Time Line for Phase Out of Refrigerant R22 - In the year 1987 conference was held, where a protocol by the name “Montreal Protocol” was signed by a number of countries to phase out the use and production of CFC refrigerants. US is one of the 190 countries where the manufacturing of R22 has to be stopped in phase manner and where the alternatives have to be found out. When I purchased two new ac systems from Joe - he didn't mention this. I spent a lot of money on the two systems in 2011 and 2012. Now one of the systems has an a/c leak and - 2019 - is the time when its going to be difficult to purchase the R22 Freon and soon - I'm going to have to replace both systems anyway. Seems quite unfair that Joe - who seems to be a nice guy - would sell me two ac/furnace systems that would become obsolete within ten years.
Description of Work: Installed new ac and heating furnace 8/6/12.

The heating system works perfectly now and we will have the new humidifier installed next week. By the way, Joe is having a piece of stainless steel cut for us as a shield for the underside of the mantle, because he wants to make sure that the mantle, I installed doesn't capture excessive heat.
Description of Work: I have used Joe in the past. We purchased our house new and the 2nd floor split heating system never worked correctly. Two years ago, Joe came in and revamped the entire system, redoing the duct work, adding ducts and replacing the HVAC system. The system works beautifully and our electric and gas costs have gone down. He needed to complete the job on Christmas Eve and wouldn't go home to join his wife in their holiday celebration until the system worked just right. This morning, I called Joe because our thermostat was reading 66 and the heat blew cold and was set to 71 degrees. Joe recalibrated the thermostat and actually spent two hours to see if the problem would re-occur. During this time, he shared his knowledge about the heating system and gave valuable information about a gas, direct vent fireplace that was recently installed, stated that we needed a larger humidifier because the fireplace would dry out the house, (actually the one installed on the furnace has always been ineffective) and dispelled our concerns about the enclosure. Again, he didn't leave till he was sure that we were satisifed. Joe treats each of his customers as a friend and he works hard to develop that trust.
