deal with such a great plumbing company.

I made made numerous phone calls to schedule the work and did not get called back for several days. Mechanic who finally showed up, gave me the impression that he was annoyed to have to pick up the supplies needed.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE TIMELINESS OF THEIR WORK. THEY WORKED VERY WELL WITH THE COMPANY I HIRED TO INSTALL CERAMIC TILE AND EVERYTHING LOOKS WONDERFUL. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEIR WORK.
