It took a bit of time to coordinate the initial evaluation because Frank is super busy but being a little patient is worth it. What Frank and his team did was beautiful. My front yard was in terrible shape - spotty lawn, dead and dying plants and haphazard placing of plants in the beds. Frank came by and talked me through what he would do over the phone which worked well for me as I work 9-5 and it's difficult for me to arrange to be home. I let Frank decide plantings and placement. He has a great eye. When it was all done, my front yard was beautiful again. The plants he selected and the placement looks perfect. I really love it. His crew was meticulous in their clean up. They even moved items off the ground so they can get every crevice. I also signed up for weekly maintenance. Their crew does everything efficiently and leaves a receipt for the work done. I'm usually not home when they come by but the came in the evening one time and I have to say I'm very impressed with the professionalism of his crew. These guys are great - highly recommended!

I have a great experience working with Frank Porter of Almost Perfect Landscaping. He is very responsive and helpful, when I call and ask him questions about my lawn. In addition, he was very knowledgeable and let me know what needed to get done and what was not necessary. Another thing that impressed me was how quickly the work was done. I started my fourth season with Frank, Courtney and his professional team and would highly recommend his company!

Don't let their tongue-in-cheek name fool you, Frank Porter and his crew at Almost Perfect Landscaping are as close to perfect as one can get. We hired Almost Perfect to help us figure out how to turn a useless dirt hill in our backyard into an attractive landscape. Frank consulted with us numerous times before we pulled the trigger on the project - which required regrading a portion of our yard, adding a retaining wall and new decorative plantings, and planting new trees for a privacy screen. He not only considered the options for this project but also took into account future work that we have been considering to make sure we make the right long-term decision (for example, he helped us think through different suggestions based on future plans to re-do our deck vs. adding a patio). Frank also helped find numerous ways to reduce the cost of the project without reducing the overall scope, while still providing exactly the desired end result. Frank and his crew did a wonderful job of both adding beauty and functionality to our yard. Frank is endlessly reliable, a fun personality to work on a project with, and someone I look forward to working with again.

Weekly maintenance was okay. My complaints are... they put down fertilizer and billed me for it when I never requested their turf program. Charged me a lot to plant a tree, and the tree died. Then cut my grass in the middle of December and said it was to help the grass to go dormant for the winter. Never heard such nonsense. I'd say they're far from perfect.

They did a great job, did it very quickly, and the lawn came in well. Would definitely recommend. They were also silent - we didn't even know they had been and gone #stealthlandscaping

Workers showed up on time and finished in one day. Removed a lot of small and large boulders where ever they had to. Leveled yards and removed tree roots. Seeded for a new lawn which came up nice and green in three weeks. Could not be more pleased. The job received many compliments from friends and neighbors. i will be calling them back for more work this year.

I had a contract for lawn maintenance and snow removal for many years with another company. The blizzard of 2016 started on Friday evening, January 22 and the snow continued all day on Saturday, January 23. By Sunday, the snow had stopped and there was approximately 20 to 22 inches of snow. Upon leaving for work on Monday, the 20 to 22 inches of snow had not been touched. I called the other contractor on Monday morning to inquire about the time frame for the snow removal and I was told that they may come on Tuesday, January 27. I called Almost Perfect on Monday, January 25 and asked if they could remove the snow from my property by early Tuesday morning. The woman who answered my call was extremely pleasant and indicated that Almost Perfect would be at my home on Monday, January 25. The owner of Almost Perfect also spoke with me and he said that my entire property would be completed on Monday. I really appreciated the fact that they were willing to do the snow removal on Monday; I realize that they had existing customers and were extremely busy after the blizzard. What outstanding customer service.... Almost Perfect Landscaping is a company that truly focuses on the customer. Almost Perfect Landscaping now has my business for lawn maintenance and snow removal.

Frank is responsive, courteous and professional. We just got hit with 2+ feet and Frank did an amazing job at cleaning up. Looking forward to continuing with Frank for landscaping services!

We moved into our new house in late Summer and were way behind on everything. Based on reviews here on Angies List We called Frank and he sent his team out right away ( the same day) to remove the leaves and sticks that were piling up in our yard as well as clean the gutters. The yard looks amazing! We will be using Frank and his team for the Spring and Summer lawn maintenance. He & his team are very nice and do a great job for a reasonable price. We are so happy that we found them and highly recommend them.

Frank had a vision and did a great job. It was a big job, but his guys got it done in a day and a half. Was willing to work with us on our requests and did a good job guiding us in the right direction, without being overbearing or upselling. Will definitely work with Frank again come spring time on some additional work.

Team showed up as scheduled, worked well together and quickly. Clean-up better than expected. More than satisfied.

Frank answered my call right away - as he did with all subsequent calls. He came over to view the garden, and took pictures. He worked out the least expensive way to have the work done, and was ready to start right away. He met with us to choose new plants, and readily listened to my likes and dislikes, and helped us choose new plants accordingly. His suggestion for a blue stone pathway on the side of the house came out absolutely beautifully, but when we tried the same material in front, it didn't work, so he readily had the stone taken away. Frank and his staff are professional, responsive, on time, and really have a sense of how to landscape a garden. I can be difficult to please, but I absolutely love the way the garden turned out. Frank also taught us how to care for the new plantings. As far as I'm concerned. he can change the name of his company from "Almost Perfect" to just, plain "Perfect."

I needed a last minute sod install before having a party and Frank was very accommodating and made it happen. He was very responsive to my requests (unlike other landscapers I contacted) and everything went as planned. I received several quotes from other landscapers and Frank's quote was very reasonable so I decided I went with him. It has been several weeks since the Sod and Tree install and I followed Frank's watering schedule and everything looks great. Will definitely use Almost Perfect Landscaping again for other landscaping needs. I highly recommend Almost Perfect Landscaping.

Frank Porter, the owner, worked with us (over a couple of months) to determine a plan that would work within our budget. The complication was that the yard is shared with 3 other condo owners in our building, and it took some time to get everyone on board with the plan and the cost. Throughout, Frank took the time to explain all the options and the benefits of each. The day of the job, the crew showed up around 9:30am and immediately got to work. Frank had explained the whole job to them, so we didn't need to do anything. They worked for 7 hours and completed the full job, including clean up. At the end, they left before we even had a chance to think about whether we should tip or not. Everyone in the building was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the team and how smoothly everything went. We only needed to give our approval on the final layout of the plants. In the end, the yard looks even better than we had expected and we're looking forward to our new trees growing into the space. We will definitely call Almost Perfect Landscaping again if we need any more yard work done (maybe some flowers planted in the spring...).

Frank was very responsive and professional. He answered my email inquiry right away and was at my house for a quote within a week. Unfortunately, we could not spend the money to complete the job at this time but I would recommend Frank's services to others based on his professionalism and communication.

The company did a great job with the spring clean up, which was completed some time in the first week of June. Atter the spring clean up, no bi-weekly lawn maintenance was provided. However, the owner called me and apologized. Ever since then, his crew has done an excellent job with the lawn maintenance. I continue to use them for lawn maintenance and will more than likely have them complete the fall clean up as well.

Almost Perfect nailed it. I recently purchased a new home that had a yard which needed TLC. Frank (owner) came to our home with a vision that would leave my yard with that clean/ neat look. The overgrown beds were cleaned and shaped, wisteria was removed, and plants were added. We have received many compliments from our neighbors and will continue to use Almost Perfect.

Frank possesses all the Trade Licenses and professional recognition necessary for any educated consumer to initially conclude that Frank is a strong advocate of Customer Service Best Practices. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. I contacted Frank with an interest in having his company remove, dispose and replace 372 Sq. Ft. of sod and add peat moss, lime, and fertilizer. To ensure his understanding of the scope of work to be performed, I requested a written proposal that included a project summary and detailed cost analysis, but Frank refused. Instead, Frank quoted me $1,825.00 in a one?line email and suggested I call him if I was interested; this was unfortunate because I found Frank to be personable on the phone. In reflecting back on the situation, I suspect that Frank refused to provide me a written proposal because he could not qualify the excessively high cost to perform this small job. Three (3) equally qualified landscapers put their own estimates at a range of $735.00 ? $900.00. All three (3) landscapers were completely shocked about the $1,825.00. I might add that Frank never visited our home. Frank used Google to view the property and form his opinion. Despite the excellent review and reputation, in the final analysis, Frank lost my confidence. For this, I would neither use him nor recommend him to anyone. I encourage anyone interested in retaining him to demand a written proposal and get 2nd and 3rd opinions.

He accompanied us to two nurseries as we sought the shrubs, plants and trees that fit our ecological situation. He is a down-to-earth guy who tells it like it is. The Almost Perfect field team is outstanding. They take the materials and plans and make it all happen. The men are patient, listening to customers questions, offering advice that makes sense. The work is hard yet Martine, Carlos, Augustine and the team carefully prepare the earth and expertly seed and plant. All expectations are met. Frank and the team are punctual. They focus on one job at a time, and they complete the work on time. We are hiring Almost Perfect for our regular landscaping maintenance team. Looking forward to working with them. Very nicely. Very honest, straightforward, actually suggested several things to save money, and told me when I wanted to do something that was not really needed (i.e., he actively did NOT want my money for nothing, which is rare !). I had previously some poor experiences with landscaping (completely non responsive to requests), so was very weary of what will happen, but he is really good and made me comfortable. He also provided me with several numbers of other contractors from the neighborhood. Also, good sense of humor. Hopefully, this will continue in regular maintenance of my lawn as well.

Frank was great to work with! He came at his scheduled time and gave a very reasonable estimate. The work was done when he said it would be. He was very punctual and easy to get in touch with for any questions. We will be using his company again in the future!

We found Almost Perfect through Angie's List and have been using them for weekly lawn maintenance. Their price for weekly maintenance is super reasonable and they show up on time every week and do a great job. Most recently we had them weed all the flower beds and add mulch. Again, the price was fair and the work they did is great. The yard looks much neater and they completed the project pretty quickly.

They did a very good job. They took the time out to pick out the flowers and the tree that my wife wanted. She was very particular about the color and and type of tree she wanted. APL made sure she was happy. They showed up on time and did the work promptly. Frank answered all of our questions and so far, all the plants are doing well. We are very happy with their work and would recommend them to others who is looking for a reputable landscaper.
