Verizon suggested a free upgreade to fiber optics. They showed up for the appointment as scheduled and were professional. Needed to spend some time inside the basement and were courteous. Had previously had some phone outages due to cut wires, but no problems since this upgrade.
Description of Work: Upgraded to fiber optics.

They hooked it up and it didn't work. I called Vonage and it was bad customer service. She didn't sound like she know what she was talking about. This lady said it sounded like it was the firewall. I disabled our security system, but I was not going to mess with my computer firewall so we decided to switch back. For the past week I've been going back and forth between Vonage and Verizon. Vonage will not release the phone number to Verizon and the only phone service that we have is our cell phone, which we only like to use in emergency. If it takes 2 days to transfer the phone, it should take 2 days to transfer back. I have no choice but to use Verizon, but I would rather use another service.
Description of Work: They used to be our phone service and we are trying to switch back, but their answering software is horrendous. It takes a long time and doesn't work.

THE VERIZON SERVICE PEOPLE WERE FRIENDLY IN A MEMORIZED WAY. THEY PROVIDED ONLY STOCK AND USELESS ANSWERS TO OUR QUESTIONS. REGARDLESS OF OUR PLEADING, THEY WERE VERY INFLEXIBLE. WE FINALLY REPORTED THEM TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES.
Description of Work: THERE WAS NO WORK PERFORMED. HOME PHONE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. CALL TO REPAIR SERVICE WAS NOT SATISFACTORY. IT TOOK MORE THAN TEN DAYS TO GET THE JOB DONE AND HAVE THE PHONE REPAIRED.
