Pella Windows and Doors

my experience was excellent, the sales person was great , very helpful, but the installation crew was phenomenal, they did a excellent job, I'm very pleasant with the quality of the windows and doors.

I am currently in dispute with Pella over costs to correct their mistakes. I ordered 15 replacement windows in August 2015. I have decorative window coverings over my windows. This presented a great issue to Pella; they claimed that they could not cap the windows. As these decorative window frames covered the outside of the windows, I agreed. They also offered to remove the decorative frames because, in their opinion, I didn't need them. I refused. In October, the crew arrived to install the windows. Ten were measured incorrectly. Pella informed me that they decided that I did not have to repurchase these new windows. I did not measure these windows - Pella sales people did. i was not going to pay them another dime. I did not want to install windows during the window, so the second installation was performed in April. This time, all windows fit. The interior of the windows were installed very nicely, but again, they refused to cap the outside. However, they shot foam and placed fiberglass insulation in the cracks very haphazardly. This foam and insulation is clearly visible on the exterior of the windows. I contacted Pella's customer service department. The response was that she was ashamed that Pella had installed these windows. She investigated the case and replied to me in a reasonable time frame. Through notes, she determined that Pella's sales team had decided that the capping COULD be installed, but it was very labor intensive and would take time. Therefore, they decided to say that it COULD NOT be done. So rather than charge additional installation fees, which I would have paid, they took the unprofessional way out. As a response to my claim, customer service agreed to send me the capping material and asked me to get an estimate from the contractor of my choice and that "if was less than the $11000 I paid for the windows", I would be reimbursed. The estimate totaled $4500. In addition to capping, other problems with the installation need to be corrected. The windows need wooden frames and it is labor intensive. This is why Pella refused to cap. I sent Pella the estimate to correct the window installations.. After two follow up emails and sixteen days of waiting, Pella replied. They offered to pay $30 per window, which is what they pay installers. My estimate is ridiculous. My response is that not only are the windows being capped without removing the decorative frame, which Pella could have done in the first place, but other work is required to correct issues that have already been done. Through their installers, you get what you pay for. Through their $30 "capping fee", I have the issues I see now. At present, I have contacted the financing company to pull back the window payment, and am proceeding from there.

Within 5 years it started having issues. The Paramus location is the sales office and West Caldwell location is the repair office. Both are 100% incompetent. Spent the last 3 months trying to arrange for a warranty repair since the door is supposed to be warranted for 10 years. After waiting over a month for a callback, I called and demanded to speak to a manager. The manager called back and apologized and said that I'd receive my parts in a week or so. Another month passed and I did not receive anything. I then visited the Paramus office demanding to speak to the owner/manager. Of course, he wasn't there. I called Pella customer service and told them what I've been going through. They had a manager (Tom) call me. He explained that due to a number of errors on their part, the part was just sitting in their warehouse for the last month. He was not apologetic and made zero attempt at making things right. He claims that I'll have it within the next few days but I really doubt it. These guys are crooks and don't care about their customers. Save yourself the headache, avoid them at all costs.

I sat with the sales rep in May 12. I stressed the importance of moving quickly. Understanding it takes two weeks to have the entry way measured and then four weeks to install, I completed the financing the same night. I am very disappointed. I specifically called the sales representative, Shawn, after the meeting to provide me with comfort in making this purchase and, so far, I've experienced nothing but dismay. I am upset that nothing has happened as i expected. I am still waiting on door color samples. I've asked about them twice, not including the night Shawn was at my house. The contract was sent over a week after meeting Shawn at my house and I was told he would overnight them the next day after the appointment. The appointment for measuring was botched. And, even though I expressed that I wanted this done as soon as possible, there have been countless and senseless delays. S I was to have the entry way measured 7:30 am, Monday, June 1 and no one called until 8:15. I shocked that after Tom informed Shawn of this mishap Monday morning, Shawn did not reach out to me until almost 11:00pm Monday evening. Does management know what happened here? Why hasn't management called. This is unacceptable and not at all good business. When will I receive the color samples? I can't imagine that a door is being customized without me choosing a color. I am certain that will push my install date well into July - long after I wanted this job completed. And, I am sure I will still have to pay full price for unprofessional and unsatisfactory services. Dare I say my patronage means nothing to you. Shawn does not return my phone calls until days or weeks later. Overall, good sales presentation, but everything went down from there. As of June 16, I am still waiting on color samples and an install date. I should have paid better deference to the BBB complaints.

They were good. It's very good, but if they have a rich house to get done, they are going to them first. They go for the most house that needs the windows. In otherwords, this person needed $120,000 of windows for their house. So, they took them first before they took me because I only needed 15 windows. So, the problem was that was the problem. Now they are sending me things through the mail that they want me to get the rest of the windows but I got them already. I couldn't wait for them. My house is like since 1948 and I had to get it fixed and I had to get the windows fixed before they rot out. They were old because the people that were here before didn't do anything.

It was fine- I enjoyed the process. They were reliable and did good work. They were very professional. They protected the rest of the house from dust and cleaned up after themselves and they followed through when we needed an extra piece. The price wasn't unreasonable.

It was excellent. The expectations and the timeline for everything was met. The work was done and as we can tell right now, we have had no problems. It was good. I wasn't really there for much of it but it seems like everything -in as far as I can tell they cleaned up very well- I didn't come home to a mess. Pella windows are quality windows.

I bought a big deal for this service and it went well. It was great. They came out, measured, did the installation, set up and cleaned up. Their customer service was great. I had known of them before because I did a remodel when I did my home. Their prices are what they are, but once you say you've got Pella Windows in your home, nobody can dispute. Their price could be a little lower.

They were very professional. Price was extremely high.

They were fine and we had no negatives. They came, replaced the door and went. We looked several places for a door. They were more expensive.

I bought the front door 8 years ago. The front panel started to separate from the core. When I contacted Pella they agreed to replace the whole door even though I found out that the problem arose because I didn't replace the glass in the storm door with the screen when it got very hot in the summer. This had caused a h********* which caused the glue to fail.

This is the worst winter in 20-30 years, and I've noticed that I have no leaks, I have no drafts, and my heat costs have dropped significantly.

The work was done quickly and well - did their own cleanup - and were pleasant and professional.

The workers came and were able to remove and install the two new picture windows in one day. There was follow up from the Pella store to make sure the work was done to our satisfaction.

The provided and installed new windows in our home...I would have to say overall the windows are top notch and their service was good attention to detail pretty good.

I wanted an estimate for French doors and and transom. I am not ignorant about construction and judged that a narrow transom above the doors may be possible given ceiling height and height/configuration of header, which I have actually seen during a prior renovation. The fact that Pella offered a low arched transom appeared ideal. My intent was to get figures for the doors and transom and THEN to discuss the installation and whether or not a low transom was possible with my contractor. Simple enough, just give me the prices and I and my contractor will take it from there, right? But the guy that called from Pella wasted no time in making it clear that I was a silly woman that new nothing about construction or headers or much else and that he would not waste time talking to me and that he would only discuss this with my contractor since I obviously didn't know what I was talking about. I own an old home and have contracted for and overseen many renovations on it, structural and otherwise. My occupation involves and requires knowledge of the construction industry. For this guy to treat me like an ignorant little girl with a pipe dream was insulting at best. I will never consider Pella again. Update: I see that Pella responded a month ago that they would be contacting me ASAP. Let's go on the record that I have heard nothing, so must assume that they posted this response for appearances only. (However, that may be for the best as I have nothing to discuss with Pella.)

The quality of work is another matter.|My main problem was there was no regard to potential lead problem. None of the required safety measures for working on a house built in the late 1800's were taken. Pella said they would do install, but it seems like they send out sub contractors and not real Pella employees. They charged me for lead safe practices and returned that money after I complained, but it did not help the fact that with small kids in the house their (the kids) safety and not the money is the main issue. |They also broke a window pane in a totally different window that was not being replaced. They rigged up an old window they were removing to replace the whole upper window of the one they broke. It was a different color (so I had to paint) and it was drafty after they were done (I had to rechaulk).|There was also broken glass I found later from the removal of the old windows.|Although I might buy the product again, I would never trust them or their contractors to do an install.

Apparently cleaning them is not part of the install. ||For $20K you would think they would do that as a courtesy. Especially since the outside of the windows are not within reach. Not sure I would use them again due to price.

They did a great job, and we were very satisfied. The salesperson delivered on everything he promised, and there were no surprises or hidden costs. He explained how the process would work, who would come to do it, and what to expect - and that is not something you see all the time. We were so pleased that we recommended them to our neighbors, who used them as well. It is not an inexpensive product, but it is very high quality product which is what we were looking for. The price was comparable to other companies that we looked into. They delivered everything within the timeframe they promised, and I have had no problems since.

They did a great job and we were very pleased with the windows. The windows and doors are extremely easy to open and close, and the shades inside the windows give you different lighting based on the time of day. They are not inexpensive, but I feel the quality of the products is worth it. You get what you pay for. The way the windows are, makes them much easier to clean than other windows I've had in the past.

They were good. We were satisfied with their work. The service was good and the product was good. The workmanship was also very good.

They did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it, and they did it very professionally.

They had to remove 8 feet of extremely old sliding doors to put the new one in, and because it was so old, they had to do some rebuilding which made it a difficult job. We initially met the man at a homeshow, and he followed up with us right away and came out to do the measurements. It was nice not to have to deal with a lot of different people. He and his crew made everything very smoothly. They did a wonderful job and everything went well. They were very clean, and there was no mess when they left. They were willing to work with us financially, and created a plan that worked for our budget - which we definitely appreciated!

They did a great job and the windows look beautiful - they really perk up the house. It is like there isn't even any glass in them! The job took a day and a half, and I have to say I actually enjoyed having the crew in my home. They were fun to be around, had nice personalities, and put me at ease. They cleaned up after themselves every day, and they were careful with the items they had to work around. The windows are very high quality and extremely easy to use. The price was reasonable and they made it very painless by working out a free financing plan that fit my budget. The windows have held up very well and still look brand new. They are also very responsive. If you call the company and have to leave a message, someone calls you back right away - there is no chasing them. They were also very professional. I am completely satisfied.
