FlueTech was very prompt in scheduling service, and over all my interactions with them were fine. We just seemed unable to connect to get the job done.

I used Flue Tech and I would give them a stellar rating. The last time that I used them was probably about eight months ago but I do not recall right offhand what the cost of the service was.

Two gentlemen arrived on time, got to work, and completed the task in a few hours. No mess, and no issues with their workmanship. I would use them again.

The gentleman was extremely professional and extremely neat!! I would refer him highly. No pressure just suggestions with photos to back it up. He even suggest an order to them in so that we would not have to lay out alot of money all at once.

The good: Fluetech has been really responsive when I've had issues with my chimneys since they completed their work. For example, a heavy rainstorm led to some leaking in my chimney. They came out a few days later and cleaned out my whole fireplace and re-sealed the chimney and put on a bigger cap. In addition, they are providing me with a complimentary smoke guard due to the smoke issues I've had with my fireplace. The not so good: When the worker completed the initial job he said "you're going to have a smoke filled house when you have fires in the fireplace because your chimney is so short." Gee--thank you for advising me of that AFTER I invested so much money in my chimney/fireplace. I felt duped. And mad at myself for spending so much money on the darned chimneys. And in fact, fires in the fireplace do often cause lots of smoke. To their credit, fluetech did give me some pointers to reduce the smokiness, which usually help. In addition, as noted above, they have agreed to provide a complimentary smoke guard to help alleviate the problem. Overall, I am happy with Fluetech's responsiveness and professionalism. If I had to do it all over, though, I might just seal up my chimney and not invest so much money in it.

They showed up on time. Did a thorough inspection and cleaning.

The Flue Tech workers arrived on time and cleaned the chimney quickly. I bought the house two years ago and suspected some maintenance would probably be required. Flue Tech discovered a few issues to be addressed, discussed them with me and provided a quote for the work should I choose to do it in the future. There was no pressure from the foreman to perform the work immediately.

Excellent company to deal with! They are very accessible, courteous and prompt. Jay was the estimator and assessed the job. He was prompt and explained everything to us and answered all our questions. Conor and Steve were the technicans who did the work. They were excellent, neat workers who took the time to do the job right. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

After a decade of repairing our chimney, which would start crumbling mortar into our neighbor's driveway, and then having the whole thing start again within two years, we called Flue-Tech. They explained to us that the spot patching and painting others had done would never solve the problem, and gave us several options for a more lasting solution. We chose the least expensive option, which included a final painting of the chimney exterior--work they do not usually do, but were willing to undertake at our request. Everyone we interacted with at the company was thoroughly professional and courteous, from the first visit through the follow-up to paint the chimney two weeks after it was encased. They called to confirm appointments, called on the day of each appointment to let us know when they would be arriving, and took great pains with our and our neighbor's property. We are very happy with the work and especially happy with the 20-year guarantee they provide to cover it.

We had been ripped off by prior chimney companies and contractors with this chimney. We joined Angie's list and called several companies for estimates. We chose Flue Tech for several reasons. First and most important was they gave us two options with explanations as to why and how. There reviews were to our satisfaction. They priced the job accordingly. There punctuality and communication was so relieving. The owners, office staff and mechanics all did there job and worked us through it. Overall we are very pleased we hired them. We will update in the winter if any problems occur (hope not), but we trust all is well. P.S. They also take pictures for you as you request. I've had nothing but good experiences with them. They've been awesome. They're competent and really nice to deal with. Everything is great!

They were a pleasure to work with. Arrived on time, installed a new chimney cap and showed me pictures of possible future repairs that I might consider--no pressure, just information.

The cleaing was done from the cellar with a brush on a flexible rod. Pictures were taken from the top showing the unlined brick and mortar flue. They recommended that we add a liner and have the exterior of the chimney stuccoed rather than repointed.

The work was accomplished in one day, with minimal mess. The Paine smelled for about an hour, but because it was done during good weather I could open the windows and the house aired out quickly. The fireplace looks good, but is also safer because the cracks in the mortar have been filled. And the smoke smell is entirely gone. To be fair, that smell probably dissipated most because I paid for a steel rotary cleaning of the flue to remove creosote first. That work was done by a provider who bid less on that part of the job. I learned a great deal about chimneys from this provider, very professional!

They took one day to spray the cement in the chimney for its entire length, and the cost was less than half of the other methods. The cement has only a 20 warrantee, as opposed to lifetime guarantee offered by steel, but far fewer downsides. And because we reclined before major damage to the flue had appeared, we are told we have a good seal. Heat is of course off now, for summer, we are so far pleased.

Flue Tech provided excellent service and I would definitely recommend them to others! The technician was knowledgable and took the time to explain the condition of our chimney and address all of our questions. We are planning to use this company again in the future when we convert to gas and have a chimney lining installed.

I was a little concerned about all of the added costs especially since we could not really see for ourselves the condition of the flues. However, the price we paid was much cheaper than getting a new liner for the chimney, which several of the other companies were recommending. Nick and Sean were very professional in getting the work completed and it was all done in two hours. It has been three months later after the gas conversion, and we are very satisfied with the results.

I originally scheduled my appointment for Wednesday, May 21st, but received a call earlier that week asking me to reschedule. I obliged, as it was not a big deal for us at the time, but could be a problem for those more short on time. Mike was prompt, polite and knowledgeable, and gave us good information about the chimney. I later had a mason come look at the chimney, and he pointed out a loose brick inside the fireplace that Mike did not mention. Not a huge deal, but I think it was a miss on his part. Otherwise, all good.

He canceled on us two times and did not show up for the third appointment. At that point we decided to not enter into a business agreement with him.

The fireplace had been giving us trouble...taking longer and longer to catch fire and then when it did, causing a bit of an explosion each time. When the guys arrived, and heard my description, they said they thought perhaps the igniter had failed and would need to be replaced. They also said it would probably be cheaper to just buy a whole new unit, logs included. This was not what I wanted to hear. But 30 minutes later they called me in and said they were able to clean the igniter and they also noted that the sand and other elements of the fire system were awry and that was also adding to the delay in catching fire. They fixed all that, as well as cleaned the logs themselves and left everything looking like it did when it was first installed. Very nice, very professional, very honest. What more could you want?

They came promptly, were extremely clean, professional and nice! Mike is worth his weight in gold! we had purchased a gas fireplace from someone online and had never tested it. When we turned it on, the pilot light would fire, but nothing else. He was kind enough to sit on the phone with the manufacturer to troubleshoot. When the manufacturer suggested that we might need a part. It could have been pretty costly if we had to order and install the part, even then with no guarantee that it was the real prob. (The provider doesn't sell this unit.) He wouldn't give up. He played and played until it worked! Can't thank him enough!
