DnR Reglazing

Diego arrived promptly when he said he would, and he and Joaquin cleaned, scraped out old grout, regrouted and then repaired some cracks and holes on day 1. On day 2, final wall prep and then application of several coats of polymeric material. They were very hard working, polite, professional, and incredibly neat and tidy. The results were spectacular, and the bathroom is now gleaming Kohler white instead of the 50's era green and pink that it used to be. Several people who have seen the bathroom refuse to believe that the tub is not a new one. I would heartedly recommend Diego to anyone needing this kind of work

DnR was simply OUTSTANDING from start to finish. Diego was on vacation when I called his company. Nevertheless, he was prompt in returning my call. He came the following day to provide an estimate. He was thoroughly professional, extremely pleasant, and equally knowledgeable. The bathtubs were in rough shape and a fair amount of regrouting needed to be done. Other companies that I called indicated that I needed to have this work done before they would start the reglazing work, or that they would charge $600 extra if they had to do the regrouting. Diego, reviewed the scope of the work and said that he preferred to do the regrouting and the removal of the glass door on the bathtub himself so that he could ensure that the work was done correctly and to his satisfaction. In addition, his estimate for the work came in $650 LESS than the base estimate provided by another company I found on Angie's list. (The other company quoted a price of $2350 to do the work. This quote did not include the cost of regrouting or removal of the shower doors). Diego and his assistant arrived on Sept. 14 promptly at 8:30am as promised and worked tirelessly to get both bathrooms done in 2 days. Their work was beyond meticulous! The workmanship was outstanding. He and his assistant cleaned the work area and left the bathrooms spotless. The end result is that 2 bathrooms are simply gorgeous! The grout work was seamless. The reglazing makes the bathrooms look as if they were newly remodeled. In addition, he completed the work on time and on budget. My brother-in-law is (to his own admission) very tough on contractors. He inspected the work and said, "I have seriously never seen workmanship that good. I have to say they really did a GREAT job!" I would most certainly recommend DnR to anyone! In fact, my brother-in-law and sister decided that they are going to have DnR do their bathroom!

He and his helper arrived on time! They were immaculately clean and careful of my newly refinished floors! It took all day but this was no small job - a plastic shower stall had surrounded the tub and it had to be removed and all the disgusting old grout chipped away - same for tiling grout on floor. When the shower stall came off so did some loose tiles and Diego went to HD to replace them. When he could not find a color match, he got the closest he could and reglazed them the same color as the others! It was a miracle what he did!! Totally changed the look and appearance of my bathroom!! I have been frustrated out of my mind by contractors who don't show up, don't call, give low ball estimates and then charge 200% more! I have had to abandon projects because of excessive "miscalculated" costs. Diego was an oasis in a sea of discouragement. He is one in a million and charged me EXACTLY what he said it would be. Well worth the wait my friends! Do yourself a favor and hire Diego!!!!!

All I can say is Diego is a God send! We have lived in our home for 4 years and neve used the basement bathroom becuase it was just ugly and dingy, but thanks to Diego he made our bathroom look brand new. I was nervous about the reglazing but it's just like gettinga new bathroom for a fraction of the price. We could not be more happy and now we've also hired Diego to do our main floor bathroom. Diego is super professional and doesn't leave a mess in your home. Awesome job!

The tub looks spectacular. I had attempted to use a consumer product to refinish the tub myself and despite my best efforts to follow the instructions to a T, the tub started badly peeling in a months time. Diego responded to my call right away and booked his soonest available appointment. The work was done quickly and at the time he said he would be there, and the tub looks like a brand new tub! I'm exceedingly happy and would recommend Diego to anyone. Thanks!

Diego and his wife were very professional, gracious and courteous. Showed up on time. Set up his equipment -- vent fan to the window to minimize the fumes, liners to cabinets, floor mats. The reglaze bathtub is SUPERB! Like new! They cleaned up and left the bathroom in a spic-and-span. Very happy to know them through Angie's list. I will recommend Diego and will use him for future work.

Excellent! Diego is very skilled at what he does. He arrived on time and did such a neat job setting up the work space. He was very careful not to mess up the floor of the small space and to my surprise there was minimal oder. He finished the work faster than I expected and the clean up was thorough. My tub looks so pristine and exactly how I wanted it to look. After Diego was done the entire room just came together. I am very satisfied with his work. Dream come true!

Diego and his wife (who works with him) showed up at the designated time. They promptly set up for the job. Everything necessary was covered up to minimize dirt and prevent damage. They placed a vent fan in the window to remove any paint fumes.The bathtub was re glazed and re caulked to perfection. Everything was then cleaned up and the bathroom was left spotless My bathtub looks brand new and the receipt has instructions on how to clean and care for the bathtub finish. Diego guarantees the finish for five years. Diego and his wife are true professionals at their trade. They are skillful, as well as nice, courteous people. I would not hesitate to use them for any future work or to recommend them to family and friends.

My tub was in desperate need of reglazing or replacing. Replacing the tub would have been several thousand dollars, and I had a lot of difficulty finding a reglazer that a) would come to my home as parking is difficult and b) not charge a fortune. Through a lot of Googling, I found Diego. He was very professional and thorough. It took several hours to complete the job and I couldn't be happier. Every time I get in the shower now I am so happy to be in a beautiful, clean space. Highly recommend.

I decided on DnR Reglazing/Diego based on overall A reviews from Angie's List and after having talked to him over the phone. Despite an initial issue with him not getting the COI that my building required until the last minute (because of his own insurance provider getting it to him late), he did show up on time, together with his female colleague. He explained the process to me, and confirmed before starting that the price would be $425 (and not $500, which is what he charges for bigger/older bathtubs), like we had estimated over the phone beforehand. Although he ran into some issues with my window being a bit too small for fitting the air hose which was needed for proper circulation, he and his partner did sort it out and got the work done as planned. They had finished everything in about 3-3.5 hours, including cleaning the bathroom really well, and he told me that it would be best that I didn't use the bathtub for some 48 hours, which I didn't. He also advised me that some of the tiny air bubbles that were left would not go away completely, which also happened, but I feel that they are so tiny that they're not worth complaining about (and I like the fact that he informed me about them/that they were anticipated, so you know what to expect). He also told me about fiber glass tubs (which I have) vs. other types, and pointed out a small crack in my tub before he started, so that I would be aware of it and not blame him for it, etc. Finally, he also confirmed what I had experienced myself, namely that there was no way to get rid of the stains on my tub without him reglazing it (he tried his hardest sand paper, but to no avail). Overall, I was super happy with Diego's work and that of his partner, and would 100 percent recommend his services again.

DnR is the real deal, the work is excelent and they really go out of their way to make sure they don't disturb your living space in anyway. I haven't been able to find any flaw in the work so far, very meticulous.

Diego was great. Very responsive to queries and provided very useful information. He arrived on time on the day the work was to be done, and after looking at the tub to be redone said that he thought it would take 4-5 hours. He completely stripped down the tubs existing beat up and cracked enamel before recoating with a few coats of clean white enamel. He covered all exposed surfaces and set up ventilation equipment to avoid any fumes in the apartment. The new tub looks brand new, and has stood up fine to regular usage so far. In addition to the work done, I asked if he could take a look at the caulking around a downstairs shower and replace. After looking at it, he pointed out to me that the caulking was fine, and had been done with a clear caulk (which is why I did not realize it was properly caulked). Given that he could have easily done and charged me for re-caulking the shower and I would not have known the difference, I found his honesty quite refreshing. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs similar work done.

I live in a four room condo with two baths. I met Diego about two weeks before the job started for an estimate ($625) on one bath tub which was in bad shape and a start date (see above). He was punctual then and when he showed up to do the work. He was personable, organized, thorough, and completely professional and finished the job in 5 1/2 hours, just as he said which included the clean up. I also noticed he worked safely having a respirator and bringing his own window fan to remove vapors generated from the glazing materials. You could see he knew what he was doing in handling those materials and any tools required for the job. When he finished, I was amazed at the results. The bathtub area looked brand new which gave the entire room an upgraded appearance. I highly recommend Diego to anyone who wants this kind of work done.

WOW.. professional clean and my tub looks fantastic . I can't rave enough.. no headaches no problem .. I wish every contractor was like this. I would hired and most recommend again!

Our old tub was green and we redid our bathroom with a black and white color scheme so we wanted to reglaze the tub white. Diego offered me two choices: American standard white or kohler white. Amazing! The whole project took about 3hrs and he and his wife were curious and professional. They were clean and took respect of the apartment and building. I would highly recommend Diego! I would upload pictures of the before and after but I don't see that option. The after is just outstanding!

We were renovating the bathroom in our rental unit in Jersey City and when we redid the tile, appliances, etc. we noticed how faded the tub looked. Since it's a gem of a tub we knew we needed it reglazed. Having never done anything like this before it was important that we found the right person. After scouring Angie's List and sorting through some of the "no's" we found Diego. This is where it get's good. I had 3 days before our tenants were moving into the house. We live in Philadelphia and couldn't meet anyone there -- we just had to trust them. When we reached out to Diego, he said he couldn't be there fore 2 weeks due to his busy schedule -- after some delicate prodding he still couldn't help I explained how we saw he had the best reviews, no one else does his quality work, etc -- to no avail. 15 minutes later Diego called me and said that he moved some things around and could do the work that day. He worked after hours, and in quick time. When we walked in to the bathroom to survey his work -- wow! I never imagined it could look so good. Thank you Diego.

Diego is quick to respond to the initial inquiry. He came by within a few days to take a look at job in person and gave us the estimate, and we agreed to a job date. The job took less than 2 days and everything looks great, and then another 2 days to cure. There is a chemical smell so be sure to have good ventilation. The original bathroom was a sea of blue, if it could be blue it was blue. While we were able to replace the blue toilet and sink quickly, only until now were we able to finally get rid of the blue tile extravaganza. However, I learned after the job was done that the floors could not be reglazed (as they would scratch easily which was something that could have been clearer - I was not there at the end of the job). Perhaps this is something that is well known had I done more research, but I missed that clarification as I had included it in my inquiry. So write your agreement down to avoid misunderstandings! Another lesson learned on my part for any contract work. Other than that, the job is beautiful. Very nice and smooth and very white! Have already recommended to a neighbor who was over and saw the results.

We decided not to move forward with the project, otherwise I would have used him.

The original tub was medium quality at best. Over the years it had rusted and gotten scratches. It also had stickers that had to be removed. Diego arrived when he said and worked very professionally. He and his partner taped up everything and removed and took all of the garbage with them. Several years ago (before Angie's list) we had another tub reglazed and it cost us more and the quality was not nearly as good. In addition to glazing he re-caulked and even cleaned some grout that had gotten on the tub and tiles when the floor was installed. I would recommend him to anyone who wants an old tub to look brand new again.

Diego gave us a free in person estimate. Showed up exactly on time and worked the entire day . They cleaned up , leaving everything neat as a pin. Our pre-war bath shines now --an excellent job -- one of the best worker experiences we've had in our 30 plus years in NYC. Recommend him highly.

Diego and worker arrived at my home on time, they both were very courteous and respectfully removed their shoes, and left them at the front door entrance (we are a no shoes in home residence). He explained what would happen and how long it would take, and the time was exactly as indicated, 4-5 hours. The smell, as a result of the re-glazing, was minimal and was completely gone in a day. The tub looked brand new after the work was completed. I was very pleased. Diego was not able to re-caulk around the tub, since he did not have caulk matching the existing tile and grout color, so I did the re-caulking myself. In retrospect, I should have gone out to get the right color caulk, or send a picture to Diego so he can bring it or let me know to get the caulk ahead of time. Diego cleaned up very nicely when they left. They did a fantastic job, I would definitely hire them again if needed.

Diego showed up on time and called me that he was looking for parking in our crowded Manhattan neighborhood. He laid down drop cloths to protect our floors, worked conscientiously for four hours, completely cleaned up, and finished the job within the estimated time. He said that apparently the tub had been reglazed several times before and he stripped it down to the original finish so that the new finish would adhere better. That took some extra time and effort. The tub looks beautiful now. He did a really good job. He was professional & personable. I would recommend him without any reservations!
