Harty Bros Carpet & Vinyl

I found them by their good reviews here and they did an amazing job! They did the flooring in my kitchen and one bathroom. It looks great! I'm so happy I did it! They showed up when they said they would and did an awesome job. What more can you ask for? They were also very nice people. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to get a floor done. And they have a beautiful showroom full of samples to view if you want to.

Perfectly. They are very professional and really understand "flooring". I learned loads as well as have a great new floor . Very pleased with them.

Harty Brothers provided excellent service. They have a vast quantity of selection in the store. They then came out to our house to measure and ordered the product, which arrived within a few days. We schedule the install and the installer was prompt and careful in his work. We plan to use Harty Brothers again next year when we replace the wall to wall carpeting throughout the house.

The experience was very rewarding. I had been looking to replace the old carpet for a long time but was never satisfied with the availability or quality at the large home provider stores. It was also somewhat intimidating to get help when I had little personal knowledge. The owners and staff at Harty's were phenomenal. The owner took his time and showed me various carpets that met my need. He was knowledgeable and took his time to help me make a decision without any pressure. When I needed assistance and answers to questions he was friendly and patient. I was initially just browsing and he was not in the least pushy. When I returned with my son to select the color and make arrangements for the measurement he was again patient and non-obtrusive. He arranged to come for the measurement within a week and the carpet was installed shortly thereafter as soon as it came into the shop. The price for the carpet, installation and removal was very reasonable. When the two workers came to install, they were efficient and very adept at the job. They moved all of the furniture, removed the old carpet, installed the new and replaced the furniture in a very short time. They were meticulous and did a wonderful job. The carpet fits beautifully, seamlessly and with no issues. The owner said that he his installers have worked with him for many years and it was obvious that they had years of experience. I would highly recommend them.

They were fine. They did a very nice job. The price was competitive. The person who actually installed it was terrific. He was very careful and very polite and prompt. He just did a very nice job and it was sort of a difficult job. They were a very good company. They were just good overall.

Harty Brothers did an awesome job in realizing that we wanted a low-cost carpet for the basement because it was to be a playroom and it would be messed up. Many other places tried to upsell us to carpet that would have been inappropriate for what we were doing. They gave good advice on the timing of the install during our remodeling -- we did it ourselves -- and showed up on time and did the work quickly. We're very happy.

Very professional, great inventory, very timely, did everything they said they would do

An estimate was given two weeks prior to installation, and the material was ordered. The material came in within the two week window I was given and an installation date was set up. The installer arrived promptly and proceeded with the installation which took about 3 - 3 1/2 hours. I am very pleased with the entire process of dealing with Harty Bros. from start to finish.

They were very professional and courteous. The work was impeccable. They cleaned up everything. We would recommend them.

Everything was excellent. I had been looking to match the color I had for months and month and since the spring time. Nobody had the color and they said it is an 80’s color. I went somewhere else and placed the order and then they said it was discontinued and asked me to forget about it. They told me that they would dye to match but I didn’t want that. I walked into Harty’s showroom and in 15 minutes I found my color. A man came a couple of days later and measured up and scheduled for installation. The installers were excellent and they cleaned up after themselves. I can’t fault them for anything they were just excellent except for moving everything. I am so happy. I am going to do some wood flooring and I am going to use them again. I found them because they are a family owned business. The other company I went to had terms and conditions for a whole page on the reverse side of the invoice. I saw Harty’s on Angie’s List and my neighbor had recommended him. I went to him and 15 minutes later I had what I wanted. I hope it holds up well. The other carpet I had was for 27 years.

Like others have said, these guys are on the quieter side. However, they are more than helpful with any questions you may have, so be prepared with things you'd like to ask. We had the rooms measured and then went to the store to pick out carpet. The guy there let us take home samples to look at because we couldn't figure out what color would work best. We ordered the carpet and they were prompt in calling us a few weeks later when it came in. On the scheduled day, they arrived on time and were professional. The carpet looks fantastic! I'm pretty happy with the overall experience and would trust them to do work again in the future.

This is the second time I used Harty Brothers. The first was for a kitchen floor, which was a brand of vinyl tile looking like real ceramic, even requiring grout. This was an excellent product, and excellent installation. So I went back for the faux wood stuff for my utility (laundry) and studio combo (music). I needed rugged waterproof flooring, which had a wood ambiance, and wasn't disappointed with the choice of product and their installation. The installation guy, however, took longer to do the job than I was told, needed to come back for 2 days, for a rather small area; possibly due to the number of cigarette breaks. Fortunately I was able to work from home during these two days; but if you have issues with being home, better explain to the salesperson/manager ahead of time that you are relying on an accurate estimate of installation time.

When we contacted Harty Bros to get an estimate and see some samples, Mr. Jim Harty came to our house explained the work to be done and invited us to come to the store to see more samples. We did, thought the price seemed fair and left a deposit for the work to be done when the carpeting comes in. I called them a week before 9/21 and they made the date for 9/22 and 9/23. I explained that we had appointments for 9/23 and they very kindly accommodated us for the 21st and 22nd. My husband and I are very pleased with their work and would recommend them highly.

Superb service at every step. We have been searching for new, easy maintance flooring for years without success. Then we visited the Harty Bros. store in North Plainfield, and found exactly what we'd been looking for. Jim Harty did a great job explaining all of the pros and cons of various types of flooring. We never felt pressured. Once we made a selection, Jim Harty came to our home to take measurements and calculate an reasonable estimate that we were happy to accept on the spot. Within two weeks, the vinyl planks had arrived from the manufacturer and were installed in our home. The installer did a really great job. Clearly an expert craftsman. Bravo Harty Bros! I'd use them again in a heart beat.

They fulfilled their commitment to time and day they would arrive; they did an AWESOME job! Their estimate was beyond competitive. They were clean, neat, professional, down to earth-great people to deal with from the our first meeting of Cliff to speaking with Jim one of the owners to meeting the installers Mark,James and Rick. I would recommend them to family and friends anytime without hesitation. By the time the installers were done I thought we should sit down and have a meal because I truly felt I had made a few new friends!

It went well. Each project was done by a different crew on successive days. The installers arrived at the appointed time and were done in a few hours. Everyone cleaned up after themselves.
