+ -1 moreThe bad AC unit had frost/icing on the line outside going into the outside unit and he indicated that he could not repair that now and it probably be replaced which could be costly. He then started working on the other unit and replaced a potentially failing part and charged $180 which was ($110 service charge plus $70 for the part). So I'm out $180 and still don't have a working unit. Avoid this guy at all costs.
Description of Work: I called them to fix an issue with one of our two central air conditioning units that was not working.

+ -1 moreIt was an extremely disconcerting experience. I am not sure what the answer is - I tried to check references; called different customers; met with 3 different companies. Let the buyer beware - you never know until it happens to you. I will never recommend this company and was terribly upset that they had such a good rating with Angies List. I have not used Angies List again.
Description of Work: We had A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning install a new central air conditioner. I did my research. I checked Angies List; received a large list of referrals from the owner and called 5 different people on the list. Turns out that they installed the wrong unit upstairs - it did not work with the unit they installed downstairs. It worked for the first summer, but then the start of warm weather in 2010 - it stopped! We had sold the house and the new owners were livid. I gave them the information from A-1 Heating and the calls were not returned; I had to call them. Then when we spoke the owner of A-1 Heating he was rude and accused US of changing the unit!!!! We had to pay an outside company to fix the problem since A-1 would not respond to our request. I would NEVER recommend this company and will be taking them to court.

+ -1 moreAfter finding this company on Angie's List, I called, and my call was returned promptly. We received an estimate, proposal, and references the next day. The estimate was fair and honest. The technicians arrived promptly on the appointed date. They removed the old furnace, put down a slab, installed a new Rudd furnace and digital thermostat in one day, and completed the work on the humidifier the next morning. The technicians were polite, professional, pleasant, and extremely accommodating. The owner of the company visited and explained everything. Everything was cleaned up. The price matched the estimate. I will hire this company again for other work.
Description of Work: Three technicians installed a new Rudd furnace, humidifier, and digital thermostat. We had heat in one day and the job was completed in a day and a half.

+ -1 moreA-1 Heating & Air Conditioning were so very accommodating to our schedule. They really tried to inconvenience us a little as possible. These are great people who work there. Everyone we talked to was polite and friendly. Their price was fine. They installed a top of the line Ruud furnace and air conditioner.
Description of Work: They replaced the central air conditioning unit and the furnace in our 2500 square foot home. They removed the old equipment prior to installing the new system.

Description of Work: They serviced my air conditioner this spring. I have a 5 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom home. They checked all of the parts and cleaned them.

+ -1 moreTHE COMPANY WAS GOOD AT THEIR JOB. THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND THEY FOUND SOME OTHER PROBLEMS WITH MY SYSTEM AND FIXED THEM WITHOUT ME ASKING. THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND I THOUGHT THEY CHARGED A FAIR PRICE.
