The company was very responsive to initial phone calls and their staff were polite. They came within 48 hrs to inspect the leak and damage to my roof after Hurricane Sandy. The company charged $1000 to tarp one of three dormers on a large roof. The rep tried to get my insurance company to replace an entire tile roof (approximately a $45K outlay) despite the fact that the leak and the storm damage were very localized and despite the fact that I absolutely do not need a new roof. While I waited for the settlement (3 days) Big Apple called me numerous times indicating that they were simply "following up." My insurance company provided a settlement that was more appropriate to the relatively small scale of the work that needed to be done to fix the storm damage (<$4000). When I provided Big Apple with the settlement info all calls ceased, and despite my numerous efforts to contact the company, they failed to return my calls. Incredibly disappointing experience and an expensive lesson from a company that I thought would live up to higher expectations.
