Initially I contacted the service provider and left message.. Then About 7-10 days later service provider called me by mistake thinking speaking with another customer. When I told him that I was not the person he was looking for then he asked me who am I. I explained him who I was and why/what I left message for. Then he told me he will check my placeand call me when he's at my house. Which he did. We discussed and agreed about what to do and then he told me he will call me with the price. Never did. That was the last conversation I had with the service provider. I understand about busy schedule and also I understand you might be overwhelmed with jobs because of Angie's list website but dialing my number by mistake and not calling me when you said you would is not professionalism. The owner came out to assess my property the same day I called and once there he contacted me at my office and provided his professional opinion of my current conditions. Frank was honest in his assessment and actually told me that my yard was not in as bad of shape as I had originally indicated. He was extremely knowledgeable about what was required to restore my yard to optimal health and within less than an hour he emailed me a very reasonable proposal. Frank was very patient answering all of my questions and was quick to offer various solutions to my needs --including those that were not financially beneficial to him. It is obvious that he knows how to run a successful business as evidenced by the number of positive reviews he has received as well as the fact that his employees have been loyal to him over the decades. I feel confident that I have found my last landscaper and would be more than happy to recommend him and his crew to other homeowners.

Almost Perfect was amazing. Frank the owner took the time to walk the property with me and give suggestions and ideas. He was very knowledgable and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need. The work itself is amazing and the maintenance so far has been perfect. I highly recommend Almost Perfect.

This turned out good. I liked dealing with them. Getting some follow up appointments was kind of tricky, however, because they are pretty busy. But the quality of the work and price was A+. We contracted them for some pool work after the fact. I've recommend them in the past and would recommend them again.

I initially called Frank about Landscaping. We needed to transplant a few trees to obtain more privacy. Frank came over and I was impressed with Frank's knowledge. We didn't move forward with the larger project, but we did hire Frank for lawn maintenance and a smaller project where we needed to clean up underneath the deck. Frank's team does a great job and his prices are fair.

At first meeting, we were enamored with Frank. He is extremely passionate about what he does and has excellent subject matter expertise on flora. We made the immediate decision to go with Frank and gave him a verbal agreement to move forward. After the agreement, we reached out to Frank several times for a sketch (providing him a copy of our survey per his request) and to firm up plans and cost. Each time we met with or spoke to Frank it was like starting from ground 0. He came by our house a second time (showed up hours early with no call) and remembered no details of anything we discussed. We followed up with Frank via e-mail a week later, and got no response. My husband called Frank two days later requesting a final quote and sketch, to which Frank was very aggressive. We also referred frank to our in-laws who had a similar experience. I really wanted to go with Frank because his experience and passion were exactly what we were looking for but his unresponsiveness, lack of organization and flakiness made it impossible.

Went wonderfully to the point where we hired frank to come back and do the regular maintenance of the landscaping this year.

Almost Perfect did a great job in planning and insstalling our landcaping last April. They recommended a sprinkler company that we used and coordinated the installation along with the new sod installation. We also used them for snow removal this past winter and they were here quickly following each of our many snowfalls. They are easy to work with and reliable. Keep our yard as one of the best looking on the block. We also used their company to replace our side entrance door and storm door, remodel our basement recreation room, laundry room and furnace room. All work was done on time and withing budget.

Having never used a landscaper before I depended on Angie's list to give me reviews. I was very happy with Frank whom i contacted . He responded to my request within 24 hours. Frank came and looked at our property and gave us a quote. After his crew performed the service, the bill was exactly what he quoted. He required a check before the work was performed, but he didn't cash the check until after the work was finished. The crew included aeration of the grass as well as cleaning up all the left over leaves and digging of the flower beds. I listed the price as a B even though I don't know what others are paying for the same service from other companies. We are satisfied with Frank and will use him on a weekly basis to mow the grass.

Frank Porter from Almost Perfect Landscaping was extremely professional, honest, and quick to respond. He took time to educate us about our landscaping and did not try to sell us more services than we needed. We had him come by last fall to discuss reseeding/fertilizing our yard, as well as fix up our walkway. Although plans for the walkway got dropped off his radar for a few months, Frank took ownership of the delay and saw that the job was completed right away. The crew was very professional, thorough, and courteous. Our walkway looks great and we are excited to see our lawn finally green up for the season. Looking forward to having him come back to design our landscaping!

Frank and his crew were reliable , professional and courteous at all times. Frank, who is the owner, was very attentive to what we wanted done and stayed within our budget. We will most definitely have him return in the Spring to complete our landscaping needs in our property. Frank is a very honest, trustworthy, caring and passionate individual who puts his clients needs at the forefront.

We had always done our fall cleanup ourselves until this year. I hired Frank and his team due to the stellar reviews they have received on Angie's List. He came by on a day that I was not home and surveyed the property to give me an estimate. He was extremely responsive, professional and followed up immediately. I was on vacation when the work was performed. But when I arrived back home from vacation- I admired the neatly manicured trees (more thorough work than I expected), a clean leaf-free yard, clean beds and clear gutters. The work was done exceptionally well and dealing with Frank is a pleasure. I will tell my neighbors about Frank and his team and recommend them highly to anyone else interested in landscaping services. We are hiring Frank and his team for additional landscaping services for spring and summer.

We had contacted Almost Perfect to clean-up and re-organize the landscaping around the house as well as to bring the lawn back to life, especially in the back. Frank, the owner, contacted us promptly and visited the house offering excellent suggestions at a reasonable price. Once the project began, Frank and his team worked quickly to surpass our expectations. Frank and his crew were professional throughout the process with great attention to detail often going above and beyond. The landscaping work looks great and the lawn is well on its way to being restored back to health. I would highly recommend Almost Perfect to anyone.

They were punctual and responsive but, they were not professional and the quality of their work was not good. They were also a bit pricier and tried to sell me on other things. I will probably not use them again.

I had originally hired this contractor for leaf cleanup last fall. As they offered snow removal also, and I was pleased with their work on the leaves, I contracted for snow removal on a incident by incident basis. The service has been almost perfect. The team comes as soon as the snow stops (they came once at 4 AM) and they clear my driveway and walks in 15 minutes, regardless of how much snow has fallen (and that is a lot this season!) Very professional, easy to work with, and thorough.

They did a good job and I was happy with the service.

Frank came out to our residence and surveyed everything on our property, while we were on the phone. (we were not at home) He seemed very nice and knowledgeable. However, he recommended an entire clean and rip out of the ground cover, because there was poison ivy in with the ground cover, as well. (he had great vision and idea for the area, as far as the plantings) He said he did not want to send his guys in there to pull out the poision ivy. We were quoted 3000 for the clean out and 3000 in landscaping plantings. The reason we did not move forward is that we did not want to to do an entire overhaul of the area with new plantings. (we like the ground cover) We ended up hiring someone for the poison ivy and honeysuckle removal and will decide in the future what we want to do with the area. We did not have the branches trimmed, so the blooms for this spring wouldnt be compromised...we will have that done after the tree blooms.

The work was done is less than 1 day with approximately 4 workers who were all courteous and professional. All was done within ordered specification. Some plants did not flourish as expected due to an oversight of proper irrigation but a follow up visit was scheduled to rectify.

Frank was prompt and immediately took charge - he spent a ton of time with us and knew what to do for our yard. He had lots of great ideas and really took the time to think things through before offering an opinion. His passion for what he does shines through. And all my neighbors commented about how he was able to bring our Ridgewood yard back to life! Compared to several other landscapers in the area, Frank was timely and guaranteed he could get the job done quickly. His proposal seemed much more customized than several of the others, and the price was very reasonable. I trust Frank and would recommend him to anyone.

The whole job included 3 flower beds: right side, left side and along front walkway. In our first call to him we felt as though he was doing us a favor by finding time to 'get out there' (his words) which is exactly 10.5 miles from where he is located. Since he said he had a lot of jobs in his area, the only times he had available for an initial visit were either at 7:00am or between 6:00-6:30pm -- which makes it very difficult for people who work. According to Angie's List, we were to receive a Design Proposal & Conceptual Plan in writing, as well as 2 visits, a site visit and a plan presentation visit. Instead we received 1 visit, a site visit. The plan presentation visit was a one-line email with proposed cost of job of $7700. We had to send another email asking for a picture of what it would look like so we could get some kind of idea of what the $7700 encompassed. He said he would have his designer put something together, and then he sent us back 3 unimpressive pictures with sparse landscaping. That was the extent of his Conceptual Plan. Since it was March 15 when we contacted him, we asked if perhaps he could do 1/2 of the work (left and right front beds) in the Spring, and 1/2 in the Fall. His answer was No. He was extremely unprofessional and acted as though he had plenty of work and didn't need ours. We couldn't figure out why he even placed the ad in Angie's List. It has taken us a year and a half to write this review because we were so put-off by his attitude. Needless to say, we did not hire him. Subsequently, we went to another landscaper, R&S Landscaping (also an Angie's List member), who went above and beyond the scope of the work for a total completed job of $6118.00. We are using them now for monthly plant maintenance and are extremely happy with their professionalism and work ethic.

We had always did our fall cleanup ourselves, until 4 years ago. It typically took 2 weekend days by 3 of us to clear all of the leaves, compost some, and put the rest out for the town to pick up. Then the town started requiring leaves to be bagged rather than piled on the curb. This made it much less fun, so we started looking for contractors to do the heavy work. I will say that every one of the contractors we hired did an excellent job, but the hassles and costs were not as good - until this year when we brought in Frank Porter and his Almost Perfect Landscaping. Frank came by just before Thanksgiving and said he could do the work within the next 10 days for $600. In the past we once paid $2400, and the next two years were $750, so this sounded too good to be true. And it was fixed price, not an hourly rate. His 8 man crew arrived on the day promised at 2 in the afternoon. They went right to work, and had all of our leaves in their rather large truck by 3:30 - just an hour and a half. 4 guys with backpack blowers, a leaf plough on a lawn tractor, a leaf vacuum to get the leaves into the truck, a ground blower and a lawn mower for a final cut of the season. They also completed edging and trimming, and even cleared leaves from our neighbor's adjoining side yard. The project manager coordinated everything, including keeping me "in the loop." This is the most impressive landscape contractor I have ever dealt with. Well equipped, a team that has obviously worked together, rather than the more common day laborer pickup team; I recommend them highly.

The job was well done, and the yard is ready for the winter. The landscaping crew came over to perform the work the same day that I called.

Fantastic, lots of personal communication and ideas. Punctual, courteous and great standard of work. Looking forward to a long relationship as this team will be a my first call for any necessary work.

Why we picked them: We had several other quotes from Angie's List providers, but Frank was the most affordable, was very willing to work with us to stay on our budget, didn't propose "over engineering" a drainage solution like some providers did, and could start immediately. Working style: Frank made several visits to our property to discuss the project and made it clear throughout the process that if at any time we decided that he wasn't the provider for us, there would be no hard feelings. It was a very low-pressure approach, which is similar to how I would describe his overall approach to work. We are kind of the OCD type when it comes to home stuff, so we were a bit uncomfortable with Frank's working style at first-- he is not very "buttoned up" like some highly rated landscaping companies are. Examples of this were that he preferred to go to the nursery with us and pick out material not having a plan drawn beforehand, quotes are not very detailed. However, the results were great and Frank was dedicated to working through it with us until it was right (e.g. bringing in some additional plants once on-site). Once you've reached a comfort level with his more laid-back style, you'll feel great knowing that it will turn out well. Budget: After our nursery visit with Frank, we ended up much higher than his initial estimate. We went back through what we'd picked to sub out some materials until we were back within budget. Frank spent considerable time working with us to get back down to where we felt comfortable (e.g. another nursery visit, which he was happy to do), and the end product didn't suffer. Knowledge: Feel confident that Frank will steer you in the right direction when it comes to selecting material and laying out beds. He is very knowledgeable about what will work well together, what can go in shady vs sunny areas, how much space to allow, where to just go for filler Work quality: Frank's team is extremely meticulous, skilled, and courteous. We were very pleased with their quality-- beds look beautiful, no corners were cut (e.g. fully removing existing plants), they welcomed our input throughout the project, and completed the work in just 2.5 days once on-site.
