Almost Perfect Landscaping

They were very reasonable and he did an excellent job.

It went well. We asked for estimates from several companies. almost PERFECT Landscaping actually sub-contracted it to another tree service company. I forgot the name. I talked with Victor. Price is a big concern for us. His initial estimate was not the lowest. But he was doing another two job in my town. Victor stopped by several days later and we negotiated a better price. He eventually also took care of getting the permit from the town. 4-5 people came and cut down the tree. Cleaned the deris. The only two complains are: 1. that they stepped on and crushed some of our flowers.They grow back after a couple of weeks. So, it is fine. 2. they seem to trim two oak trees too much, and those two trees do not look pretty now; Overall, we are happy and would like to recommend this company.

Almost Perfect has been doing my regular lawn cutting and landscaping sevrice for a full season now and we could not be happier with the service. They maintain my approx. 2.0 acre property in Ho Ho Kus in beautiful condition. They never miss a week and Frank is very responsive to any and all inquiries. If I ask for some aspect of the work to be done a certain way, I only have to ask once and it continues to be performed in that manner going forward-- a rare joy in this day and age! I was particularly impressed with a recent summer shrub pruning service that I requested. I was not able to be there for the service and was concerned about how much or how little they might prune, and in which areas. I was blown away by how perfectly the work was done. They didn't miss an area and managed to shape all the shrubs/hedges in an attractive manner-- as opposed to the hatchet jobs I've gotten from other outfits in recent years. They trimmed just the right amount and left the place spotless. I found the price very fair for the amount of work involved. I have large patches of forsythia on both sides of my property, which grow like weeds, and they did all of that along with the typical plantings around the house and front yard. I'm extremely pleased with their work. Agustin is the crew chief who takes care of my yard.

ARRIVED ON TIME, PERFORMED AS AGREED,

I contacted Frank Porter of almost Perfect to look at the overgrown shrubs throughout my property. He responded rather quickly to my request. We set up an appt. in which he showed up on time, unlike some of my other experiences. He was very knowledgeable and informative of all my needs. There were some areas that needed special attention while others just needed attention. One week later the job was completed to my satisfaction. If you are looking for a contractor to get the job done, right, the first time around, call them. Frank showed up with the crew, explained the job in detail, and it was done exactly as we had discussed. He worked within my budget and I have decided to have him to do further work on my property.

I wasn't there for much of the working time, and it did take the crew maybe three weeks or more to get to our job, although Frank kept in contact with an estimated started time. My husband had a moment of panic when they were painting the first coat for the cement surface (it was brownish) but it ended up being the battleship gray color I had expected. After the job was completed, it turned out the crew had plastered over the metal holes for the pool ladder, but Frank came back to fix it.

They came when they said they would, and did a great job. The were punctual, and also very thorough in explaining everything.

We were about to put our house on the market, and none of us had the time or skills to do a thorough clean-up of the yard. My past experience with lawn care companies was discouraging -- I rarely even got a call back because I wasn't a contract customer. But Frank was responsive and sent a crew out within days. Instead of being embarrassed about our yard at the first open house, we were proud to show it off.

Frank and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with ? a bit pricy but worth every penny. Frank came out to our property prior to any work to get a general feel of the space and talk it over via cell phone. We then met in person to plan the job in detail. Frank was easy to talk to and went out of his way to understand and address our needs, using his own artistic skill and experience to come up with solutions we haven?t even considered, including several critical fixes to the landscaping that made a tremendous amount of difference and really improved the livability and curbside appeal of the property. The crew showed up on time and was very professional, courteous and efficient. They did the entire job in one day, without cutting corners and were happy to accommodate small course corrections we asked for along the way. Frank even threw in a ?housewarming gift? of extra mulching and flower planting worth over $400 to make the yard look complete. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this job and would recommend Frank and Almost Perfect for any landscaping work.

I have done this above but it went better than we even had expected! There was a tremendous amount of work to be done on our property and Frank came the next day with a crew of 5 men and did all he had promised and more. This is a terrific company and Frank Porter is an exceptionally fine individual. Our son now wants to use him for his home in Ramsey as well so it is no wonder that this man has the reputation he has. He is extremely competent, very responsive and communicated with us at every step of the way. We will definitely use him again in the future.

I first contacted Frank Porter of Almost Perfect in 2010. I was using another Landscape Co. to whom I was not completely satisfied. In 2011 I contacted the co I was using to bid a project for me to which I never got. Little to know around the same time, Frank contacted me not knowing my situation. I asked him to bid the project and within 3 days the project was bid. I asked him if he was responsive like this in everything he does. His reply was that he cares about his customers and does the best he can. I signed the contract, set the date and the project was done as promised. I am happy to say I have called him numerous times to discuss my property and he responded as quickly. He is also very knowledgeable in all aspects of Landscaping. If you need a company who delivers what they say call them.

They gave me the estimate, but we haven't progressed from that. They suggested I get other quotes and I haven't had a chance to do that. Their estimate was good. The guy that came out was really nice and had some really good ideas. I told him that it was the first time I was doing this so he told me to go out and find other people and get their estimates and then get back to him. He was very helpful in taking me through the process.

Our normal cutting schedule is on Tuesday and this year we were hosting a 4th of July party at our home - but the 4th fell on a Monday and that meant that our lawn was lush and in need of a cut. So I asked Frank if he could send his guys out on the 4th and do our lawn to ensure it was beautiful for our guests. Frank agreed to make a special trip but to my surprise when I heard the familiar sound of the mower I looked out and saw that it was Frank doing the work. After he completed the Job I went out and thanked him. We started with Almost Perfect this year and did not expect this kind of treatment. As always Frank came through for us. A truly good guy.

I chose this provider based on the positive comments from other Angie's List users. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I contacted Almost Perfect the first week of May to see about setting up an appointment for an estimate and consultation on various landscaping related services (tree relocation and pruning, landscape design, various yardwork). Frank (I believe his name was Frank), the owner returned my call within 48 hrs. He seemed nice enough but definitely busy, which I can appreciate. When I mentioned we were considering relocating a small to medium sized tree, Frank advised me it was nearing the end of the season for that type of service but he asked me to send him some pictures and he would see what he could do. I sent Frank a total of 5 pictures within a couple hours of our conversation. It was a Friday so I figured I would hear back from him the following week. Nobody ever called me back. Definitely not what I would call a positive experience.

Mr. Porter made it a point to come by when he was in my area, since I live outside his normal service area. He seemed turned off by the job though, making discouraging comments and throwing out exaggerated costs. He didn't even offer to write up the estimate, he just tried to get out of it. Kind of strange, but if he can pick & choose his work, power to him.

Frank and crew were true professionals. I have never seen a bunch of guys work so hard. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with, and Frank was always available to answer questions and offer ideas. I am definately using them again. Almost Perfect...... is perfect in my book!

Work was scheduled and performed quickly, thoroughly, and efficiently with fine oversight by Frank and his team of 3 - all courteous and hardworking. The job was completed in about half a day. All debris was cleaned up and taken away.The yard looks transformed and am beyond totally pleased with the result.

He was very thorough and looked over at the property to estimate the same. The entire crew came on a Saturday and did an excellent job. Their reviews online helped me choose them for the job. I was very pleased and will use the same in future.

They did the work very well. They were very timely. They were responsive to my comments. They came on time. They were always good on communication. They did the work well. I would use them in the future.

We found Frank on Angie's LIst. He responded the same day I asked for an estimate. He was at our house within days. He arrived with one of his workers. Both men had great ideas for our space. They reused a good portion of our shrubs/trees, but just replanted them in a more efficient way. They were able to fulfill my wishes and my husbands in relation to front yard and back yard. Frank did not pressure us to make a decision on the spot. He gave us time to think of his proposal and called us the next day with an exact estimate, which was lower than what he originally quoted. He arrived after 2 wks or so only because of my wk schedule and rain , but we remained in constant communication. The job was done in a day. They worked very hard, were very professional and punctual. They did such a great job! They were working so hard, neighbors were asking about the company. We would definitely hire them again!

My wife and I recently purchased a newly constructed home and though the back yard was a big selling point for us, it needed a complete landscaping to be usable.? Not only was the yard devoid of any greenery but it also looked to have been a dumping ground for all sorts of neighborhood refuse over the past century.? After speaking with Frank on the phone, we made an appointment for early in the morning and though it rained hard all day, he arrived on time and ready to survey the job.? After spending over an hour discussing the various project elements, we sat down so Frank could prepare the estimate on the spot.? He included a retaining wall, wood fencing, sod, evergreen trees, flowering trees, flowers and mulching but the best part about Frank was that, unlike the other bidders, he really had a vision for the space that was based on his extensive experience and creativity.? He explained exactly what plant material we should use to achieve our goal of a relaxing yard nestled in our urban neighborhood and he tailored it both to our personalities as well as the surrounding environment.? His bid was also right in line with the other bidders so the choice was obvious.? Once we agreed to move forward, Frank secured all the items we needed and arrived early in 3 trucks and with 7 workers who immediately went to work.? He even took me shopping during lunch for all the maintenance products and tools we would need to maintain the yard.? 100 man-hours later (all in one day) we finally had the yard of our dreams! Great job Frank and thanks again!

The job went very well. Frank gave us an estimate; although he said he would e-mail us the estimate, we never did receive it in writing. When the bill came, it was $60.00 above the estimate he had given. He made good on his word and charged us the original estimate given. As I previously said, he and his men delivered what they promised.

All work performed as promised. Looks great.

Frank is a pleasure to work with. His team did a great job on our property and did the little things that make his service stand out. My neighbors commented on what a nice job he did. We love the results! I highly recommend.
