Lowe's

We purchased a house where the former owners used Lowe’s for the roof replacement in 2020. We were told the roof was still under warranty. The contract the former owners shared with us showed the work completed in August, but Lowe’s claims it was completed in June and refused to share any documentation to show this was the case. They also claim that warranties for their roofing work are not transferable to new property owners. Beware if you use them and plan to sell your home in the future.

OLD water heater started to leak, a slow leak but had a little time to check things out. After looking at Sears (had prior good experience)and Lowes, decided on Lowes since unit was energy star rated and same price as Sears base 12 year warranty model.-so a better more efficient unit. Called Lowes early on 8/26 for install service same day. Install costs were the same $299. Plumber 's office called around 12noon-said they would be there between 1 to 4and would call first.. Lowes contracts out installs to Riteway Plumbing in East Hanover NJ. Also note that you have to get the building permit and arrange inspection from your town-although plumber brought completed paperwork with him at the install. Well no call and he arrived around 5:30. Plumber assessed situation and advised of additional charges due to code update- grounding wire ($40) and upgrade from 3 to 4 inch vent ($135), and he would have to come back to do the vent. I told him I would handle the vent before the inspection. He was very good, went right to work and had the new one working in no time. Problem was getting out the old unit. It would not drain properly so plumber said he would be back in a couple of days to remove old unit. @ days passed and no pick up. Called plumbers office on Thurs - said they would handle. Called again on Friday still lip service. Sat I called Loews Paramus in the afternoon but the install dept had left for the day. Left a detailed message with person in customer service. Monday was Labor Day - called and got Jessica in the install office-she tried to call Riteway but closed-- would send over a work order to remove old unit. Called Jessica on Tues, she called riteway who said they would call me with time for pickup. We finally got the call late Wed and they picked up the unit Thurs.-- So 10 days to get the old unit removed. Generally happy with the install. Had expected additional charges due to code. Spent $20 in parts and saved over $100.If you are handy.Based upon my research, $135 price was not out of line. Try to get detail of what the install price includes. Very disappointed with the old unit removal-not with Lowes but the contractor. As my original installer came back for the old unit, their system must be linked to him. Riteway owner needs to make some changes to correct their customer service-- not the people in the office but a credit to another installer to pick up an old unit.

It took a long time to get everything done and I absolutely will not use them again in the future.
