Merit Air Duct Cleaning

I contacted Merit Air Duct Cleaning about cleaning our air ducts and vents. Thomas came to our house on April 20th and quoted a price of almost $1,300 to clean all of the ducts and vents as well as the dryer vents. My wife and I knew that this price quote was way too high and Thomas said that he could just clean our dryer vents for $289. We agreed and he proceeded to "clean" the dryer vents. My wife and I noticed a few days later that it was still taking a long time to dry our clothes so we decided to contact a highly recommended and BBB accredited company to come inspect and clean our ducts and vents. They quoted us a price of $650 for our ENTIRE house including the dryer ducts. We told them that another company had just cleaned the dryer ducts and they informed us that there was very little air flow and that's why it was still taking a long time for our dryer to dry our clothes. They cleaned the dryer ducts properly and a TREMENDOUS amount of lint was blown out of the dryer duct (see picture). It was at that point that we were certain that Thomas had not done the work properly and that we paid $289 for nothing. My wife tried multiple times to contact Merit Air Duct Cleaning but they were totally unresponsive. In fact, the phone number on the receipt that we were given doesn't even match the phone number that is listed on Google. We ended up filing a lawsuit in small claims court against Merit Air Duct Cleaning and they didn't even show up for the hearing. Stay FAR away from this company!!!
