I have been using them for about three years and I have been happy with their service. They ten to be a little more expensive, but their service is good. If I ever have an issue they come out right away.

I received a quote on a new heater, AC unit, inducers for the second floor and a in line surge protector. When time came for the install, i was told the inducers to push air to the second floor could not be installed due to.my beams in the ceiling. i tried to call the sales rep to find out why he said they could be done but he would not return my call. So i had the work completed since i needed heat and all the equipment was here. The rep called me a few days later and said he would not adjust the price for not installing the inducers since he said he was "Throwing in the inducers on the original price". I then asked for the warranty on the inline surge protector. My concern was that these units have a low tolerance for surges and i was looking to protect my investment on a $600 blower. The $40 piece cost me $140 to install and not until i kept pushing for the actual warranty did i find out that the warranty only covers the $40.00 surge protector and not anything that should happen to my heater if it goes. I was clear on my concerns and this was not what we agreed upon. I have been with Meenan for a year now getting oil and i like the customer service and the team that deals with chimney, however do not deal with the sales team when getting a new heater and AC unit. They do not know what they are talking about and make promises that they do not keep.

I agree with most of the other reviewers about Meenan Oil. I had them as a supplier last year and when it came time to renew, they quoted me a high price so I started calling around. When I found lower prices and told them I was not going to renew they kept coming back with lower rates. I went with them again on a ceiling price program where you are guaranteed a certain rate and they will charge lower if the oil prices go down. Well oil has tanked in the last 6 months to around $50 a barrel so prices have fallen drastically. I had a delivery in December and was billed at $2.64 per gallon. Oil prices continued to fall. Now I had a delivery in February and Meenan bills me at $3.29, a 65 cent increase over last delivery. I call around to other oil companies in the area and find their prices are around $2.79 to $2.84. I called Meenan and asked for an explanation. Pam gets on the phone and tries to justify why the prices have gone up by saying they had to buy oil at a higher price. What??? She rattles off some nonsense about how prices have increased and I am paying a premium for being on the ceiling plan. So why are everyone else's prices so much lower? After listening to her babble for a few minutes, I couldn't take it and told her I was going to write them up on Angie's List, Yelp, etc. She says they have the highest ratings in the area but reading the reviews proves otherwise. I am done with Meenan as an oil supplier. Do not use them and tell your neighbors!

I received oil in April. Then I was in the process of selling my house, and they came back in July to fill up again. This usually does not happen in the summer. I was paid up, then they added the yearly contract to my bill. When I called to inform them of the settlement date, I still owed them money. I figured that I would have escrow that I could get back. No. They say that even though its only been two months on the new contract, I have to pay the full $400 for the year! I would not tell the buyers to call Meenan!

Am a one year Meenan heating oil customer. I used them only for the heating oil contract. Not to service my burner. After receiving this year's quote per gallon for the 2014-2015 year I checked Angie's list and found 3 other like companies, all who were rated "A" and who quoted a $.30 to $.60 a gallon difference. Before signing a contract with another company I wanted to alert Meenan I wouldn't be coming back. My 4 days worth of attempts were to no avail. and was told everyone was helping other customers. Today I was irate awaiting a return call and spoke with Nancy at the Service Center twice. On the second attempt I asked for a manager only to find even the manager wasn't available. I didn't want to sign up with another company until I could confirm that Meenan knew I wouldn't be coming back. Guess my frustration got through as customer service called back within the hour and matched the lowest competitive price. This experience was as bad as buying a car. I shouldn't have but did sign another contract with Meenan. While their rating is only a "B", Meenan was responsive during that hellish winter we had last year and I liked that I could pay on line with my credit card. Plus, I didn't want to use a new company believing next year will be worse that last. However, I've documented this year's efforts for the next heating season to remind me of the frustration I had trying to cancel this year's contract and a reminder to use Angie's List again.

From the time we first spoke to Meenan's sales rep Ron Anderson, through the installation of the boiler, we were pleased with all aspects of this project. Meenan pulled all necessary permits and prior to the installation, they did a complete chimney inspection. The day of the installation, the boiler was dropped off and Kyle and David, the installers arrived about the same time. From start to finish, removing the old boiler and installing the new boiler, including all plumbing, electrical, oil lines, disposal of old boiler, and the clean up took approximately 8 hours. We were especially pleased with the lead installer, Kyle, and his professionalism. It was very obvious that he took pride in his work.

I have been with them for at least twenty years. The kind of heater that I have, they did a good job, I don't have the time to shop around for pricing, whatever. I get good service, a couple years ago someone from them had to come out during Super Bowl because something was wrong in my heater and I called them, they had to come out during the Super Bowl. I have had really good experience with them. I have them on an annual contract. It covers everything in my heating closet, it doesn't cover plumbing or whatever, I haven't really had a problem with that stuff. When I've called they have always given me a window and they have always shown up.

I regret doing business with this company and warn everyone I know to stay away from Meenan Oil. They have broken every promise, continue to charge way above market price for their home heating oil, they deliver oil without warning when specifically asked not to, (and told it would not be delivered) charge outrageous late charges and make regular collection calls. Run- don't walk- from this company. Details: We are now on a plan that delivers oil at market price, since we do not use a great deal of oil compared to their other customers. Instead of market price, I am charged an outrageous price that is at the tippy-top of the price ceiling, delivered without warning, when my account was supposed to be frozen and blocked for delivery. I have been promised on numerous occasions that I would not receive a delivery! In the meantime the late charges keep piling up! They can not be trusted. I will find a new company to do business with. Another family member (who I recommended several years ago) has had the same experience and is also seeking a new vendor.

The technician arrived promptly, asked specific questons in order to fully assess where the issue may be. He was polite, efficient, remembered the house from the yearly servicing, and even followed up to ensure his repair was working. the few pennies more meenan may cost when compared to other companies "initial, trial, one time, bonanza" offers is WELL worth it.
