The company insisted on installing windows at 6:30 am on a day of record cold (9 degrees F) after a major snow-storm (8-9 inches of snow). When I called a few days before to review the weather forecast and ask for a postponement the woman who answered the phone snapped "read your contract, we charge $75.00 a day to store windows and the next available appointment is in May". As Jay (the installer) walked in the door he demanded the cashier's check, this before a single drop-cloth was placed or work started. Customer service appears not to be a priority, only profit. The 3 men who installed the windows worked quickly and efficiently, I have no complaints with them. AFTER the installation was complete I was asked to review the installers. At the bottom of the piece of paper it states " ALL SALES AND INSTALLATION CONSIDERED FINAL BY WINDOW WHOLESALERS" AND "Prior to installation, all furniture, drapery, personal items, etc. must be removed from working area. Window Wholesalers will not be held responsible for damaged items which must be removed by installer prior to installation. This should have been reviewed BEFORE the installers arrived (duh!). I give you one guess if I will use them again.

When I first called the company I was surprised about the way the person on the phone told me that I wouldn't go anywhere else do emphatically. It came across as a little rough, but after meeting Mitchel I was very comfortable about his product and his knowlege - I really like the guy and think he might be one of the best sales/contractors I met. I guess the woman on the phone was right because we signed a contract the same night since we had already shopped Mathus (who had good recommendations but seemed very rude and unaccommodating), we also checked out and liked Castle but Windows Wholesalers gave us a great price on what looks to be a great window from Okna. After signing the contract we expected to hear back from Mitchel about seeing a sample of the color of an external flashing piece but we didn't see it (it was right before Christmas). Also, he agreed that the factory would custom paint the exterior and internal grid of the window to match our exact paint - then after weeks we got a call saying that couldn't do it. I was pretty upset but since the Almond color they could paint is so close to our trim color we decided to just go with their standard color. We thought about cancelling our order all together but they convinced us to consider all options and upon doing so we looked around to see possibilities for painting the grid. As I mentioned we did like Mitchel a lot and decided that the color he offered instead of original was close enough and we decided to move ahead with some pretty cool looking windows (possibly the nicest we saw). The windows have not yet arrived, we're still waiting for an installation date, but we anticipate the rest going smoothly and I look forward to finishing the review with stellar points for Mitch and his team. I would recommend Windows Wholesalers to anyone looking for replacement windows - great prices and a super knowledgeable owner who is a great guy. Oh and did I mention amazing prices for great windows?!!

The Good: The installers (Jay and team) were very professional, very fast, thorough, polite and clean. When they left everything looked great. I would use the installers again. They finished 20+ windows in 9 hours flat. Amazing. These guys prevented me from giving the company a much lower grade. The Bad: The company wanted to install the windows (originally) the day before Thanksgiving, and when I wanted a different date AND asked for something else, Jill (who works in the office) yelled at me like I'd greatly offended her. I asked to deal with another person and to talk to Mitch, the owner. He never called back. Also, when the owner sold me the deal, he said cold months would be no problem because they pop out a window and put in the new one right away. In reality, they have to take out every window and then install them all - so my house dropped to 30 degrees inside for a few hours until the windows were all installed 9 hours later. Would have been nice if they told me that up front, but of course that would have been bad for their business.

Appointment was cancelled due to 1) The lack of professionalism of the woman who answered the phone. She did not answer the phone as if they were running a business. 2) I scheduled an appointment, provided all of my information. I proceeded to tell her what I was trying to do. She proceeded to tell me, in a very condescending manner, that what I was trying to do was wrong and that it should not be done that way, and that they would not do it my way. Therefore, I told her I would not be needing their services, and would go elsewhere. Her response was "go ahead and pay more somewhere else!" Why should my hard earned money pay for unprofessional and rude behavior!

I never had to use a contractor before them and I was pressured into using them stating if he(Mitch) left after the estimate was giving I wouldn't get the same deal. I gave him the down payment and several weeks later when they started the job here's how it all played out: , not on time, very disrespectful by the way they treated me, putting their trash from the job in my trash tote filling it up, making a lot of mistakes and had to keep having them come back and fix it. SPITTING on my walkway constantly. they damaged my marble sill in the bathroom window and denied it, they left debris in my son's room and when I told them about it they said to have my wife clean it up, they also left a lot of screws in my driveway. These people are a family run business and they don't like it when you tell them something that one of their relatives did, they go off on you disrespectfully. Also, when I first called them and asked if they were registered with the Better Business Bureau, they told me yes. I found out after I started having problems with them they weren't and had complaints filed against them. I also filed a complaint against them with the BBB back then. These people should not be in business they are a horrible company!

Contracted with them to replace original windows in a home. From the first introduction I noticed ?high pressure? sales tactics, they say if you buy now you will save $$ but if you wait it will cost more?but couldn't give me that price. I was told they order in bulk direct from the manufacturer, not sure why you would order ?custom? items (as the windows are described in the contract) in bulk? Extremely hostile ?front office? when there is a misunderstanding or confusion, in our case after a contract was signed. This was one of the nastiest people I?ve dealt with in any manner. Without getting into detail, my wife was accused of being a liar, told she was trying to not pay her bill and told good luck with legal fees when she expressed desire to cancel the project and then she was hung up on. My phone call prompted a similar experience. All when trying to deal with a simple misunderstanding. The amount of un-professionalism and lack of customer service is still astounding to us. Read their contract (as you should always do) and make amendments as you see fit to protect yourself. As it stands it?s structured to protect them and not you. Take notice to the finale payment due on delivery?this should be changed to on completion. Observe that final payment can only be made via cash or certified check despite initial payment can be made via credit card, this is what caused our tremendous amount of grief. Also take note the storage fee of $85/day if delivery is refused. Ask why delivery would be refused, I?d be interested to hear the spin put on that. After our experience we wanted to refuse. After completion, the windows seem decent, were priced decently and the install went smoothly after being rescheduled by them. The gentlemen installing the windows were professional and quick. I would NEVER contact this company in the event warranty service is needed, I?d prefer to go directly to the manufacturer or pay someone else. I will never do business with them again no matter the price. I?d prefer to pay more to go with a company (big box or a local contractor) that you know you can trust and will be treated with respect as a customer should be and won?t make you feel as if you made a mistake in choosing them. The only reason our job proceeded was because they already had some of our money and we greatly feared being rescheduled as we were threatened with already or possibly worse and never getting done at all and losing our money. Read other reviews and you will see similar experiences, all negative reviews are centered on customer service. I have already deterred one friend away (15 windows and a bay window) from this company and will continue to warn friends, family and anyone that will listen. http://www.bbb.org/san-diego/industry-tips/read/tip/high-pressure-sales-tactics-2873 http://www.yelp.com/biz/window-wholesalers-inc-northfield

It started out well but then started getting unprofessional and started putting down and bad talking some of the other companies. So, that was a little awkward. They were running a really good special and it one of those, if you decide now we can lock in this price. Being new home owners and dealing with contractors before, we were impressed with the price for the most part. Things seemed very good. Slightly my fault, I misremembered some of the ratings that Angie's List had for him so I thought he was rated higher than he was in my memory. Then, for whatever reason, my gut wasn't sitting right after we signed all of the paperwork and we reviewed all of the stuff. The next day, I went back and I reviewed him and I realized that my memory was mistaken me, so I went through the process based off of the contract that we had to cancel the order. We were still in our 3 day window. It had very little information on the contract about cancelling other than contact them in 3 days. Their company was very rude. It was very hard to get somebody to talk to. It was very hard to updates. Because I couldn't rely on, I sent something certified mail to them and it never got picked up from the post office. I was questioning did they get it? Did they cancel my order? This is a large amount of money on my credit card. So, I contacted my credit card just to leave a report with them also saying hey, I think that this is being processed but what I do if it doesn't come off. They must have received something from the credit card company because they call me yelling at me that it was illegal to, it was credit card fraud to file a claim against the merchant when we were already processing it, something very absurd. I was very taken back. Thankfully, everything went right and they refunded the money and all that kinds of stuff. There was a lot of stress. They were very unprofessional, they were very rude. After we reviewed the reviews and the majority of them were on the worse side. Then, just to get the thing cancelled I could totally understand what the people were complaining about. Who knows, maybe after they did the install it would have been fine but I shouldn't have had to go through the hassle that I went through and then expect installation would be okay. What if during installation they hit an issue or during installation there was a delay what we would have to deal with that then. The process was a lesson learned for me.

The product is very good. Installation went well but some details needed to be mentioned. The crew was very nice and did everything that I asked. The windows look great and seem to be holding up well. Full payment is required before they begin installation. Their policy, not usual. The product was what they advertised and the installation was executed as promised. the cost of the windows was competitive. I'll be using them again.

We called to cancel an appt for Tuesday (we were considering a different time and date) and a male took the call and thanked me for the business. Perfect, and professional. (The appt. was cancelled, since I am being treated for an aggressive brain tumor at UPENN and we have an AM appt that may not end by 11am, since all appts run very long). Half hour later, (I have the phone records) my wife got a call from a female, who, stated clearly on speakerphone, “You and your husband must not be too bright to cancel, and, don’t call again”. My wife stated that since there are windows that are cheap at Lowes, then stopped talking, since she was being spoken to and looked… shocked. I then heard my wife say, as though ignoring the rude statement, ‘if what you have is better in quality, we can make that appt work”. This point, the female repeated her rude statement, about if we are stupid enough for Lowes, we are too stupid for her time, and hung up. So, I asked my wife to call, because I could not understand what just happened- to find out who just called us. It happened again- hung up on, then called back, (really!) insulted and refused service and then to be told, “Mitchell does what we say, and we say this call didn’t happen, thank you for not calling again”. This was stated after “Our girls spoke to you and we have high tracking technology ….you keep calling, you must be stupid/ have mental problems to want windows from Lowes, since their windows are hollow, and No ….we don’t want your business, we have the right to refuse, and we are refusing you, goodbye, do not call us again” Hanging up on us? Calling back to tell us we must not be bright? Refusing to reschedule us?

The sales pitch by Mitch & price were hard to pass up, also they had been recommended by word of mouth from a co-worker of mine. They arrived on the scheduled day on time, however I wasn't pleased about the demand for payment "up front" or they would leave! Then I find that 2 of the 17 windows were mismeasured (by Mitch himself) & this meant a 2 week wait plus another day off work to install those. The contractors were messy & unprofessional: turned on my radio w/o my permission, left cigarette butts all over outside the house, made a mess of my floors & there was debris all over my kids' beds, caulk & caulk tubes left around the house. To top things off they put large scratches in my hardwood livingroom floor & then stated it was my fault becase my house is old & my couch is heavy! I am now dealing w/ the contractor's insurance company- Mitch was very quick to give me this information! I am hoping to get some resolution about my floor. The windows haven't leaked yet,but I'll be watching closely after reading the other reviews!

Salesman was typical with his pitch short and to the point. The very low price went up as the add ons were mentioned but still less then $300 per window installed. Installer called to change appointment as he had another scheduled for that day but when advised that a Friday was the only free time, he suggested they start at 630 a.m. They arrived at 626 and the work was completed very quickly. Windows are nice and I am happy so the positives out weigh the negatives by far.

Looked everywhere for an affordable price and a company with a good reputation. I own several rental units and one in particular needed windows replaced badly. After exhausting all of my efforts, a fellow landlord referred to Mitch at Window Wholsalers. I found Mitch to be very knowledgeable, affable and a very pleasant man to work with. I explained I needed several windows replaced but I'm working with a somewhat limited budget. We agreed on a price and expected start and completion date. He and crew not only completed said work in a day, but saved me money in the process. Here we are a month later and I couldn't be happier. 20

1. Several windows were installed broken. 2. Caulking was missing all over. 3. Called up to complain and they ignored my calls. 4. They have NO BUSINESS address. They can only be dealt with by phone. 5. Almost all of my windows had slow interior leaks. 6. Incurred major interior damages from the slow leakage such as mold damage. 7. Company salesperson is the owners wife. She is a absolute disgrace. 8. Mitch took over the business from his dad. The installers did nothing but complain about the owners. 9. I have hired many contractors and really had no issues. This company was a disaster. 10. I had to pay another contractor to come out and re install all of the windows correctly. RUDE - IGNORANT - NO PROFESSIONALISM - CAN GET A HOLD OF THEM UNLESS THEY HAVE A CHECK TO PICK UP If you need windows and are shopping for the cheapest prices. You are better off putting up a piece of plywood rather than hiring this shoddy outfit. Absolute disgust. I will take them to court and will not stop until I get justice!! I want to be paid back for the tens of thousands of dollars I spent fixing all the damage!! I will incur legal costs with no limit until I get fairly compensated.

I had contracted with them in 2009 for replacement windows. The sub contractor that was used did a very poor job installing the windows, resulting in water leaking in, drafts and damage to my home. The sub contractor has a clause in his contract that makes WINDOW WHOLESALERS responsible for the damages to my home. The sub contractor also did not follow the guide lines of the contract. He did not replace the wooden framing around my windows, he just threw out the old wood. I have had both of the insurance companies for the sub contractor and WINDOW WHOLESALERS come out and examine the damages. WINDOW WHOLESALERS does not stand by their product and the insurance will not replace the windows just repair the damages to my home from the windows. I have to find another company to replace the windows and try to repair the poor work that was done over 2 years ago.

I had a very positive experience with Window Wholesalers. I made an initial appointment the first week of November and needed the windows installed quickly. Window Wholesalers were able to install my windows within 3 weeks of placing my deposit. The windows were installed on the date originally scheduled. All the workers were very professional. They started to work at 6am and had replaced and capped all the windows by 2pm that afternoon. I did have to pay the installer prior to the work being performed, but I had no issue with that. The first thing the team did was confirm that the window sizes matched what was ordered. These guys work quickly, they didn't even take lunch. Within the first 90 minutes all the old windows had been completely removed. There were 4 installers and each had a specific task. One brought the windows in and removed all the debris. Two people installed the windows and the 4th person did all the capping. This was an extremely organized operation and I was amazed at how smoothly the operation ran. The measurements for 17 of the 18 windows were exact and fit like a glove. They just pulled the old windows out and the new windows fit back into the original area perfectly. There was one window that didn't fit but the team caught that issue before the original windows were removed and we decided to leave that one window in until the replacement arrived. The capping for all the windows looks great! The team also did an excellent job of cleaning up. At the completion of the job they left the house just the way they found. You would never know that they were there except for the new windows of course. The one window that was the wrong size was re-ordered and was installed within 2 weeks. I was so happy with the quality of the windows and the installation that I immediately scheduled to have 5 additional windows replaced in another house that I own. Based on the experience I had I'm not sure why there are so many negative comments on this company. I'm glad I made the decision to use Window Wholesalers because I received good quality energy efficient windows for a very reasonable price. I will definitely utilize this company for all my future window projects.

Absolute nightmare, from the minute they came to my house to measure - vey hard sales. Example the sales person said this is the only time he will come for free to measure and refused to measure any windows that I might want to add to the agreement in a few days. When the windows were installed, they leaked air and were very hard to lock. Like others said they refuse to install the windows unless they have cash or a cashiers check. Sooo you paid all the money up front before any work is done on the house. Crazy! I called the company dozens of times as well as faxed complaint letters resulted in multiple attempts to fix the problems. All were unsuccessful. Now 19 months after the windows were installed water is leaking in many areas of my house because the caulking around windows split and some caps were never put on. Again I call/faxed the company - nothing. It really shows how little they care - they have not even responded to any of the postings on this site. I mailed a certified letter with pictures of the split caulking/missing caps and it came back to me unopened. I now have to get all the windows recaulked and my hard wood floors are bulcking due the the water damage by the windows. Stay away from this place no matter what they say about how they have the lowest prices.

The reason I went with them is because I got 2 references from people that I work with who had gotten windows from them and they were very inexpensive and good quality. I went ahead and had Window Wholesalers come out and measure and they're scheduled to install on Jan. 14th. I've only had one visit with them, but I've had a good impression of them so far.
Description of Work: I haven't recieved the windows yet, I have a contract with Window Wholesalers to come in next month, I have signed and paid for about 1/3 of the service until they come out. They are going to be replacing the windows in my home.

Response from Window Wholesalers Inc
We installed this job and we appreciate doing buissness with Angies members. Here at window wholesalers we always insure quality products at wholesale costs. The more our homeowners shop and compare, the more they find lower costs ,but, extremely high performance products.Exceeding enrgy star requirements are normal for us.Lower U Factors, higher R factors and amazing air ratings sum up a perfect choice for our clients.Dead lines are easy for us to hit since our clients time may be limited.

Initially very nice when Mitch came out. However after they left I noticed one window was damaged. I called the next day and never received a return call. A week later, I got the warranty in the mail. Called again & left a message, no response. After they take your money they do not want anything to do with you.
Description of Work: Had six windows installed.

I immediately scheduled an appointment to have them come to my house. The representative, Jill, was very courteous and friendly. The appointment was scheduled for the next day. Jill told me that they were listed on Angie's List. I soon when on Angie's List to research this company, only to find that the reviews were horrible. I called to cancel my appointment to find that the representative, Jill, was not only rude but questioned the validity of Angie's List. Furthermore, this company stated that they will only come to your house on a one-time basis and you must sign to receive the price from the initial phone call. Not recommended.
Description of Work: Having received (4) quotes from various window companies, I received a mailer in the local Penny Saver. Window Wholesalers was providing a great deal for us (44 DH windows and 5 sliders) for $265 each which included installation, low E, Argon gas, krypton gas, fully welded windows, and insulated sashes and frames.
