Passaic Bergen Water Softening

Joe came to my house and showed me several options in the way of water softeners. I've been suffering for years with dry, itchy skin all over and acne on my shoulders and back and never realized it was due to hard water and high chlorine (I thought my problem was with detergent sensitivities)! Because of the dual issue, I asked for the CareSoft Elite RC unit to eliminate the hardness as well as the chlorine. We've only been using the unit for about a week but as the softened water mixes in with the leftover 500 gallons in my hot water heater and dilutes the hardness, I can feel the burning of my skin subsiding. I have no doubt that once that old water is out of the heater, I will finally have peace when it comes to skin irritation. Joe and his installer did a very neat and professional job putting in the unit. They were prompt, courteous, and discussed every option with me such as which way to face the unit and my preferences for drainage. I had one other installer come to my home for a price quote. The prices were about the same, however, this unit appears to be far more modern and thus superior to the other one that was offered to me. All the other companies I looked into online and by phone appeared to have higher quotes than Bergen Passaic, some much higher.

The installer, office employees and Owner were very professional. Had a good personality and better then that knew what they were doing. They kept the scheduled times for the install. I would recommend them anytime and to anyone. Thank you for doing a great job.

I had called two other providers, one never showed, the other was more expensive. Called this one and they showed up the next day when they said they would. It's one of those experiences you have where the guy has exactly what you need, has it for a good price and knows it. Not that they're obnoxious, not at all, just confident that this is what you need and the price is better than you will get elsewhere. I think it's a small industry where they really know their competition and what products are being offered. That being said the install was flawless. It only took about 3 hours at most. They were neat, clean and it has performed perfectly since it was installed. It takes a bit of an adjustment in shampoo, but that's no big deal. This is the first winter where I have not had cracked fingers! I love this water softener, it's made such a big difference in my skin. I actually didn't have one installed for my skin, I had it installed for my new appliances and faucets. They're new and I didn't want the hard water in my area to destroy them over time. In the past I've replaced several faucets in my bathroom because the hard water destroyed them. So I'm hoping this water softener will pay for itself in lack of plumbing costs for new faucets. REALLY glad I did this, no more water spots, hopefully no destroyed appliances and faucets and the added bonus is my skin. Very happy with Passaic Bergen, they're true professionals and I recommend them highly. They gave me exactly what I needed and did the job right the first time. What more could I ask for?

Called to make an appointment for a free estimate. The rep was on time and very informative providing liticher and options to my request and even going as far as telling me about his personal setup at his home regarding softening his water. As I had completed a extensive amount of research, the rep was able to steer me in the right direction, explaining the different options available and what all the angles were to these solutions. After a number of months of completing more research and saving up for the instalation, I called and setup an appointment for the softener and filtration system to be installed. The gentalmen who installed the equipment was on time, very curtious, and cleaned up well after the job. As an added bonus I was given the option after one year to have the total of monthly payments go towards a buy out of the system with no interest. I am getting ready to complete the buy out and this has been a blessing to be able to use this as a way to save towards this final payment.

Excellent service. From John's estimate to Leo's installation, this crew knows exactly what they're doing. System was professionally installed in less than 2 hours and all of my questions were answered. Highly recommend.

All of my dealings with this company have been great. The staff are always helpful and polite. Arranging the service was quick and efficient and the service technician arrived promptly and explained exactly what he was doing. Very happy with the service provided. The Joe -the owner wanted me to be 100% satisified with the job and used copper plumbing along with soldered connections as I requested. Joe's price was half that of another competitor who also gave me an estimate. Joe and his installer did a great job with minimal disturbance to my water system. Art came to our home at short notice. He was very flexible to accommodate our schedule and came to visit us late evening. He explained how everything works and provided very good suggestions without any sales pressure. He tested water and recommended right system. The owner came to the home and reviewed the old unit. and recommended a new one We scheduled installation of a new unit .The company called on the day of delivery the installer would be an hour late.The installation went very smoothly and left the area very clean.The installer was very professional,

The owner came out to give free estimate. Very nice and explained everything. They installed it a week later. They were neat and prompt. And even when I had trouble 5 months later they came out free of charged and fixed it. I would use them again for sure.

I contacted Passaic Bergen Water Softening regarding the installation of a water softener. From the first interaction, they were very professional and informative, without pressuring me in any way to make a purchase. They objectively explained the various choices I had in terms of equipment and payment plans, allowing me to make an informed decision to meet my family's needs. I decided to go with the whole-house combination water softener and water filter. The device was installed promptly and professionally, as promised. We have been enjoying better tasting water and softer hair and skin ever since. PBWS offers excellent customer care, professional installation and reasonable prices. The owner even paid a visit post-installation just to walk me through the various features of the equipment and answer any questions I had.

They were extremely professional in setting up the appointment and the person showed up on time. The person messed up something. He told me that my soft water loop was treating only the hot water and hence it was treating only half the total amount of water. He also said that to put a new pipe from the nearest cold water line to the softener would be $150. I had a person from another company come in and give me an estimate too. He said the whole house was treated. After checking the plumbing and understanding the flow, it was indeed true. The water going into the hot water heater was treated but the cold water line was also treated. I guess the person from Passaic completely missed this. He was a nice chap and quite professional and cordial but I wouldn't expect a person in his profession to miss out something like this. The pipes were right in front of him. As a result, his calculations for a water softener were off. I was also surprised when he gave me an estimate of $1250 because I did have the entire soft water loop including the bypass valve and brine tank drain...they just had to cut it to the appropriate height and solder the pipe for their water softener's height. He said that they have to come in and all that costs money....so I wasn't completely sold on the estimate. But I will give him credit for his service. He seemed like a nice chap. He said they'll put in the Fleck 5600 after I asked him about it. He did say Clack valves are the best but I was okay with Fleck. They cover 3 years labor which is nice but considering a Fleck 5600 that is rated for 30K grains is around $450 most places online, I thought $800 for their installation and labor coverage was high. Not that any other company has given me a better quote, it is just my opinion. One final thing for people to consider is this simple analysis I went through to do my homework. a. Count number of people in house: e.g., 5 b. Average consumption per person: e.g., 60G c. Hardness of your water: 17 grains d. Total amount of hardness to remove per day = 5*60*17=5100 grains/day If you want your resin tank to regenerate every 7-8 days (recommended), you will need a capacity of 35700 grains. So, if you buy a softener rated at 35000 grains, it will work at it's maximum capacity and will require about 12-14 lbs of salt for a 1 cuft of resin tank. Instead if you buy a 45000 grains softener (just $40-50 more), the resin tank is typically 1.25-1.5 cuft and will only use 8-9 lbs of salt. So, in the long run, you'll save on salt cost! Assuming you save 4 lbs*52=204 lbs of salt a year, it will be better for the environment and your operating cost. No provider explained this to me explicitly but assimilating content from different forums helped me reach this analysis. So, look at the size of resin tank and not just the rated grain capacity. So, I finally bought a Fleck 5600 rated at 40K grains online for $500 and I'm planning to call a plumber who said it will take him 1-2 hours to hook up with my existing setup. I'll post a follow-up once the work is completed.

One of the owners came to my house and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There was no charge for this visit and tested my water for free. I love the fact that the owners come out to meet with their clients. He answered all my questions and took his time. Passiac Bergen Water has to be the most friendly company I have ever come in contact with. I have searched many water companies around the area and PB water seems to be the most reasonable with prices. I have had water problems for many years including hard water and high iron in my home and have gone through a few water softeners. After PB installed my unit, I can finally take an amazing shower and not have to worry about what I'm showering in!! The installer was very nice and seemed to be very experienced along with the rest of the staff. He explained everything I needed to know about the system and made sure I knew everything that was needed before he left. I'm very pleased with there customer service. I would absolutely recommend PB water. You can say I'm one happy customer and will continue to be for the years to come!!

We have a water softener installed by Passaic Bergen probably 5 years ago and everything is running wonderfully, soft skin, fluffy towels and nice hair what’s not to love about soft water. Recently out of nowhere my water started smelling like gasoline, we live in West Milford and have a well. So it turns out our neighbor had a leaky oil tank in the ground and it must of gotten into our well water. You can imagine my concern with an infant at home. We got a water test and Joe the owner suggested a carbon filtration system to take out oils in our water. I can’t explain how grateful I am for Passaic Bergen Water Softening for coming to the rescues. It’s an amazing feeling being able to wash my baby in water I know is uncontaminated. Overall my husband and I are extremely pleased with the Passaic Bergen team and have referred them many times.

The water hardness level in my neighborhood was high which made us decide to install a WS. After checking a few companies in Angies list, I called in PB Water Softening company to provide an estimate. Joe came over to conduct the water test was very courted and respectful. He provided the estimate which was similar to what other companies were offering. However, I decided to go with PBWS Company due to the reviews in AL. Right from the first call till completion of installation, the experience was good. Joe also offered some discounts with the installation was quite professional, they completed the work in less than 2 hours. We have started to see a huge difference in the water quality.
