Almost Perfect Landscaping

Almost Perfect performed excellent, speedy and professional service. I spoke to Frank Porter on Wednesday and he had his crew at my house on Saturday. My lawn was in sorry shape - especially due to a bamboo invasion. The men arrived on time. They tackled each of the issues mentioned above and worked well as a team. They were very helpful and perfomed a few extras without a problem (back yard mowing and moving the sand filter). The crew left behind a well-fertilized lawn that looked better than I have seen it in years. I would highly recommend this company for Lawn and Yard Work and would bet that their other services would be as well performed. I will be using Almost Perfect services every two weeks. It looks like this is the start of a long relationship. Thank you Frank and your team.

We almost bought the coupon. They sounded like the exact type of contractor we need. They list our town as their service area, but then we were told that they will only come there for larger contracts. We are very glad we did not buy the coupon. We are still in need of someone to do lawn maintenance, clean up and porch maintenance. There are homes selling for $500's one block over. We want to keep our investment.

Frank is fantastic! We were unable to meet in person but he called me as he walked my property and we discussed everything we could have possibly done (my lawn/yard was horribly neglected since last year so there was quite a bit to talk about). The initial cleanup work and a few other things -- like removing some stumpage -- looked fantastic!! Yesterday was my first lawn trmming since the initial cleanup and I must say I am quite please with almost PERFECT Landscaping and plan on keeping them on for a long time.

First I want to say that I contacted several landscapers from Angie's list and other sources and Frank Portor was the only one who got back to me promptly and kept following up. Even when I had a minor illness and was out of commission for a while and not returning his calls, he kept trying. Once I contacted him he scheduled the job right away. His crew showed up at 7:30 AM and stayed until they were finished around 4:00 PM. They were very accommodating and the crew boss spoke good English (I've had problems in this department with landscapers in the past). They showed me the layout before they planted and when I told them I thought there weren't enough shrubs they went out and got more on the spot. They also moved some things around after the fact--they dug them up and moved them without giving me a hard time. When I got the bill it was sticker shock at first, but I contacted Frank with my concerns and we worked it out. I still think it's a little on the high side but I can live with it. Frank has given me a guarantee in writing that if there is serious erosion again he will come back and fix it. We had a heavy rain right after the work was finished, no visible erosion. So far so good, I plan to update this report as necessary. For now I am happy with the work, it looks good and seems to have been done properly this time.

Frank was very easy to work with. Even though the project was in the city, he was enthusiastic to take it on. He designed a plan and shared his proposal with me. Frank's team was in and out in one day. From my first contact with Frank to the project completion, the job was finished within one week. Not many contractors can set a time frame and complete it on time. The price for the total job was fair. I feel that if I had used someone else, the price would have been higher.

I met with Frank Porter of Almost Perfect Landscaping at my home to review the condition of our lawn and landscape. You have no idea how pleasant it is to work with a contractor who actually knows what he is doing. He answered my request within 24hrs and scheduled an appt right after. When he got here, he took his time to explain all aspect of my landscape and how we should proceed without breaking the bank. He proposed to transplant and re-organize my front yard. At first it looked fine to me, however he pointed out the conflicts and how his crew could address them. I?m glad we went through with it. The shrubs now are not all jammed together and can breathe. He moved some of them along my side yard, which was a perfect idea, and planted others in the front that made more sense. Plus the beautiful spring flowers that were planted all around makes the lawn look so fresh. That night, pulling up to the house after working all day put a smile on my face. (just like he said it would) I?m actually jealous of my neighbor across the street because they have such a pretty view from their window. =) We've signed on for a seasonal contract with him to keep everything looking beautiful and to get our grass in nice shape. In addition to fixing & maintaining our lawn, I mentioned that we have a few other jobs that need taking care of. He told me about his sister company Almost Perfect Contracting & Handyman services. Perfect. I liked how Frank was on top of his game and I knew he wouldn?t partner with someone who would give him a bad name. I scheduled an appt with Tom his project manager who knew more about home improvement than most people I met. We had 12 inches of water in our basement and needed to get it re-done. Tom just like Frank knew his stuff. I find it?s so hard to find good work these days. You?re always taking a chance. So glad to have found a company who is so diversified in handling all my maintenance needs. They?re my go-to guys from now on.

He showed up on time and spent time with us going over options and sharing his experience with us. We ultimately decided not to do the project but the communication was terrific and the ideas were outstanding. We will certainly use them when the time comes.

Frank is a great guy. Super fast service answered all calls and even got the permit for me. Was done in 1 day cleaned up all the mess looked great.

He was excellent and very knowledgeable. He was absolutely on time and was always available on moments notices.

I called Frank and within minutes he called me back. That was a good start. He set up an appointment the next day. We called Almost Perfect because they could handle the whole job so we did not have to hire two different contractors. This company's crew clarified all work to be done before the crew started. We were extremely impressed with the thoroughness of his knowledge to get the job done at such a short notice. In one day he did everything he promised. He graded our ground, added top soil, installed sod and a fence. He also installed a retaining wall to make a plant bed that I plan to cultivate this spring. The members of his crew were hardworking, pleasant and courteous gentlemen who seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. We plan to use them to do some other remodeling projects in the yard when our budget allows.

Frank and his co-workers were polite, responsive, and honest. The winter was approaching and I needed to get my roof cleaned. Frank assured me first warm day he would schedule us. Never the less he came through and a brief warm spell right before the Holiday he came through for us. That’s a man who holds to his word. The first thing that impressed me was that, on the day I first called Frank, he showed up on time. To me, that says a lot. I felt that he was honest. We felt most comfortable with him because of how he presented himself and the details that he provided for us regarding his expertise. You have no idea how refreshing it is to work with a contractor who actually listens. We plan to call Almost Perfect for our Landscaping needs in the Spring as well as some other Remodeling projects when our budget allows. Working with a company who is so talented takes the stress out of hiring a contractor.

Everything was great. Frank's crew came on time, worked quickly, took away all the wood/fill and left the leaves at the curb (as agreed) and even cut the lawn! The place looks much improved. I'm very happy with the results.

I contacted Almost Perfect when we moved into our new house. The landscaping was a mess and too overwhelming to handle on my own. Frank Porter was great to deal with. He made time to come over on a Sunday and was very through looking at the yard and helping me determine what was important to take care of right away and what could wait. A few days later I arrived home to a beautiful manicured yard. Frank and his crew did a great job!!. I have used them since for other landscaping projects and they have always done an excellent job at a great price. The last project being a fall clean up. He came out Thanksgiving week and did a great job with a massive leaf clean up including my gutters. I highly recommend Almost Perfect.

I was looking for a professional to evaluate the outside landscape condition of my home. I had recently moved out of the city and had no experience maintaining a property. Glad I contacted Frank of Almost Perfect to review this job. The first thing that impressed me was that he responded to my request within 2 hrs and set the appointment up to meet me the next day on a Saturday. To me that says a lot-- responsive, professional, hands on. All the reports that I have read on Angie’s list were more than 100% true. He completely changed ambiance of my home by adding, moving, and eliminating space to enhance the views from the street. Within three weeks of the installation the flowers he planted began to bloom getting prettier all season long. He followed through with everything he told me he would do. I know he was not the cheapest guy on the block, but I know he was the best.

Frank Porter came to my house and walked my property with me to discuss the landscaping projects I wanted him to do. He is very knowledgeable and is a good and respectful listener. He delivered the services with quality and was available to respond to my follow-up calls.

The work has not been done. I liked them. My overall experience with them was fine. There was nothing else that stuck out to me. They didn’t pressure me.

I have been very satisfied with Frank Portor's work on both jobs. He is without a doubt the most responsive contractor I have had the pleasure to work with. He returns calls and emails promptly, and remains in frequent contact during the course of the job. I rate him much better than all the other contractors I have used (plumbers, carpenters, floor installers, etc.) in this regard. If I email him, he will email me back the same day. If I call him, he will call me back the same day. He provides estimates promptly by email, and he sticks to the numbers he provides. Frank is responsive as well in terms of the initial meeting and discussion. He is very flexible on coming out to the house to review problems (he has come out to my house on Sundays, early mornings, and late evenings to suit my schedule), and he gives ample time to discussing the problems and brainstorming solutions. He will propose his own solutions of course, but is also very attentive to homeowner input. Frank's responsiveness and professionalism extends also to the job itself. He starts the job when he says he will start, and finishes promptly. He does what he says he is going to do. I like the fact that he approaches a job thoughtfully, evaluating and reevaluating what approach will achieve the best results. In some cases, he may realize that the original solution will not be optimal, and he will then alter the strategy. I value the fact that he does not proceed mindlessly, but is always thinking "what will best fix the problem." I understand that complex jobs like drainage sometimes offer unexpected challenges, and I value the fact that Frank can adapt to the situation. The drainage work done by Frank and his crew was professional, and --- thus far --- effective. Since the drain by the garage and driveway was installed, the ponding there has been alleviated (except during Hurricanes Irene and Lee, when the whole neighborhood became a pond). Since he modified the side gutter (piping runoff underground away from the house), the basement has been dry. I cannot assess the long term effectiveness of these solutions because it's been only a few months. I am hoping they will continue to work for years. I feel that Frank's prices have been quite reasonable for the amount of work these jobs entailed, and I hope to be able to use him for some more conventional landscaping and perhaps patio construction as well.

Frank did an amazing job with my yard. I initially contacted him because a tree had fallen down in my front yard from Hurricane Irene. Several people I had contacted either didn't show or told me the tree couldn't be saved. I got quotes from two people who offered to chop up and cart it away for a few hundred dollars. Frank not only called me back right away after I emailed him, but he came that very day to give me an estimate and then did the work the VERY NEXT DAY, which was critical as it was just before our holiday. Frank said he could save the tree and it would cost me less than $100 more than what the others wanted to kill my tree! Frank got the tree back up, pruned it (it was seriously top-heavy, which is why it came down) supported it with ropes and stakes, and put a pitcher's mound of dirt around it. My wife and kids are thrilled that the tree is back where it belongs. Additionally, for a couple hundred dollars more, Frank cleaned up the entire yard: trimming the bushes, pruning my other trees, aligning the hedges - work that had been neglected for a few seasons. This was money well spent. My beautiful plum tree is back where it should be, and my landscaping hasn't looked this good in years. I could have easily spent twice the money for half the work. Frank is a terrific value with terrific results.

We were very satisfied from start to finish with the new landscaping in the front of our home. The work was done very professionally. It was completed in just one day. All the workers were diligent and polite and knew just?what to do without any damage. They did a great job cleaning up too.

I had not cleaned up my lawn in about a month due to the fact that I had a new baby and just could not spend the time. I found Almost Perfect and asked about having the lawn fixed. The owner came over and was able to get his crew over that afternoon. He stayed and worked with his crew to keep them on track. He then did a walk around with me to make sure that I was happy with his service. It must have raised the value of my property significantly. While I found it a bit pricey, the quality more than made up for it. I am so happy with his work I am going to be using their services to plant new sod where I used to have an above ground swimming pool. I am also going to be using there services for monthly maintanence which I find more than reasonable.
