Description of Work: I am very happy with the Roofing and insulation. When i called to get an estimate I told them i was only available on Sunday. The owner said that was his day off but he would come himself if that was good for me. The Owner himself showed up. He was very polite and very professional. He told me that since my roof had two layers already that he would have to rip it off and put a new layer. I asked him if it would be cheaper to just put a third layer on. He told me that was against building code and that he would only do it the right way. He was very helpful in picking out a good style and color. He told me that i wanted to get a roof that would match the siding. He gave me his opinion on which one would look the best. While he was there he also took the time to look at my attic. He told me that it was under insulated. He gave me a package deal that if i insulated the attic that he would have his guys check out the walls and do them for no additional cost. The company showed up with a crew of 8 men. They ripped off the roof and replaced it all in one day. I was very impressed because last year my sister had her roof done and it took one week. They set up tarps everywhere so debris would not fall on my property. The company also had their own dumptrucks so they did not need to use dumpsters which i would not of wanted on my lawn or in my driveway. The roof came out beautiful and it matches the house wonderful. I am happy that he suggested that color to me because the one i would of chose would not have matched as well. The property was immaculate before they left. The same week they came to do my insulation. They insulated the attic with this blown in insulation called cellulose. They also checked out the walls and sure enough they were virtually empty. Since the house has been insulated I feel so much warmer and the noise from the street has been reduced. I am able to keep the thermostat ten degrees less and dont need to put it up as much. I look forward to saving money on my bills as well. This company was very polite and professional throughout this process. Each crew had a foreman on it who was terrific answering any question for me, especially explaining about the cellulose which i did not know much about. I also called the company to ask a few questions i had about the insulation. the owner was available and more than happy to talk to me. American also gave me a guarantee on both the roofing and insulation which i am happy about. I plan to use them in the future if i ever need to and highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Astonishingly unprofessional. My wife made an appointment for 9/17/2011 to get an estimate. Nobody showed, nobody called. I called 2 days later and spoke to the person in charge. We made another appointment for this past Saturday, 9/24/2011. He said he would come early because he had to go away for a family event. Again no show. When I called the office, I was told that he was surely on his way. I pressed for information about when he would arrive and was told someone would call back. The call back was from the mother of "the person in charge". She said he had overslept, and asked if I would like to make another appointment. Total BOZOs.
