I left a message and Dave returned my call promptly. He agreed to set up a time the following morning and he arrived when he said he would. He quickly identified the problem and replaced the leaking pipe. Dave was very professional and a pleasure to work worth. I highly recommend using Archer and Sons for any of your plumbing needs. I will use them again in the future.

I called Archer Plumbing in the early morning on 10/31/2013, explained the problems described above, and Dave Archer arrived at our house by noon the same day. He quickly and accurately assessed what needed to be done, giving me two reasonable estimates--one which would correct the leak but keep the same parts, and a second which was a total replacement. I chose the second option. He also gave me an estimate on the second-floor toilet. I was extremely impressed with how Dave gave me a choice to fix the leak, depending on my budget and short or long-term plans for the house. l had been very concerned that in order to fix the leak in the ceiling kitchen, the plumber might have to break through tiles upstairs. (The tile is no longer available, and we have only five replacement tiles.) Dave assured me he would not have to do this, and he was right in his judgment. Dave went about his work immediately and neatly, He laid down tarps, gathered his necessary tools from his truck outside, and went to work skillfully and expeditiously. The whole job was done in under three hours. He was professional in every way. He also has a strong, uncommon design sense. The fixtures are chrome in this older bathroom. A former plumber had used a nickel faceplate which really didn't match. Dave provided a stylish chrome faceplate, much better than the former one, as well as a very attractive coordinating chrome toilet handle. I looked up the company's website at www.archerplumbing.com and learned that this is a family-run business handed down from a father to his sons with a long tradition of pride and excellence. Dave embodied this fine record of customer satisfaction, and I highly recommend him and the company overall.

They repaired a leak coming from a pipe the went up to the roof. They were timely and pleasant. Although the pricing was much more than expected.

Was prompt and professional. Easily explained the repair and the costs in detail. All went as planned and was done quickly. Also had them replace an outdoor water valve.

The only bad part about the service was really the pricing. While I did not meet him personally Dave sounded very professional over the phone and most importantly knew what he was doing. This whole scenario started when I purchased a dishwasher from the home depot- the price of which included installation. When the home depot installer ( who is not licensed to touch pipes and gas lines ) arrived at my home he was not able to perform the install- reason being the new dishwasher had a 3/4 inch drain while my current hookup was only for 1/2 inch. When Dave arrived on the scene and looked at the job- the initial pricing was actually $100.00 higher but as he got into the job in a bit more detail it turned out to be even easier than he initially estimated- all that being said- Dave was nice enough to take off the $100 bill and while I appreciate the $100- the job did not even last 90 minutes and I was billed $466.56- simple math tells me that is close to or just slightly over $300.00 per hour. I am not against professional tradesmen making money because they have the skill and I don't- but the pricing for this particular job was off the charts. If I had more time I would have easily shopped around more. It would not be fair for me to say that this particular incident is a reflection of the company as a whole but for me and for my experience this was down right thievery. Needless to say if an additional price adjustment is not in the cards these folks will never see the inside of my home again.

It was super smooth, quality, and quick. Dave made the process really simple. I called around 10:40Am and Dave arrived a little after 11:00am. He explained what was wrong and the different options with pricing. I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and neighbors. William Archer and Son are now the official plumbers of my household.

They came to my home promptly, did their work and left. The area was as clean when they left as it was when they started. They explained and showed me what they were going to do. I was very impressed with the professionalism. And the water heater that they recommended has exceeded my expectations by a large margin.

Have been using Archers for the last five years, since we moved into our house. They have installed our sump pumps over the years, blew out the french drains and installed a vacuum backup system for the sump pumps, if the electricity goes off. When Sandy hit last year, we lost our electricity for 11 days and the backup system worked like a charm. If we wouldn't have had the backup sustem, our basement would have flooded the first day our electricity went out. Couldn't ask for a better company and service guys to deal with. Highly recommend.

After a small glitch with scheduling, plumber arrived as discussed on phone. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. He ran the water in my stall shower for about 5 minutes, after which we noticed no leaks from the ceiling below. As he was preparing to depart the shower started leaking. He determined the source of dripping water as faulty caulking around the shower door. He suggested a tile person might best qualified to replace the caulking and recommended checking for leaks after the caulk was replaced and before replacing the ceiling underneath. Very accurate diagnosis. Based on that experience I would call them again.

I've used Archer and Son for many years; in both my current and previous houses. They are responsive and have always fixed what was needed. In this particular case, I thought that the price was a bit high, but I'm good with these guys and I wouldn't want to go to someone cheap who wouldn't do the job right. Our kitchen pull-up faucet was leaking, and the problem ended up being in the hose. They first case to assess the problem and then came back once they got a new hose.

Prompt response to a Sunday evening emergency call. Checked the job, quoted a price. Noted that when the high efficiency furnace had been installed, the required stainless steel chimney liner had not been installed. Completed the water heater installation within a day, exactly as scheduled. Returned the next week to install the chimney liner. They do seem a bit excessive with the Archer stickers, tags, etc all over the basement. Price was comparable to what others have paid for similar services, which seems high compared to the price of the water heater alone. But unlike another company that replaced a water heater for my elderly in-laws, Archer did not pad the bill with ridiculous charges ($100+ for a simple ball valve) for extraneous parts.

Had a leak by the water meter, called Archer and left message, they called back with in minutes. Scheduled the date, they called that day about 15 minutes before coming. They inspected the leak and it was determined we needed a horm that the water meter sits on, it was determined that only the water municipality of my town could replaced the part. Although I had to pay for the the service call, I would definitely us them again. They were very professional and even made the phone call to schedule an appt for the townhip to come fix the leaky part.

They are very good at what they do. They are very professional. They can be sometimes overpriced but for the most part, they are reasonable.

Needed new sink in old vanity. Archer was able to accomodate our needs and completed the job much to our satisfaction.

Prompt service. Extremely courteous, friendly and professional. Came well prepared. Would call again.

I got the name of Archer and Sons from Angie's List. I called for an estimate on Monday, and Dave came promptly on Tuesday for a very thorough and accurate evaluation of the work to be performed. He recommended that we replace the toilet, which was twenty years old, rather than repair it. He advised that he could replace the spigot/shower diverter without breaking the tile. We thought also that we might need a sump pump in the basement, but after a thorough evaluation and analysis, Dave advised that we really didn't need one. He is also very honest. In addition, Dave matched very carefully the color of the new American Standard toilet with the linen color of the existing sink. He has a keen eye for details. Dave ordered the new toilet, came within a week, and did the entire job within three hours at a reasonable price matching the original estimate. Overall, he and Mike did an excellent job and I highly recommend them. They were courteous, prompt, knowledgable, experienced, and professional in every way. We have finally found a permanent plumber!

I called this company 'cause I saw some advertisements around my neighborhood. I needed a sump pump to be replaced. He comes in and looks around the entire basement and starts putting stickers of the company on every single equipment and pipe. I'm thinking to myself...what does he think he's doing? I let it go 'cause I wasn't sure yet how much replacing the sump pump was. He finally comes to the sump pump and gives me an estimate along with other things I should do. I tell him thanks but no thanks. Now I have a basement with stickers of his company everywhere when I didn't even end up using him. How annoying and irritating it is.

After researching on Angie's list, I called them on 6/4 and received an appointment right away. Dave was on time and called ahead to let me know he was on his way and to make sure I was home. He came in and diagnosed the problem. Provided an estimate shortly after going back to truck. I initially thought the price was high but I really cannot make that assertion since I did not get more than one estimate. I agreed to the price and Dave and his partner replaced the piping very quickly and cleaned up all the mess. Everything seems to be OK so far. I will update if otherwise. The plumber that my husband called a while ago was a no show after several attempts. I will not be doing business with him anymore and will contact William Archer and Sons again if the need arises.

We smelled gas. The gas company came out, confirmed it, and turned off our gas. We called Archer at about 7pm. They offered to come out that night, but they said it would be a lot less expensive if they came out the next day. They pointed out that getting the gas company out to turn on the gas probably wouldn't happen until the next day anyway. We agreed. They called first thing in the morning and gave a 1.5 hour range for when they would arrive. They called when they were on their way to let me know exactly when they would arrive. He studied the situation and gave me an estimate. He mentioned the possibility for charges to be even more if certain problems with old pipes arose. When I agreed, he began the work, told me when to call the gas company to unlock the meter, met with the gas company guy to assure everything was working, and then cleaned up as if he wasn't there. Update: I spoke with a second plumber and learned that the price was appropriate. It was an expensive repair, and it was going to be expensive no matter who did the work.

I called on a Sunday for emergency service. I called and left a message and received a call back about 10 minutes later. The gentleman I spoke to explained there would be an extra $127.40 to come on Sunday and I agreed because I wasn't going to be around most of the week. It took the technician about 5 hours from when I called to arrive at my home but I expected to wait longer than usual since it was Sunday. John arrived and asked me what the problem was and he got right to work. Everything was completed in less than an hour - the clog was cleared. He clearly explained to us what was done and gave us some pointers to avoid the situation in the future.

Called first thing in the AM for an important (though non-emergency) repair. They arrived later in the morning for an estimate and gave some advice on some service options. They came back in the afternoon at the time promised and completed the repair. Didn't leave a mess, which is also nice. They were on the high-end of what I expected to pay, but I think I got good value for my money.

I made an appointment with this company for June 20, 2011. They told me that they would show up between 8:30 a.m. to 12 o'clock in the afternoon. I was also told that they would give me a call when they were on their way. They never showed up and they never called. When I called the company for an explanation as to why they did not show up, the gentlemen who answered the phone just told me that he could have somebody at my house in an hour or so. He did not give me a reason for not keeping their appointment until I asked for one. He did not offer an apology until after I told him that they had wasted half of my day waiting for them. It was clearly an insincere apology. Obviously, I told him not to bother to show up. This company's lackadaisical attitude towards prospective customers is not a good indication of how they will behave during and after their performance of service. I would steer clear of this company.

My family has been using Archer plumbing for years. My home was in need of a boiler and water heater, as well as some water pipe replacement. Called Archer and john one of the sons of the company came out and explained in detail all my options for the work needed to be done. Needless to say Archer plumbing did the work, I was very happy with all that was done. John Archer did all the work with some help from some of his employes. Not that i would expext anything diffrent. To top it off when the inspectors came to inspect they told me they just needed to look but new we were in good hands knowing already who did the work. After inspecting the work the plumbing / electrical inspectors told me they were very impressed and not many plumbers impress them with the proper way to install a boiler he gave much praise to Archer plumbing. This just confirmed why my family put full trust in them and would recomend them hands down.....

It was a good service. They are prompt. A great company.

Showed up right on time, very pleasant and professional. I appreciated the willingness to answer questions and provide options for dealing with the issue. Price was pretty much what I expected so no surprises there. What was great is we tried the "simple" fix first and he offered to come back to do the more complex fix if needed and would credit some of what I payed that day to the future fix. I was very happy and will use them again when we remodel our bath.
