The two people from Flue Tech came on time, completed all work in less than an hour and were professional and polite. After cleaning out the fireplace portion of the chimney they checked out the gas heater portion and told me that it would not be worth paying extra to clean it out as since it is totally clean due to a steel chimney pipe that I had put in a few years ago. They also gave useful advice regarding how frequently to have the chimney and dryer vent cleaned in the future.

Mike was super in explaining to me what had to be done, how dirty the flue was and the dangers of having your flue so dirty. I don't trust chimney companies, but I have to say that Mike really impressed me. He suggested other options to me to help decrease the creosode in the chimney. But, I am having them come back to do a more thorough cleaning. So far, with all of the things he explained to me, he is the first chimney guy I trust and like. I will definitely use them again.

These guys called before they came over so I was able to run errands and not have to wait at home all day. The two guys were very personable and did everything I asked. I had shopped around and their pricing was on par with other companies. Only thing that I didn't like was of additional repairs they were suggesting. They showed me pictures of some damage and told me it is in need of repair. They wouldn't commit to whether the repairs needed to be done immediately or if they could be put off till next year. I just like to get an idea if I am getting hit with a legit issue or a sales pitch. Overall though I would use them again

I am a Registered Architect in NY but had trouble finding a contractor to do the job in a 4 story townhouse in Manhattan at a reasonable price. I joined Angie's list specifically for help in finding contractors for this job which happens to be my home. I took bids from 3 contractors including Flue Tech. I awarded them the job based upon: Their professionalism in visiting the jobsite and analyzing the project needs Their promptness and follow up The professionalism of their proposal Their bid As an architect and real estate developer I do construction every day. These guys were excellent in every way. They set appointments and kept to their schedule The job started as promised and was competed ahead of schedule They worked in a clean manner I had 1 minor problem and they came back immediately. I rate them 100%. Couldn't have wished for more.

Seamless service. Had a little back and forth with emails to get a date on the calendar but very nice phone dispatcher and service providers were punctual, clean and professional.

On 9/28, following sale of my home, I requested chimney cleaning and paid $139 with American Express card. At home inspection, a list of needed chimney repairs was uncovered and I asked Flue Tech to give me an estimate of repairs in lieu of chimney cleaning. When I sent the second request, I provided Flue Tech with the written findings with photos from home inspection. A few days later, I requested a date for repair so that vendor would realize I was serious about having the work done. As I have sold my house and inspection revealed the problem, there was a time limit for performing the repair or providing a credit to buyer at closing. When I did not receive a response within 48 hours, I had to inform my attorney to go with credit at closing. Vendor responded the following day that he needed to locate estimate before scheduling the work at which time I informed him that it was too late and requested refund of the $139.

The entire Flue Tech team was a pleasure to work with. I called for an estimate which was promptly booked, and I was constantly updated on the status of all the appointments that followed. Their communication was above and beyond anything I've ever experienced with this type of contracted service. They provided a better quote and did not think we needed extra work recommended by another company. They were very accommodating with the schedule, allowing us to stay on track with other contract work. Even though they estimated one day to do the work, and needed a second, they conveniently finished the interior work first so they could return the next day without needing access inside the house. The work was neatly done for the most part, just a few bits of cement to wipe off the floor and door handle where they were passing in and out of the house. Overall, a very good experience.

My chimney was not used by previous owners and was covered in soot and debris. They also checked the flue on the roof. They suggested work to be done. I asked the effectiveness of the proposed work and technician showed me picture of what repairs were suggested. I liked that approach. I highly recommend hiring them

I would like to start off saying that the company was a pleasure to deal with. There were some issues with scheduling, but they always called to keep me updated of the status. They came out on 10/10 and replaced the flue. Later that weekend the boiler stopped working. I ended up calling the company back on 10/13 and was transferred to Matt?s voicemail. Since I was unable to reach him, I left a voicemail. Matt returns my call promptly and leaves a voicemail, ?yeah I am returning YOUR call, the tech said that the boiler was not working when they came there.? Basically telling me that they did not cause the issue and I should have someone else come out to look at it. The tenant that was occupying the house informed me that the boiler was in fact working before they came there and was not working after they left. I then called Petro since I had a service plan with them, Petro came out and I told them what happened and they told me that the company that did the work needs to come out and fix it. Petro further explained that the metal the company used to replace the boiler flue was getting caught in my exhaust fan causing my motor in the exhaust fan to overheat which resulted in the boiler not operating. I called Flue Tech again and left a message explaining to them what Petro was saying, Petro was also with me when I left the message. The very next morning a lady called me (I forgot her name) to tell me that a tech would be out to look at it. I would like to stress, this woman was very nice, understanding and patient. The same tech came out and when he left the boiler was working. The very next morning the boiler stopped working. I sent an email to Flue Tech to let them know. Matt?s response was basically, I am sorry to hear that I hope you can get it fixed. I again called Petro to come out to repair it. I received a call from Jenn who apologized for the issues that I was having, which I didn't expect but I appreciated it. Jenn went above and beyond to help me with my issues to ensure that I was satisfied with the work.

This was a deal purchased through Amazon. They came and cleaned our chimney and gave us an estimate for waterproofing the bricks from the outside, as we were having a moisture problem in the chimney. They were very professional and told us only one chimney (we have two) needed cleaning; the other could wait till next year. We anticipate having the waterproofing work done within the month.

I was very pleased with the responsiveness of Flu-Tech! This being a busy season for sure, they were able to schedule my service that was accommodating to my schedule as well as theirs. Mary Clair was polite and eager to help. She called several days before the scheduled appointment to confirm, and to also give me a time to expect the technicians. She also called the morning of to give me an update as to when I could expect them. She was very conscientious at all times. When the techs arrived, they were clean, and in company uniforms, Nick introduced himself and asked me if I had any specific concerns I wanted addressed. I had just moved into this home a few weeks earlier, and I wanted to know the true condition of the fireplaces and chimneys. While I was going over my "list" with Nick, his assistant began laying down cloth coverings, (in order to protect my floors and furniture, no doubt) and brought in the cleaning equipment. Even the equipment was clean! It took all of 30 - 45 minutes for them to do what needed to be done, after which Nick was able to reassure me that all was in good shape. He also, gave me some tips on how to properly start up my wood stove, and what I can expect during use. (I was familiar with wood stoves, however, I never owned one.) I was very pleased with Flu-Tech, and I will certainly add them to my list of "trusted" home service vendors.

They identified a number of items that needed to be repaired (not surprisingly) documented with photographs. The professionalism was exemplary and when they were done with the job, the clean up was so perfect it was as if no one was there. I was given an estimate for other work and will absolutely have them come and do it. Truly delighted to have found them.

Great and very knowledgeable tech. Explained details on maintenance and how to protect my chimney. No pressure on extras. On time and even though had a long window for arrival, they called me 1 hour before arriving giving me time to leave work in time. Will use their services again!

I got a call letting me know the techs would be earlier then estimated. When Mike and Doug showed up they were very courteous and professional. They answer all my questions and concerns. Just over all pleasant and friendly gentlemen. I used this computer the first time and would definitely reach out to them in the future as well. These two techs were great. Thank you for the service. I will recommend these techs and company to my friends and family.

Flue tech did a great job. In the process of cleaning the vent they found some weak connections in the piping and repaired for me. They showed up on time and left the work area very clean.

This was a big deal. It turned out wonderfully; they are excellent. I used them the next day after the big deal purchase. They were wonderful. I had a heating guy here and we had a problem with our chimney. I noticed a Flue Tech van was across the street and I had just purchased the package through Angie's List the day before without knowing I was going to have this problem. I went across the street and asked the guys. They said it would be no problem and that they would come over in just a little bit. So they were very quick to respond.

This was a big deal purchase. There probably were extra charges, but I don't remember what they are. They did some of the work when we weren't home and they were not able to provide any documentation that they did provide it. They did come back the following day to complete the work. This was the first time I used them. They were great.

Friendly and responsive office personel, technician were neat, professional, and on time. They quoted a $1200 panel replacement as a couple of panels are cracked. The quote looks a little high at first sight based on what appears to be involved so I'll need to investigate.

The work went very well. I had years of accumulated lint in the vent, which was a long run from the laundry room. There was a large pile of dust that was removed. I had the job done because I was replacing my dryer, and I thought it was a good time to do it. The only gripe I had was that the workers did not come within the window of time that was promised. I had to call several times before they finally came, which was over two hours late.

Great! The first team I had was fabulous and the second time around-Dylan and Pat were awesome. Clean, polite, knowledgable and got the work done! Would use them over and over again.

The guy verbally quoted $8000 when he was at our home and we asked him to get back to us with a written estimate. They never got back to us with the written estimate and when we called them a lady gave us another verbal estimate over the phone of $12,000 so we decided to not work with them.
