Never to my numerous correspondences to complete the painting project even when he knew that I was hospitalized for 38 days and almost died twice. He owed me the work I had to get my lawyer involved and in the I had to get the work completed because I'm in the process of selling my home which John "painter" was aware. I got the finished professionally and will go back to my lawyer to recoup my extra out of pocket from this beast! If anyone would a great reference for a professional painter who is also a gentleman feel free to as me. Carlos Almodovar, north Brunswick....john "painter" is also from which was one of the reasons I hired him - a local guy. I have all the texts I sent him saved that he did not respond to. Didn't really use real eggshell paint for the portion of my kitchen that he worked. All true.

John and Lou spackled and painted the interior walls and ceilings, and stained the front door of the house. These guys were punctual, clean, and responsive in addressing any and all concerns that I had during the job. The house looks gorgeous.

John exceeded all expectations when it came to painting the interior. This was the first time I hired a painter and he was very professional, trustworthy, and skilled. He was quick to respond to my “request a quote” online and gave me a written estimate before I hired him which I liked. He also had written receipts and signatures for the job which was good. We had a long, high ceiling hallway, dining room, and two bedrooms done. He got the job done in 2 days and it looks so much better, brighter, and open with the colors. He also patched up some parts of the wall that needed attention before painting. He was quick to answer all of my questions and I felt comfortable running errands while he was there painting. I am very satisfied and already reached out to him for a second job in the house. Prices were excellent!

Second year in a row I used Sunlight Contracting for our spring cleanup which includes pruning, weeding, mulching, etc. Lou & John are very professional. They show up on time and work steadily until the job is done. Very happy with their work. Will use them again next spring.

John and Lou were very responsive from the initial contact. They came out to provide a free estimate and were very friendly in discussing about the work. once everything was agreed upon, an appointment was made for the work to be done. They came on time to do the work as agreed upon earlier and did a good and clean job.

John and Lou were fantastic. Showed up when they said. Always friendly and approachable. They worked professionally and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Finished the project in the agreed upon time. Wife didn’t like the color she picked out for the walls(too light). So John and Lou came back and painted the walls with a darker color which thrilled the wife. Everything looks great. Would not hesitate to hire Sunlight again. But most of all would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys! Job well done.

John and Lou did a wonderful job. Even though the prices were slightly on a higher side, me and my husband still decided to go with sunlight contracting as the ratings were good. And that really did matter. Great quality of work and very time efficient. They completed the project even before the date given. We already passed on his reference to few of our friends who are looking for similar projects to get done. We would definitely hire them again for any future painting projects.

They were very attentive to my needs and listened to how I wanted the work done. The end result was absolutely perfect and exactly like I wanted it. We had our house painted by John recently and we had a really good experience. John started the job on the day he said he would. John completed the job on the day he said he would. He arrived every day at the time he said he would. He really took his time and wowed us every day when we got back. He was able to patch up some ugly cracks and holes skillfully leaving no trace of their existence. He left the house clean and moved things back to their original spots every day. We had minimal cleanup to do after we got home. He is polite, respectful and trustworthy and we didn't hesitate leaving the house (and our cat!) in his care. He was also very responsive and got back to us quickly anytime we had questions. In our 20+ years as homeowners, we have not seen as detailed a contract as the one provided by John. After the contract is signed he fulfills it faithfully as signed off. It behooves you to thoroughly read the contract and seek clarifications. He prices his job per the contract and they are very reasonable. Additional requests and items outside the contract are treated as such and priced separately. John is very good at his profession. We have no hesitation recommending him and would definitely bring him back again for future projects.

Have used Sunlight Contracting in the past for painting and was very pleased with their work. When I found out they did mulching in the summer, I felt very confident hiring them and I was not disappointed. Lou and John arrived on time, completed the work in a timely manner and cleaned up the walkways. They are professional, trustworthy and I would recommend them for both landscaping and painting.

We had quite a bit of work to be done for our spring cleanup. Trimming shrubs/trees, weeding 4 beds, removing a rhododendron that didn't make it thru the winter (RIP), edging 2 of the beds, & spreading dyed black mulch in all 4 beds. Lou, John & nephew(?) arrived when they said they would (8 am), worked continuously, & had the job done before noon. Very meticulous. Was very pleased with end result & will definitely be hiring them next year.

I contacted Sunlight and left a message as to the work that we were looking to have done. John called me back that night and he was at my home the next day to give us an estimate on the work to be done. John and Lou came to the house at the time they had promised and started their work. You never would've know that sanding had been done because they were meticulous and cleaned everything before they left. We contacted them again a day later because there was one spot on the ceiling that didn't take right away. Unlike other contractors, John returned my email right away and he and Lou were here the next day. My dining room ceiling looks as good as new! A family owned business that I would call again and again.

Outstanding job! The four rooms they painted for me look amazing and they cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. Extremely professional and well worth every penny. Would definitely hire them again when needed.

Overall, I had a great experience with sunlight contracting, specifically with John Maranca. He came out to my home and provided me with a great estimate and a detailed description of what would be done and what items were needed on my end. The job itself took about 3-4 days and the quality was great. We even painted our brick fireplace white which turned out very well. John is also very personable and friendly and provided a trustworthy level of service.

The final result is pretty good especially considering we had contractors doing other work at the same time. We are happy with the paint job and would recommend John to others.

Our half bathroom had some drywall damage which required skim coating to fix. John was ultra responsive, had competitive pricing, and came on time to give an estimate and perform the work. He did a great job and we would definitely hire him again.
