The deal worked out fine overall. They were nice people to work with. There was a little damage to the cement around the opening of the chimney. Scheduling was not too difficult, but not as smooth as it could have been. I just had them do the cleaning and inspection. I found the technicians to be nice people to deal with.

Overall just ok. I will probably try a different provider next time I get my chimney cleaned. I was contacted through Angie's list message system the day after I purchased the service. At that time I filled out a form providing information including when I was available for an appointment. The first available saturday appointment was more than 2 wks away, so I selected that date and the next 3 weekend date options. At that time I provided my cell phone number and my comcast e-mail address requesting that they use either of those 2 options for contacting me. This request was ignored and I was only contacted using the Angie's list messaging system. This was annoying and resulted in delayed communications. As a consequence I did not see a followup e-mail asking for service date confirmation after I thought we had already set a date. On the day of my appointment I called to query approximately when they would come and was told my appointment was canceled because I did not respond to their followup e-mail, but they were able to come out late in the day to do the cleaning. I asked about cleaning out the trap in the basement but was told that was not part of cleaning the chimney and would result in an additional fee. A different response than what another customer experienced. I will say the job was finished in 15 minutes and was done very neatly without any ash dirt in the room with the fireplace. Not a stellar experience just acceptable with the feeling that I'm not sure a through job was done. A feeling is not sufficient basis to provide an unsatisfied rating but I will probably use another company next time.

Did a good job cleaning the chimney, provided preventive items for the chimney with a price estimate. I was surprised that the ash pit wasn't covered in the cleaning price, but this was my first time getting the chimney cleaned - next time I'll ask first. Overall, I was happy with the work done.

Technicians communicated with me in advance when they would be performing the work and when they would arrive. Took care in keeping my home clean and cleaning up after themselves. Excellent work!

They cleaned my chimney. They were late and tried to upsell me with a lot of extra services and products. They were responsive and quickly arranged the cleaning.

The appointment was scheduled for an 11 am - 2 pm time slot. I recieved a call saying that they could come earlier if that worked for me (aprrox. 10 :30 am) which it did. I had puchased an Angie's deal for chimney cleaning which is how Flue tech came to my house. While there I told the main young man (whose name escapes me) that the chimney smokes when burning wood and asked what could be done to prevent that . He checked the damper to make sure that it was fully open. He told me that the damper need to be replaced, which did not surprise me; he also said that my chimney shaft was on the small side so that was part of the reason why it was smoking. He suggested that I use the fireplace only during the days when it is really cold outside as that would help with the updraft and to also make sure the wood was clean and dry. He recommend birch wood for burning and to stay away from pine. We are using wood from fallen trees that occurred during Sandy which is not birch, but We have followed his suggestiongs and have been using the file place more without problem. Flue Tech was very professional and very clean. They left no evidence of ever being in my home.

They came and did the chimney service. After they left, the wire cap at the top of the chimney blew off. I called them and they came back about 4 days later. They installed a new cap on the chimney. I am completely satisfied with their quick response and service.

Bought the $125 chimney sweep deal they had here a little while ago. Made a schedule and 2 guys came in on time and set up shop. Cleaned and inspected from inside and outside. The guys were very honest and definitely went above and beyond. They said that my chimney was pretty clean and didn't need a sweep yet and even fixed the fireplace gate/door for me. Will definitely use these guys again!

I was satisfied with what the technician told me. However, I paid $289 for the flue inspection by video, and a CD ROM of the video inspection was supposed to be sent to me shortly after. However, I have NOT RECEIVED IT until today. It has been almost 2 months. I called them for a CD ROM twice in November. They assured me it would come shortly. It has never come. What did I pay $289 for??? Is this the company Angie's List gave a high mark to? Now I feel if I can trust Angie's list. The technicians that came were on time and very polite. They were very professional and went above and beyond what they were hired for. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends. It is such a pleasure to find a business that I feel is honest and reliable!

Very well. I ordered the service through Angie's List and was contacted quickly to setup a date. The guys were on time, did a great job and took the time to explain to me some specifics about my chimney since I recently purchased the home.

The window to complete the service was 11-2 today. After not hearing from anyone by 2:00, we called Matt and he returned the call at 2:30. He stated that they were running late and would not be at my house until an hour or hour and a half. There was no communication until I called after waiting all day. We will not reschedule with this company as they have no consideration for clients time.

Chimney was cleaned. We recently had some guests over for Thanksgiving and one of them remarked that the fireplace is good because it doesn't make the clothes or house smell like smoke or soot. In other houses she said that her clothes always had that smoky smell after leaving. But not here. So I think the job was well done and thorough.

They were late and called after their window to tell me they were late. They spent the shortest time cleaning my chimney than any prior company. They did not inspect the chimney, did not go on the roof, did not make any comments to me about the chimney itself even though I asked them to check for cracks. I used Blackbeard Chimney last year and was very pleased. I went with the cheap sale company which was a mistake. Blackbeard it is going forward

They did a great job. They came in, cleaned the chimney and left. I cannot complain. It was a great service. I did not spend anything more than the worth of the coupon. They were efficient and they cleaned after themselves.

They worked for us twice, once cleaning out the inside of the chimney, and the other repointing the stone work on the outside. They took care of some things we weren't aware of. Overall we were quite hapy with them. They seemed to know what they were doing and do it honestly.

We had purchased a new house 3 years ago and during inspection it was discovered that the fireplace was non-operational and needed repairs which the chimney inspector estimated at several thousand dollars. So we had put off getting it repaired right away. But this year with winter approaching we decided we needed to get the fireplace fixed. We found 4 companies with good reviews on Angie's List and had them give us estimates. We liked them all but Flue Tech impressed us the most. So we made an appointment with them to finally get the fireplace fixed. We emailed them a couple of days prior to confirm the time. We got a confirmation right away at 10PM at night. They said they would be at the house between 9AM-12PM. If I had one complaint against this company it would be their lack of punctuality and failure to communicate arrival time. They arrived around 1.30PM and got to work right away. They were done in an impressive 3 hours. They cleaned up after themselves, were extremely polite, professional and courteous. We highly recommend this company and would use them again if we needed to.
