Thankfully I had a mutual friend introduced me to Mike Lakin prior to starting my project. I needed to correct drainage on a commercial property I have on route 206. I previously hired an engineer and different contractor whose prices for theproject were more than triple the cost of what Mike charged. I also would like to add a lot less invasive and a lot less time involved. Thanks Mike

Marty and Mike went over and above to get my septic system installed as well as work with the engineer, county, and town to get approvals. They worked through holiday weekends and maintained constant communication and I could not recommend them enough.

I called Mike after a septic pumping company told me I likely had a bad pump and needed to replace the pump. Mike deduced that the system had likely not been set up well and was causing a false alarm. After testing that the pump was indeed working, he set the Alarm Float at an appropriate level. No new pump needed, and he tried to get away without charging me for the time. We must have spent 30-45 minutes looking and testing the various parts of the system.

The Lackens have been wonderful to work with. They understood our needs, accommodated our requirements and arranged and undertook all the required work (including the subcontracting parts) in an efficient and timely manner. Great communication, and nice people to boot. Highly recommended.

We hired Michael Lacken to replace our aging septic. From the first meeting it was very clear they are absolutely a cut above standard contractors. We have a difficult lot which is both small and shallow, which required a very specific type of system to meet township and state regulations, and Michael's team were able to deliver. The whole process has been smooth from start to finish; communication with their team is excellent, the septic has been installed with no hidden fees or costs to us, and they have been very thorough in making sure we are happy with the results. I would recommend this company 100% .

Found them on home advisor. Very nice and friendly. Asked for a cash payment discount and received one. Without informing us on when they planned to start, they just showed up a Sunday evening to unload their machine onto our back lawn. We were a bit angry as we had no idea they were showing up. The husband told us they would be there the next day, 8am but possibly a little later as their son was in an accident and would be working with them. They assured it was a 1 day project (new d box, locking lid, riser, seed) OK, no problem. They showed up at 2pm and left 230 the next day. Mad that I did not pay them for their unfinished job, they threatened to no longer give me a cash payment discount. I responded with a not so happy email (the only way they responded to me) and didn't hear a word for days. They once again showed up unannounced to finish the job. Our lid needed to be at ground level but he got too big of a size so now it sticks out of the ground a extra 6-7 inches which is right in our backyard for everyone to see. Didn't seed the spots their machine ripped up the grass. Looking in our home surveillance system, the husband was drinking beer while operating the machine and working on our septic. His backhoe was filled with empty beer cans behind the seat and side. They finished the job but also never put bolts in the lid. I had to reach back out to which they once again showed up unannounced to put in the bolts. Didn't even let us know they stopped by, we had to look on the cameras.

Mike and Marty Lacken built a complete septic system for us - on schedule including coordinating all of the inspections required by the county. Great cleanup at the end including landscaping and seeding. Very professional company with good communication during every phase of the project. I highly recommend them.

They were prompt when they first answered but the job took longer than what was quoted.

Great response time and overall work performance. problem started on Friday and called other contractors with no fix. My wife called their office & they came Sat morning. Pipe was fixed and back online by early afternoon. Came back on Sunday and did some extra work that should have been done by the original contractor then made some final adjustments and back filled. Price was very reasonable for weekend work Highly recommend.
