Modern Fence

I found them on Angie's List. It worked out perfectly. He came out for an estimate immediately and when I had a couple of concerns about the installation, the owner of the company came out the very next day which was Saturday, in the rain, and addressed all my concerns. The work was average, the customer service was great and the owner was very hands on. The staff could use a little more professionalism.

From start to finish, the job went well. I had an estimate provided to me in December 2012 and was told that they wouldn't do the work until the ground was thawed. It gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and didn't want to rush the job. On the day of work, the crew arrived on time and worked hard the entire 2 days of the project. They removed the old sections of fencing and replaced it with a new vinyl fence. Our neighbors wanted a few sections of the old fence and these were deducted from the original cost of removal. The fence came out great and makes our entire property look so much better. I would not hesitate to recommend Modern Fence to neighbors and friends who are looking to have a new fence installed.

i spoke to Ken and initially contacted via Angies list. I had other two estimates from local central jersey companies. Ken has best quality product out there and the colors..whoa...his vinyl is thicker then major brands. They make it themselves. He was responsive via emails and text messages due to our work schedules clashing...works for me :) Workers were friendly and worked hard,i cant believe it was done up so fast... manual work and mixed concrete on spot. Im very happy with my choice....i had recommended him to my co-worker that had already signed work contract with him as well. My fence is the nicest in town...sorry neighbors with cheap big box story vinyl fence Im completing another half of the project later this year...i cant wait

They were responsive to my initial call and we set up an appointment for an estimate. We agreed on the work to be done and we made a tentative appointment for after my vacation. I called upon my return and they came several days later and did the job. The workers were courteous and professional. They did a great job and cleaned up any residual materials before they left. In all, the project went very smoothly and I'm satisfied with my new fence.

We reached out to Modern Fence in late February 2013 to inquire about the timing and cost for the installation of a wooden fence and metal driveway gates. Our initial request was sent, via Modern Fence's website, and, within 1 hour, we were contacted by MF's representative, Mike Malinowski. Mike met us the following day to discuss our needs and the path forward. We received a quote for the job within days of the consultation. We understood that the installation was dependent on the availability of materials as, in most situations, each job is unique. The wooden fence and metal driveway gates were installed last week and we are very pleased with both the quality of materials and the professionalism of MF's sales and operational staff members.

Great, the material they used was excellent. My next door neighbors had the vinyl fence between our properties done a year ago and the difference in quality is apparent. The price was better. I'm glad we waited and found this company. They came right out and gave us an estimate and installation was prompt after the permits were done.

I need about 7 fence panels, 54 feet and 6' high. Modern Fence came out and gave me a great estimate of $1,750. I would have chosen them but, unfortunately, they have a waiting list of 2 months and I'm not willing to wait that long.

We requested estimates from several places through Angies List after the big storm. Modern Fence was the first to respond and quickly came to the house, looked at the damage and helped us form a plan for debris removal and preparing an estimate for our insurance company. They started debris removal in November and scheduled an install for early April. They came when promised and spread the work over two days. We made sure that all permits and survey work was given before we approved work to proceed. They finished early on 04/09/2013-the job was better than we could have hoped! The product and workmanship was terrific! They delivered as promised and did not disappoint. They should always be your first choice if you need vinyl fencing!

Gave me the best price and the quality of the work was great. Have recommended my neighbors to use Modern fence for their fencing needs.

The company did an excellent job. I am very pleased with the installation process and the fence, and have received numeroud compliments on it. Ken was very professional. We arranged an appointment at my house for 7pm on 6/4/12. Ken called at 6:40pm to advise he was running a few minutes late and would arrive at 7:10 - I appreciated his courtesy in calling. When Ken arrived at 7:10 pm, he had his laptop and electronic/laser measuring tool. I showed him the areas where I wanted the fence and gates installed, and pointed out possible issues and concerns. Ken gave complete and full explanations and answers and took the measurements. He inputted all the information into the laptop, and printed out the proposal/contract with the fence schematic. I was very impressed. Ken explained and highlighted the relevant contract terms and conditions, as well as the limited lifetime warranty. I signed the contract before he left that evening. Ken recommended that I obtain a survey, which I was planning to do - the last survey had been performed in 1970 when my parents purchased the property. Ken also gave me an estimated date for the installation - the week of 7/16. In fact, Modern Fence called on June 15 because they were ready to install the following week. But I explained that the surveyors had not surveyed the property yet. However, the survey was performed on 6/22 and I picked it up on 6/25. No permit from my town was required for the fence installation. Modern Fence called on 6/29 to arrange installation on 7/2 - 2 weeks ahead of schedule- and installed the gates on 7/3. The crew was very professional. If they had questions, they came to me to resolve them rather than proceeding on their own without asking. They also cleaned up the debris very well - only a few isolated shavings/small pieces were left in various places on the grass. As an epiliogue, I suffered damage as a result of Superstorm Sandy at the end of October. A large maple tree in my backyard split and a portion fell in my backyard and the neighbor's backyard. Luckily, it didn't hit our houses, but it did smash 2 panels of the privacy fence. Ken came in early December to inspect the damage and gave me an estimate - we signed a contract and Modern Fence will perform the work sometime in early 2013, depending on the weather.

From start to finish the engagement went very smoothly. Mike M, is one of the nicest people I have met and definitely the most sales person I have ever come across. He genuinely cares for his customers and makes good on his promises. The price quoted was very fair given the quality of the workmapship and materials. While there were some unexpected delays in starting the job due to a delay at the supplier's end, Mike kept us in the loop through regular updates. The work crew cleaned up after themselves and the foreman was very professional. And I think it was very nice of Mike to call us a few days after Hurricane Sandy to check if there was any damage to the fence. I was glad to report that the fence had no damange whatsoever, while some of my neighbor's fence panels got blown away. But more than that what we really appreciated was his thoughtfulness. I would gladly recommend Modern Fence to friends and family.

The gentlemen, Mike, from Modern fence was very professional and courteous. He explained everything and answered all my questions. I loved the whole expereince from beggining to end. I recomed them!! They were great to work with! Price was fair also. I did my homework and they gave me the best price for my job that was needed.

This service went well overall. Mike was very professional and attentive. Always called back immediately if we had any questions. Because of the excessive heat on the original installation date, the job had to be delayed a bit, but we knew going in that this was a possibility. We had plenty of notice to make adjustments.

From estimate to final product, Modern Fence was one of the EASIEST contractors/companies that I've ever had to work with. Knowledgable, high-quality product, clean, and thorough, I told Mike (our contact) what I wanted and he made the process as smooth as possible. The contractors were on time, very professional, and CLEAN (which is a big deal when people are digging up your yard!). As issues came along with my property, they alerted me and we came up with solutions on the spot to not deter the install. I couldn't be happier with my fence. If you're on the fence (no pun intended) on who to use for fencing, here's what sold me on Modern Fence: -They make their own fencing, they do not get them from wholesalers, so they are VERY knowledgable about the product -Their fences come with a lifetime warranty and this transfers to the new owners if you sell your house (great property value add!) -They hand mix their concrete for the posts, which is the proper way (as opposed to many installers that pour dry and then add water after) -They take care of everything with marking out the property (gas lines, electrical, etc) -Their estimates are EXACT (no hidden fees anywhere!) -They are clean -They are tech savvy (I was able to text, E-mail, and etc. with Mike to communicate our needs as they changed)

I contacted Ken by e-mail (my preferred method of communication) and he was very responsive. I e-mailed him at least 10 times with questions and he responded to each promptly. We had a few special circumstances (tying into neighbors' fences, avoiding shrub stumps) but they said everything was no problem. The price was the best in the area, by far. They arrived on the scheduled date right on time and worked very hard. The whole thing was done in about 3 hours by 3 guys. They were polite and they cleaned everything up so well. The fence looks great, is sturdily installed, and was put exactly where we indicated we wanted it. They allowed us to pay by credit card over the phone which was very convenient. When I called to do so, Ken followed up on how everything went. He was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely call Modern Fence again.

Mike from Modern Fence came to our house to give us an estimate on a fence for our property. He was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us explaining his product and getting measurements for the estimate. We really liked Mike's presentation and would have used Modern Fence for the job. The estimate was very competitive at $3825 to replace the rear fence with a vinyl fence. The only reason we went with a different company is because the other company does other services such as sprinkler systems, lighting, etc. I would recommend Modern Fence in the future.

We worked with Mike on the estimate. Mike was very professional. The quality of the fence is good. Our issue was with the installation of the fence. The installers left wet concrete on our patio, which left a mark on the patio. They also splashed concrete on the patio chair. They worked with someone to get the mark off the patio, it is mostly gone. If they had used the hose when they spilled it, there wouldn't of been an issue. They also left huge pieces of dry concrete around the yard.

Ken (the owner) came to our house to survey the job and spend several hours with us on that first visit. He worked closely with us to problem-solve one area of the yard that was not graded properly and gave us an estimate right then and there. Modern Fence made the fence with a radius (bend) that would avoid placing a corner on an upward angle - something that no other fencing company was able to offer to us. We received three estimates total and Modern Fence was competitive in their pricing. What put them in the front of the pack for us was their ability to make their own fence, working around that problem area in our yard. Ken was very responsive to our numerous questions and gave us several ideas when we were deciding about what type of fence we wanted as well as size, working within the regulations of our township for pool fencing. He called us back regardless of day of the week or time of the day - Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, it did not matter - Ken responded. The guys who came to install the fence were friendly and professional. They worked hard and finished the work in a day and a half! The end product is beautiful and we love spending time in our yard now - something we cannot say before our new fence.

I inherited a (200 ft.) 10+ yr old fence that took a beating during hurricane Irene. It needed repair badly but I wasn't necessarily looking to replace it just yet. I had considered other options but after two other estimates I decided to go with Modern Fence. During my free estimate i was given some options that would keep the cost down on a new vinyl fence and I was also given a suggestion for a color combination that would compliment my house. Within a week of signing the contract I had a scheduled date for installation. On the day of installation the crew was prompt, thorough and courteous. I am very pleased with the service I received for estimate to completion.

Modern Fence I signed a contract, and negotiated really hard with Modern Fence. They ended up canceling their contract with me. After reflecting back, I was probably a pain of a client to deal with. The gut Mike, that I worked with, that came out and did the estimate and everything was very professional, He was very informative and answered a lot of questions. I had a coupon from Angie's List. They said it wasn't included in the special I wanted, and it didn't say that anywhere on the coupon.
