When I contacted Almost Perfect landscaping, Frank, the owner, was able to stop by, examine the property and share a few ideas and provide the estimate the same day. While we were evaluating various options and various landscapers, Frank was always available to answer questions via email, phone, SMS. Frank was very attentive to our requests and concerns and was able to address all of them in a timely manner. Compared to the others, he definitely was the most responsive! On the day of the job, Frank and his crew showed up on time, well, almost -- they were whopping 2 minutes late. The crew worked promptly yet quietly and accurately. Frank noticed that the old wooden fence next to the shrubs was rotten in quite a few places and repaired it replacing a few boards here and there for free, which was quite a pleasant surprise. When they were finishing the job the next day, they installed a drip line for the new shrubs and integrated it nicely with existing watering system. As an unexpected bonus, Frank cleaned up and trimmed the plants in front of the house, added mulch and planted mums! Everything went smoothly, Frank was always available and was attentive to our needs.

Very responsive to my initial call, owner came out to assess the property, gave a reasonable price. we scheduled a day for the cut and they did a very god job. Case now have them cutting the lawn a regular basis until the season ends.

Frank and his team have been working on our yard since May 2013, and they have done a fantastic job. In addition to regular maintenance of the yard throughout the summer, I needed to make two additional requests recently: (1) to cut down a tree (which was actually two trees intertwined) in our backyard and (2) pruning at the edge of our property to prepare for fence installation. Frank was able to take care of the tree removal and provided full service - stump grinding, removal of wood chips, and sod planting where the tree used to be. The pruning job needed to be done right away in order to have our fence installed. Again, Frank and his team were able to accommodate and did a wonderful job. Overall, we are very pleased with Frank and his team and would highly recommend Almost Perfect Landscaping.

We hired Frank Porter at Almost Perfect to do the following work: re-grade an unsafe section of our back yard, which was torn up after we had 7 large trees removed, tear up a cement path, and install and underground drainage pipe. To say Frank Porter and Almost Perfect went above and beyond would be an understatement. Not only did they do an incredible job on the work discussed, they did an incredible job on work we didn?t even expect them to do. We discussed re-grading only areas absolutely necessary for safety, this meant about half of the back yard. There were other areas that were not cosmetically appealing, but in the estimate, to keep the cost down, we decided to hold off on the cosmetic areas. In the end, the guys did all areas that needed attention, about 90% of the backyard (the remaining 10% didn?t have any safety or cosmetic issues so didn?t need to be done) and a portion of the front yard. We were shocked and thrilled to see how above and beyond they went. The yard looks incredible. Re-grading a yard requires some ancillary work, we didn?t give much thought to this work since we didn?t think we?d really notice it. For instance, we knew they would mow the areas that were being re-graded, but they mowed the entire lawn, front and back, and finished it off with edging (we live on a corner lot, lots of edging!) and leaf removal over the entire lawn. We knew they would trim part of a large shrub in the back yard because it was shading some of the new seed, and they trimmed the entire thing ? it took almost 2 hours, it would have only taken a half hour to do the necessary area. Our yard has never looked better! We had an underground drainage pipe installed. In the original estimate we were only going to do one and hold off on a second pipe that needed to be done until next year. When the guys finished the first pipe, they had materials on site to do the second, so they offered to do it at a moderate cost, and we happily agreed (especially after seeing the excellent job they did on the first one). Last, but certainly not least, we wanted to put in two trees to memorialize loved ones lost this year. Frank told us to pick out whichever trees we wanted (he offered some suggestions of trees that would serve as beautiful memorials), he then gave them to us at his wholesale cost, and really went above an beyond when he installed them for free. His guys made a special trip to the nursery to pick out the trees we had chosen, and then to our house (on a separate day from when they did the rest of the work) to install our trees, which took two guys a over two hours ? two hours that we were not charged for, and with the material given to us at cost, this was obviously not a profit driven job at all. We did not think we?d be able to afford this memorial for a few years, we are so grateful that Frank and Almost Perfect made it possible. It means so much to us and has already brought us much comfort. We can honestly say that we highly recommend Almost Perfect, we are thrilled with their work. Our yard has never looked better. We will definitely be using them for all of our future landscaping needs. Thanks Frank!

Frank and his team were exceptionally responsive to us as my husband and I are very busy and frequently fail to return phone calls. Even on vacation, Frank ensured that we were given the proper attention. His manager Martin came to review the job as soon as we were able to be there with him and we received a quote over the weekend. We had 3 workers over 8 hours who completely cleared a heavily overgrown area on the side of our house. The area had ivy growing up trees and the side of the house, as well as poison ivy scattered within. It is immaculate now. We are very happy with their attention, professionalism, and service. We will be hiring them again for future landscaping work now that the area is workable! Thank you Frank, Martin, and Team!!

Looks better than I imagined - the main work was creating a new parking space next to existing driveway for additional vehicles - Efficient, courteous workers completing the project professionally for the agreed to price. Frank Porter, the owner, also provided great advice on improving our lawn and cleaning up our trees to create more sunlight.

We did not get what we thought the buy it deal was supposed to provide....a written assessment and landscaping plan of our property. The individual that did the assessment was very knowledgable and very excited to talk about everything he knew to the point that we couldn't get him to stop. His assessments seemed to be on target...but he had the hurdle of not giving us a written assessment which started us in a slight negative attitude. In the end we did value for what we paid if not what we paid for. The estimate for what they wanted to do seemed rather high given that my yard is very very small. Thinking about it now, they still have to travel there and spend time even if it was such a small yard. In the end we didn't retain them and decided to do most of the work ourselves or put it off. We would consider talking to them again when the project is again on the forefront of our minds. I can't say how well they would have actually done the work....

We explained to Frank that our overgrown bushes and weedy, mossy patches were ruining the appearance of our property. He clearly explained his plans on that first day. When he heard our plan to lengthen the driveway so that weeds would not take over the area by the garage, he told us frankly that he had a better idea. And it was! The side of our home now looks much better than it would have with an extended driveway. There are attractive flowering bushes and large blue stones paving the way. He moved the overgrown bushes to the the side of the driveway, which was his own idea and again it was a great one. Then he planted shrubs, trees and flowers that he and I (plus two little kids) picked out from the local nursery. He was very friendly, mindful of the cost, prompt and 100% kept to his word. We highly recommend him.

Frank Porter is extremely responsive. His eye for design is fresh and innovative. Within one week of contact, he assessed our needs, provided a proposal, a verbal design plan, an estimate, selected and installed new plantings, and completed our job on time and on budget. Prior to our current 2013 project, we hired Almost Perfect Landscaping approximately three years ago. We found Frank on Angie's list and hired him to give our front yard a "face lift' and some curb appeal. At that time, we were in the middle of a contract with another lawn service company (who couldn't provide us with any guidance on creating said "face lift"), so we limited Frank's services to planting new shrubs and flowers. In the week he spent with us, he transformed not only our bland front yard, but the side yard as well, at no additional charge. The result was a spectacular fairy garden of ferns, boxwoods, rhododendron, bleeding hearts, pink and white impatiens, and a variety of perrenials which have grown more beautiful in the subsequent years. I explained to Frank that I enjoy gardening (except lawn care), and he designed a plan so that all I had to do was replace the annuals to achieve a refreshed landscape every season. Fast forward. After several years of attempting to grow a respectable lawn on a hillside under a sparwling ornamental Japanese maple tree, we considered sodding the area. We were told by three different landscaping /maintenance-type contractors that sod would never take on a hillside under the shade of the maple. So we hired someone to lay down new top soil, seed (and then reseed) the area, hired another specialist to spray fertilizer, weed and insect control products, all to no avail. The more we tried, the worse it looked. In desperation, we called Frank again, this time to advise us on whether to turn the "ungrassy knoll" into ground cover, shrubs or a rock garden. Frank was at our property within two days of our contacting him. He assured us that planting sod would be the best solution to our problem and also the correct decision from a design standpoint. He also recommended replacing the ivy and pachysandra that we were using in an area of the front yard (as "camoflouge" for the lack of green grass) with a colorful display of annual and perrenial plantings. The job was completed in less than one week from our initial phone call. Now, less than a month later, we have the most beautiful , lush lawn in the neighborhood and a lovely array of flowers and shrubs in place of the boring pachysandra and ivy. Neighbors (some are in the landscaping business and said what we were attempting couldn't be done) and perfect strangers have gone out of their way to comment on the transformation. In fact, the chemical fertilizer and weed control contractor said he thought he was at the wrong address when he showed up this week! We couldn't be more pleased with the job Frank and his crew accomplished in such short order. We have since decided to hire the Almost Perfect crew to do all our weekly maintenance, with no argument from our previous contractor who also complimented the work we had done. We are confident that Frank will treat our property as if it's his own. In summary, regarding "Almost Perfect Landscaping," we think Frank should drop the "Almost" in his company name!

Frank was very responsive from the start and did exactly what was needed. He also gave us some tips on how to proceed in next steps to reclaim our backyard. He was very knowledgeable. The team did an amazing job in clearing out the overgrown shrubs, weeds, and trees. The difference was night and day.

Few days before the job was performed, Frank came to the house and gave me an estimate. He arrived on time and was professional and very knowledgeable. Almost Perfect Landscaping team were very professional, completed the job on time, and cleaned up after the work was done. We are pleased with their work.

Frank is very attentive, and usually answers his phone (or calls back quickly)- unlike other companies that NEVER called me back. Simply, they do a great job, and neighbors have complimented me on my lawn.

Within 24 hrs. of calling Almost Perfect Landscaping, Frank Porter returned my call. The next day he was at our house, assessed what needed to be done and gave us a quote. Within 2 days, the job was done and we were very happy with the work. Mr. Porter was quick to respond, came when he said he would, was very professional and we felt that Almost Perfect Landscaping was, in fact, Perfect Landscaping.

I found Almost PerfectLandscaper on Angie's list on Monday 8/19 and left a message with a very professional and pleasant woman. The owner, Frank, called me back within a few hours the same day, and then came to my home do an estimate that evening! My son and I were so impressed with Frank as a person, warm, friendly, professional, engaging, really knowledgeable about his craft, and considerate and caring enough to work within my fixed budget. The next day he came with 2 trucks, and 6 men. In approximately 2 hours (I wasn?t home when they arrived) my yard was literally transformed!!! They took care of the big things, but it was the attention to detail that really was impressive. For example, I have a badly cracked driveway with a weeds growing through the cracks? all cleaned up! I went outside several times after they left, just to continue to admire the improvements. My home looked cleaner, updated and had improved curb appeal. I lived in my home for about 19 years and in that time I have used at least ½ dozen landscapers, but have never experienced the quality of work and the ?wow? factor that I received from this amazing landscaping job! The owner left a message that evening to check to see if I was pleased with the service, and again the next morning. I raved about my satisfaction, and thought the best way to thank him (and Angie?s List) was to write a review.

The quality of the work they do is outstanding and Frank stands behind whatever he does and works hard to keep us happy. He knows his business and proper plantings and the design is beautiful. I have received multiple compliments from neighbors and friends about how beautiful our house looks. He is responsive and highly professional. My only comment on the downside is cost. Quality does not come cheap and I understand that, but his labor costs are higher than other landscapers I surveyed. However, if I look at everything on the whole, Almost Perfect gets an A and I will continue to work with them as long as the money holds out.

Frank want available to do this job when I wanted it done. So I went with a other company I called frank after the job was done because I felt like I got ripped off and got bad work done. Frank guided me through what I should do with the other contractor how the job should have been done the right way. He spent about an hour of his time giving me free advise even though he didn't do the job. From my experiences with frank I would recommend his company to anyone that needs pavers.

My overall experience with them so far has been great. Their communication with what they are able to do is wonderful. They are very upfront with what they can get accomplished for you and when they will be able to service the area. He sounds like a true professional and will do the job well. I would recommend Almost Perfect to others in the future.

The sand was removed as asked. The piece of sod that was laid was comprised of two pieces and there was a gap between them. The bluestone was replaced appropriately. However, for some time the grass did not grow. We believe that this may because Frank was anxious to do the work and that he may have laid the sod and seeded when it was still too cold. We have since followed up ourselves and reseeded and fertilized the front and back lawns. While Frank did fill some holes in the back lawn...I would say that the lawn is still fairly uneven more than I expected. Frank did return to reseed the front and back lawns and in particular fill the space between the two pieces of sod. However, I thought the price for the work done was very high.

It was fine. He gave me what I wanted. I'm not sure if it was worth the price. I got a design for 99 dollars, that was worth it. But to say it was worth 500 dollars was bull. He came back and gave me the plans and an estimate. He was very nice. In the end, I got the design plans that I wanted. He was extremely kind and friendly.

Almost Perfect did an excellent job! Our landscaping needed a total makeover. Frank came to our house and listened to our concerns and needs for our landscaping. He could have easily told us to get sod, put in a sprinkler system etc to help us grow grass in our backyard. All of that would have cost us at least $5k for the backyard alone. But Frank wasn't trying to rob us. He told us it was possible to grow grass with seed alone. Granted, we wouldn't be getting the beautiful green grass this year, but with some TLC and more seeding next year, we could get a decent backyard. He saved us so much money! I also wanted to get this job done ASAP and Frank was more than willing to move his packed schedule around to get the job done. Frank is easy to work with and wants to hear your input. Together we went to the nursery and picked out various perennials, shrubs, and bushes. I told Frank what I liked and didn't like and he gave his professional input. The day of the job some of the items weren't there/switched. Frank had said that the ones we picked out were messed up by the rain and brought others that he thought would work nicely together. I wasn't too thrilled about his choices but without hesitation Frank brought other shrubs/bushes that he thought I would like better and I was pleased with the final choices. The day his crew came to do the job, it was expected to rain. And sure enough within a couple of hrs into the job, it started pouring. However, the crew diligently worked through the pouring rain until all the cleanup and major work was complete! They came two days later to finished the job. Overall we were very pleased with the job and would definitely hire Almost Perfect again!

I was moving into a new house and needed drainage issues addressed right away. It took almost a week before we found a time that worked, but once did, two people came over and discussed the issues with me at length. They were very professional, and said that they would get back to me soon with a price estimate. I never heard from them again.

They are prompt and do a good job. They are the best lawn company I have ever worked with.

It went great from start to finish. He quoted me a price and came and did the job well and quickly. I would definately use them again. And I recommend them highly.
