No 1 Cleaners

Another fantastic Angie's List find. We hired No. 1 Cleaning to do a complete cleaning and sanitization of our HVAC ducts because we hadn't had one done since 2000, and we just (almost) completed a complete kitchen and bath renovation in our home and felt a full HVAC cleaning was needed. We were extremely glad we did! JEFF and his partner, BRADLEY, arrived at our home yesterday afternoon to do a complete review of our needs, and counted all the vents. They were both extremely professional, and definitely knew what they were doing. In addition to explaining the job and costs again (Marc had originally reviewed and priced the job over the phone when I called to schedule), Jeff explained the various options we had in addition to the basic HVAC cleaning. We decided to add sanitization to the work, and Jeff and Brad went to work. As they neared completion of the job, as they started to work on the basement duct work, they found a significant amount of large, heavy construction debris that had fallen into the ducts. As it turns out, when the kitchen was demo-ed, the construction workers didn't close off the kitchen ducts, leaving them exposed for big chunks of plaster call to fall into the duct work. This posed a significant challenge for Jeff and Bradley, and after they explained our options to address the problem, we opted to have them cut open the basement ducts to remove the large rocks and pieces of plaster. What turned out to be regular cleaning, ended up being an important fix to our HVAC system and the air quality in our home. We are very grateful for Jeff and Bradley's expertise, because if one of the rocks had works it's way into the blower of our system, it could have destroyed the entire system - not to mention the unhealthy air that was being pumped through our home from large pieces of plaster/concrete dust. In addition, Jeff re-taped some of the ducts that were loosened by the construction work. We are EXTREMELY pleased to have been wise enough to hire No. 1 Cleaners to do the work. We plan to have them return soon to clean the carpeting, a sectional sofa, regular sofa, chair, and ottoman in our home that also need to get a thorough cleaning post-construction. They were expected to arrive between 1-3 p.m., but ended up around 3:30. Aside from that, service was great. David was very patient and explained all details of the job. David was also very courteous throughout the process. Very professional job. Would definitely use them again.

I first contacted them because my HVAC contractor (Alpine) suspected mold in two of our air handlers and said we should replace them both ($$$!!!). Mark, the owner, called me back right away. Vincent and his associate were very professional and honest. Vincent took the time to explain what he was doing. He looked at both air handlers and said that while one looked like it could be mold, the other was definitely not. Vincent was not pushy and did not try to sell me any services, and that it was up to me if I wanted the handler cleaned. He also said he thought the air handlers were working just fine! I was unhappy with my HVAC guy, and Vincent suggested I ask Mark for a recommendation. Mark got back to me with two names right away, one being Precision Air, and they were terrific (said I did not need to repair or replace a thing!). Unbelievably, I had a lint fire in my dryer the following week, so I called Mark again. He was very responsive again, and had another very professional technician (forgot his name) out to my house the next day. They took care of the dryer vent for $89. Since bad luck comes in threes, we got some water in my basement, and I thought I had gotten the carpet dry but then noticed a mildew odor. Mark bent over backwards to get Vincent back out to my house the next day. He was able to check the walls for moisture, peel back the carpeting, remove the soaked padding, and will come back to clean the carpet once the dryers have done their work. I can't say enough about this company. Not sure why i needed them three times in one month, but I would use them again in a heartbeat. Mark really goes out of his way to try to work with your schedule and solve your issue right away, and their service providers are extremely knowledgeable and professional. I have never taken the time to write a review before, but thought it was due in this case.

Called office, and responded immediately. David came out same day. He explained; showed me what he was doing. He was pleasant, respectful, knowledgeable, professional. House ducts never cleaned in 60 years Unbelievable. Dirt, pet hair. Very thorough job. Absolutely will use them again and will recommend them to friends and family.

It was the first time I had used this company, and I will likely use them from here on out. They were very professional, and most importantly, very thorough! In their efforts to actually do the job correctly, they found that the dryer was venting into the crawl space! The hose that goes outside wasn't broken or loose, it was non-existent! Now, only finding this out in 2014 says two things. First, No. 1 Cleaners knows how to do the job properly, meaning cleaning the vent from BOTH ends, not just from inside the condo. It also says that the prior services I used (Chaste Air, Ultraclean, and Healthy Air Solutions) apparently can't be bothered to be thorough with what could be a potential fire hazard. I could not believe that all these years, none of these companies ever bothered to check for the outgoing vent. Well, No. 1 Cleaners did! Highly recommended!

They really did a good job on the duct work. They cost a little bit more than other places. We had our old house cleaned before and they're a little bit more expensive. I think it cost $200 when they cleaned our whole place. They gave us a good price because two houses were done in the same area at the same day. I was very happy because the house was very clean. They apologized for certain stains that was not removed. They said they really can't do, its a very old stain. We saw the difference after they cleaned the place. I told them I need them back in two years because there are certain other things I wanted them to clean.
