Tree removed in hours (including stump grinding) - safely!

Very well. They were on time and neat. Thought the price was a bit steep, but worth it for the services provided.

The work was timely, and excellent. Not a single hitch. And they were incredibly neat. Except for the stump it'd be hard to know there was a 60 foot maple in this spot.

Very professional and prompt appointment process and the estimator arrived exactly on time. John, who I believe is an arborist and not just some guy with a chain saw, was extremely knowledgeable about the type of tree and explained how it would grow after it was cut. The crew came out exactly when scheduled and was also very professional. I had to leave before the work was finished and when I returned home I saw the tree was not cut below gutter height, which is what was contracted. I immediately called them up and explained the issue. As soon as John came back out, before I even said a word, he said "that's not below gutter height". He explained all work was guaranteed and they would come out and trim the tree further. I made a total of 6 calls before they finally came out about a month or so after the initial appointment. After each of the first two calls I was given a date on which they would finish the job. Neither time did they show. After that, on one day alone I called 3 times because after the first two calls they claimed they would call me back with a new date. Finally, I left a message saying I want to either speak to the owner or get a full refund. Finally, John, the original estimator and scheduler, called me back and guaranteed a date. They did show up and finish the job. All through this the staff was always respectful. Had they just come out the second time to finish the job they would have received an "A" rating and I would recommend them to anyone.

Great! When coming out for the initial quote, John took the time to explain everything that was needed and why. I had a second company come out for another quote, they seemed less knowledgeable and wanted to charge the same price. I wanted to save some wood for firewood, the crew moved everything to our garage so I wouldn't have to carry it. The second time was a much smaller job, but they crew was prompt and nice to work with.

The price was really good and reasonable. Unfortunately with me being the only one working i couldnt scrape up the payment due. So in the meantime im looking forward to hiring them in the next few weeks once we have the money set to the side.

It went very well! Estimate was free and the best part was that John showed up about an hour after I called. Got the estimate later that day. I appreciated the quick turnaround. It took about 3 hours total and the guys left the backyard very clean once they were done. The trimmed trees look great and they performed the work exactly as expected. I will call them again in the future.

John Lang one of the owners of friendly tree experts came over to inspect the scope of work. He seemed quite knowledgeable as an arborist & as they say talked a good game. We regrettably awarded them the job. The first thing I noticed when the workers came is that John was not there to oversee the job nor anyone else that we could communicate with. The overall work was generally fair however they committed a catastrophic error by instead of just thinning a few low branches between the two houses the workers completely cut off ALL the branches up to twenty feet high. When my wife saw the end result from our deck she cried.The privacy between the two houses was entirely lost. Previous to this we had almost complete privacy provided from the limbs on the maples. They served as a beautiful barrier between the two houses and from my deck. We subsequently contacted the company to complain and John Lang did come out to go over the problem with us. He took offense when I remarked his workers butchered the trees however he seemed rather amused by it all and commented that his guys “broccoli the trees”. He did however mention a few possible solutions. We could wait for the tree limbs to grow out again however I should live so long or we could plant large shrubs that would grow to provide privacy. Oh by the way he did not offer to pay not even one dime to resolve the problem. Since that time other tree experts I have used said not only did he destroy our privacy but by cutting all the lower tree branches it weakens their ability to withstand high winds as it has a whiplash effect. I have now spent an additional $2,500 to provide some level of privacy between the two homes & I am not done yet. I would be happy to provide photos of the before & after view from my deck.

The crew was professional and experts in their field. Truly impressive to watch them remove a tree that we loved. They even spent time showing us why our decision to finally cut down our tree was correct. They pointed out the diseased inner portions that had started to cause our branches to shed in high winds. We have a property with many trees and shrubs. John provided excellent advice. His crew rrived on time, were efficient and am very pleased with the outcome. Highly recommended

It rained on the scheduled day, do they came in the next day promptly on a Saturday. I has asked for the following work:- Front Yard - Cut down 1 dead tree and trim down 2 trees that were covering the front of the house or hanging on the electric wires. Back Yard - Trim down 3 trees - touching down the roof/gutters/back yard and another hanging over from the neighbors into my yard. The initial cut was supposedly done, but when I went out to inspect, the trees were not properly cut - rather minimum / half the amount of cutting was done where I would have to call them again in a month. The I asked them to further cut down each and every tree, so that would cover the work for the estimate I was given. I supervised some of the cutting after which the crew understood what I had asked for. Also, I assumed that cutting down the dead tree included removal of the stump - this was not done by the workers. They cut the tree with the stump above the ground - this can be dangerous if kids are running around in the front yard. Overall, I would say they performed below the expectations and its not reflective of the reviews of this vendor.

He came out the same day (Saturday) and he instantly knew every species of plant and tree I have on my property.? He explained what they would do and how and also provided some great insight into the other species of trees on my property as well. Two days later they performed their magic and trees and stumps were gone and some other trees were pruned back?all is right with the world again. John, his brother and their team?were ?professional and the experience could not have been better.?

All went smoothly, as anticipated, having used Friendly Tree in the past. John came after my request for a free quote for what we wanted done. He showed up when he said he would. He provided insight into our 2 yew bushes that were very old and tall and wide and blocking our porch windows. They had grown to the point it was impossible for us to prune / or trim with a trimmer or hand saw (branches were that thick). We decided to have them removed to the stump (ground). We showed him a tree limb in the backyard, which contained a nest and which was getting very close to our back roof. He explained it was a squirrel nest. He saw another tree further back in our yard with deadwood hanging. We also asked that they trim a very old and out of shape forsythia bush that we used to trim in a round shape, but after several years of major snow storms, the bush had collapsed. We asked that, if possible, the work be done before Christmas. Friendly Tree worked us into their schedule sooner than we expected, which was great. We purchased 2 prelit spiral Christmas trees to put in place of the yews for the holidays. As with our first experience using Friendly Tree, they performed all the work they were supposed to do and cleaned up all debris. Also should mention that we have no access (by cars, trucks) to our backyard so they've worked around that. Can't say enough about Friendly Tree.

Although the job was not an emergency, John came out within 24 hours of my initial call to discuss the project. John is a trained arborist and obviously knows (and loves) trees. He was able to recommend the appropriate course of action for each of the trees in question for our front and back yards based on our plans for the space and his professional opinion. I received a written estimate within an hour of the initial meeting, and we were able to schedule the work very promptly after that. I received a certificate of insurance upon request, with no problems. The entire work crew was clearly professional, with an attention to safety and detail. The company has the proper equipment to complete the job properly, quickly and safely. The entire job, including stump grinding was completed in less than one day. In summary, fantastic from start to finish. I would recommend them.

Went smoothly.I couldn't be home during their business hours, so we arranged for a person to come over and look at what needed to be done, and then give me an estimate. I was given a written estimate by email, and then scheduled service. Communication was excellent. Workers called me on my cell, to tell me they had arrived and were beginning work. I was called later on, and told they noticed a dying shrub that they recommended be pulled out. They took care of that for free. Someone came back the next day to pull out remaining roots, and to seed the lawn, where some grass had been disturbed. My neighbor was home when they were doing the work, and she was very impressed with the company,

Have used Friendly previously on 3 or 4 occasions over past years. Have always been satisfied with their work. They arrived on time, did this immense job safely and cleaned up completely before leaving. It was a pleasure to watch this team of professionals accomplish this dangerous and risky job. If I have reason to get tree work done again, I will not bother to get other estimates. I will call Friendly.

John was very responsive. His team came by the property and gave us an estimate - they offered to not only remove our Sweet Gum tree but do some trimming for our large, overgrown maple and hemlock trees in our back yard (where we don't get much sun). The work was done promptly - they cleaned up very well afterwards (we came home after work and could hardly tell they had been there!) They even kept the debris out of our neighbor's yard, which was a big deal to me. I really appreciate the fantastic job that the team did. Book with confidence!

I can actually say I love this company. Hired them twice within the span of a few months. John, who came out both times to take a look at the jobs I wanted done, is incredibly nice, professional, and very knowledgeable. His whole team are very professional and they did a great job cleaning up. I live in an area with a lot of trees and will definitely call them again if and when I need them out. Very satisfied with their work!

From the estimate to completion everything went just as planned. On time, professional, neat. Will definitely use again.

They were prompt, did the work needed and even called me to ask if I wanted a dead tree taken out. Very professional, easy to work with and efficient!

We just settled out the matter amiably. There was a disagreement regarding the work. He was polite about it. But he just said he couldn't do it. I paid him for picking up some shrubs that were lying on the ground. But he never did the tree service. He moved some brush and things that I had cut down earlier. It was more of a cleanup than a tree service. He went out there and he said, "Here is the price." I said, "Okay. Let's do the work." He comes back and calls me up and says, "Oh, I don't know why I gave you that price. This price is going to have to change." I said, "You can't do that. You can't go and give a price and then..." He said, "I was thinking of something else." We just went back and forth and I just said, "Listen. Since I already paid and agreed to pay you the sum of money that I agreed, would you pick up the brush for the amount of money that I am willing to pay for the tree?" He said, "Yeah. That's fine. But I can't do the tree." I said, "Okay." That's what the final resolution was. He did a good job cleaning up the area.

They were super! Very professional,punctual,and did what they promised without me having to follow up.
