Modern fence replaced the old wooden fence that was destroyed by a storm. Both the consultation visit and installation was done very smoothly (completed in 2013). We love our new fence and have gotten multiple compliments from friends and neighbors. Last winter, I had to contact Ken (the owner) again because a section of the fence was destroyed by a fallen tree. Even thought it was off-season, Ken came out to the workshop and cut the material for me, which I appreciated tremendously. With his kind instruction, I was able to fix the section without much problem, and my fence is beautiful again!

Everything ran on schedule (weather cooperated). Everything was high quality. Staff cared about doing a good job. Owner and salesman were very responsive and detail oriented.

Very happy with Modern Fence. Mike was excellent in communicating and gave us prompt attention along the process. . He really wanted us to be happy with the fence. Their price was the best of 3 quotes I received. Their workers did an excellent job as well and took pride in their work while showing me after the fence was complete. Would highly recommend!

Everything was good until the day of the fence installation. Mike was punctual for the estimate meeting, and then very responsive to my emails through out the process. However, on the day of the fence installation, a bunch of Hispanic guys showed up. They were rude, and acted like they owned the company. Especially, when it came to where they were going to dump the excavated soil. They asked me where I wanted that soil to be dumped. I pointed them to under the trees which was the location that Mike and I discussed before. But they said "oh we cannot dump there cause it is not your property, it belongs to township". I thought okay, that made sense. No problem. How about you spread it under the trees and bushes, etc. in my property? Then the foreman says "oh it is too much work". Then I said "Well I was told that you would spread it anywhere I wanted". He asks me who said that? I say "Mike". Then he replies back saying "oh, he is just a salesman, he doesn't know anything". Then I pointed him to dump it under the deck (I have a raised deck). Oh, he says it is too much work. He would not want to do it, he is the laziest guy I have ever seen. Then I called Mike, and he shows up and tells me that he hires these guys on a daily basis, and he cannot control them. He tells me that they are asking $300 to put the soil under the deck, and I have to pay for that. I said okay I will pay but I want it nicely spread out. Then the foreman says, no he could not spread it, he could only dump it under the deck. At the end of the day, I refused to pay, and they dumped the soil on very nice grass. I had to spread it under the deck myself at the end of the day. But by that time, the grass underneath died. It cost me about $400 to fix the grass. One thing that I did not do and I wish I had done was to not allow them to put the fence up, and send them back, i.e. cancelling the contract even if that meant to cost me the deposit. In short, make sure you plan for the excavated soil, and the lazy Hispanic guys ahead of time.

My wife and I were in the market for a fence, we wanted a place that was an all in one shop from sales to installation. We stopped by their show room and talked with Mike and saw the different styles and colors. We got a quote from them and decided to shop around. We noticed that Angie's list had a $500.00 coupon from them so we talked to Mike and they honored it. He came out and did an official estimate and we tweaked some things like adding larger gates and aluminum cross beam instead to add extra strength. After getting a survey and permits we were able to schedule the fence install within a few days of notify them. A crew of three guys showed up with modern fence t shirts and their truck with all the fencing materials. I had to meet with the lead guy and just go over where to put the fence because the responsibility lies with the home owner. After showing them the property pins they marked it out and got started. The entire job was done in one day, there were some snags like due to my property I had to decide to level the tops of the fence and leave gaps on the bottom or follow the contour of the ground and have varying height posts. I chose to backfill the ground and have an even fence. Also Mike during the initial survey noted that because of the slop off my house the front gate needs to be level and there will be a large gap. The installers confirmed this as well but did all they could to make it look the best they could which was appreciated. One snag was they did hit a sprinkler line underground but can't really hold them at fault because you just don't know where they are. Overall the whole process was enjoyable and we are happy with what we paid for. I would recommend using them to anyone.

From the Sales Rep. to the Foreman and the workers, I was 100% satisfied with the project. The fence is beautiful and great quality. I give Modern Fence my full recommendation for any Fence installation!!!

The experience was great. Mike @ Modern Fence assisted us through the entire process. He provided ideas and recommendations from other projects when we were still in our decision making phase. He made sure we understood the cost and what we were going to get for the price and was also very helpful throughout the installation of the fence. Its been about 3 years since we've had the fence installed and we still love every bit of it.

Had outdoor steps rebuild and needed railings. Have used Modern Fence in the past to install PVC fence and was impressed with work. Ken had given an estimate and I had asked if it could be done ASAP. He gave me a couple of weeks and the results were great. Would use again.

Excellent customer service & expert professional service. From my first call to Modern Fence for basic information, through the final call from our representative (Mike) after the job was completed, everything was very good. It is obvious they care about doing a good job. It was easy to schedule an estimate and the work itself. The labor crew was easy enough to communicate with, and everything went as planned as far as I could tell. They showed up earlier than scheduled (30 minutes) both days, but to me that was significantly better than late! Our representative through the process, Mike, was great to work with and incredibly knowledgeable about everything having to do with fencing. We would definitely recommend Modern Fence.

Modern Fence was excellent. The fence is beautiful. The installation was performed according to plan and the installation team was very professional and walked me through every step of the process before it was performed, to make sure it was according to what I expected.

We could not be happier with the work that Modern Fence did. From the first time that they came out to our house to give us a quote, they were extremely professional and provided a very detailed explanation of their products and how the fence installation process would work. They worked us into their schedule as soon as possible and they were incredibly polite and professional when they showed up to do the work. The work quality was great and we highly recommend this company! We received quotes from several other companies who did not offer to the same type of quality or warranty and they wanted the same amount of money or more.

Modern Fence installed my fence and did a good job. The only complaint I have, is they do not remove the dirt that they dig up. For example this is my first house. We needed a fence, I had no idea the amount of dirt they dig up and leave in the backyard. I signed the contract and it is written it there. The contract is long, I didn't read every detail. In any case if you want to deal with dirt and it is your responsibility to get rid of it, call them. They will install a beautiful fence for you. I also called them back and said I needed a few more spots to put the same fence. This time I said, please remove the dirt for me. They said they can't they have no where to put it. LOL I said there is another company that will put up the fence and remove the dirt. I am going to use them, but wanted to give you the job. Modern fence would not budge on dirt so I called someone else to do it.

I could not recommend a company more highly and I am incredibly difficult to please. Ken from Modern Fence was attentive, punctual, answered overtime and if he couldn't he returned every phone call almost immediately. His workers were polite and extra helpful and the work was beautifully done. I am not one to write a review whoever the work and people involved blew everyone of my expectations and to boot they were very fairly priced!. If anyone if looking for new Fencing Modern fence is the absolute best!!!!

After obtaining several estimates we chose modern fence to replace our aging wood fence with a new vinyl fence. We made our decision because we were impressed with amount of time Ken spent with us over two visits. Ken walked us through all of our options explaining the differences between cedar and vinyl suggesting colors and preparing multiple estimates so we could decide, walking our property and discussing every aspect of the work. We felt comfortable with his advice and attention to our needs. He answered our calls quickly and made several visits and sent us samples. The crew was attentive to detail and professional, frequently calling us outside to make placement decisions. They cleaned up as they worked and again at the end. the fence looks awesome and we are quite satisfied with the entire experience.

I did extensive research and priced out approximately 7 different companies which all specialized in fencing. Ken, from Modern Fence, met with me and looked at my property, took measurements and gave me critical information that no other company had given me. Ken was very detailed, cared about his line of work, and was very, very informative. He spent quite a bit of time with me explaining all my options. I realized I was working with someone who not only knew a lot about the fencing business but also the local zoning regulations. I learned that I had received a lot of misinformation or no information at all from previous very well known fencing companies. I then decided to meet with other companies to continue comparing against Modern Fence and after three additional comparisons I stopped. It became clear to me that I had found a truly outstanding company not only in quality but in price. In my opinion, no other company beat Modern Fence's price and quality. I met with Ken again at Modern Fence to go over all the details, once against asking a lot of questions and Ken was very patient and eager to ensure that I was comfortable and well informed. Ken drew up a very detailed and professional contract, complete with a clear diagram and on the back it detailed the terms and conditions and limited lifetime warranty. Prior to the installation of the fence Modern Fence arranged to have the underground public utilities located and marked. Everything was all set for installation and the crew arrived on time. Domingo asked questions throughout the day ensuring everything was being done exactly how I liked it and also gave me input based on his experience. The job took 2 days and on both days the crew showed up on time and worked very hard. I was naturally anxious because this is a big job and a very important one because its a very big part of the look of your home. Ken came around a few times to see how things were coming along and overall I have to say it was a great experience. I received compliments from my neighbors and am proud of my fence. Ken and his team really do care about the quality of their work and goes to great lengths to ensure that you are ultimately happy with the finished product. I would absolutely recommend this company without hesitation. You are welcomed to shop around as I did but I do believe you'll decide on Modern Fence.

It went extremely smooth.

This is the second time I hired Modern Fence and on both occasions, the quote request and installation were performed professionally. Mike M. listened to our request and surveyed the property for an accurate estimate. He was courteous and did not try to push a sale. The installers came on-time and powered through the installation despite the humid temps. The installer did break a sprinkler line but were honest and immediately notified me of the break. The installers did a wonderful job ensuring the fence followed the curvature of the ground and took the time to clean up after the installation.

Pre-Installation: I contacted Modern Fence through Angie's list and a few days later was visited by their salesman Mike. Mike was very knowledgeable, thorough, and very responsive to all my follow-up questions/adjustments. The whole process could not have gone any smoother. Installation: The crew that came out did a very good job. The crew made sure I was happy with the installation plan and were exact about how/where the fencing was to be installed. The crew also powered through the install on a very scorching hot and humid day. I was surprised how quickly the install was done and was happy that I could get on with my day. The fencing materials seem very heavy duty, a huge plus. Also the posts of the fence are really deep and sturdy. I don't think this fence is going anywhere for a long while... we'll see in 10+ years, fingers crossed!

Then, last winter, we had some fallen tree branches that bent part of the top rail of the picket fence. Mike came out to give us a quote on fixing it, but as it hadn't affected the operation of the gate, we decided not to fix it. Poor Mike. I called him again this week and we laughed that indeed, he has never seen any one customer this much in two years! Last month, there was a home explosion and fire at our next door neighbor's. The fence on that side of the house that wasn't blown down, was melted. Again, Mike came out in a few days time and is giving us a quote we can submit to our insurance company. While we love hanging out with Mike, we do hope this is the last disaster we experience so we can just enjoy our fence instead of repair it! Modern Fence is the best!

I was having concrete patios in yard and a driveway put in so 3/4 of yard was fenced in first. They came back a second time and installed the posts when the concrete for the patios was poured. After the driveway was poured they came back a third time to finish the fence. I did have to pay extra $$ for the multiple installations. In the end the fence looks beautiful. I have received many compliments on it. I also had a coupon for a free mailbox that was on Angie's List from Modern Fence. Modern Fence honored the coupon and the mailbox was shipped to me. Very nice quality mailbox. I would definitely recommend Modern Fence to anyone looking to have a QUALITY fence installed.
