 + -1 moreHad I known the repair would be so costly I would have opted for a new unit but they never gave me the option. I called the owner to try to discuss what had transpired but got an answering machine. He did call me back once but I was unavailable on that occasion. I called him back four more times and he never took the call or called me back.
Description of Work: They did schedule me quickly and they were on time. However, the service technician who came to the house seemed baffled. He left the house several times to get parts he did not have with him. He was on the phone multiple times with the (owner/senior tech?). He was at my house all day. At one point the (owner/senior tech)came out to the house to see what was taking so long and to help. They shorted the thermostat and then charged me for a new one. They charged me over $1200.00 to repair the unit which is over 15 years old.

 + -1 moreIrons AC and heating sent Barry, ace repairman, who came out immediately (even though we are out of the normal service area), found and fixed the problem, and did not charge for the service (we paid a small fee for a furnace check-up while he was at the house). Very professional and highly competent.
Description of Work: Repair of gas water heater that provider installed six months previously.

 + -1 moreOverall, we are totally pleased with the cost, professionalism and quality of work done. In fact, we have just contracted Irons to do another job for us on our main house (conversion of an old oil burner to new gas furnace).
Description of Work: Due to Hurricane Sandy, our furnace, AC and hot water heater were badly damaged. Because our beach home has no basement, the utilities were all located on the ground floor and were under water for several days. We got some estimates on replacement, but only Irons was willing to put the furnace and AC in the attic for a reasonable price. They also reran all second floor ducting. They came when scheduled, worked quickly, and were done in less time than they quoted. They stuck to the contracted price for the quoted work, even when extra complications arose. They also reconfigured some existing, poorly run water lines for a very reasonable price, which enabled us to obtain some usable storage space where the old furnace used to be.

 + -1 moreI was referred to this company from another company in the field who was busy and couldnt see me. Thats a big plus. We excahnged some calls, then set an appointment. I got a price, we agreed to do the work and it was scheduled. Quick, painelss and easy. I operate a service business and take referrals very seriously. I would refer this company.
Description of Work: I had several other HVAC guys out, all of which just wanted to replace and SELL me a rebate. I just needed what I had converted from propane to Natural Gas. I got a fair price and the work done ASAP.
