Excellent all around experience. I called Telly Friday morning inquiring about some work I needed to have done, was able to meet with him 2 hours after the call and the work was complete by Sunday at 3pm. The turn around time was incredible. Telly and his team are true professionals, they do quality work and take customer service and satisfaction very seriously. I can't recommend them enough, a fantastic group to work with!

They were quick to respond back to me and make an appointment. Telly is very knowledgeable in all aspects of remodeling. He gave us many wonderful ideas. HE and his crew are very well mannered. The job came out great and he worked within our budget. We are very happy with big dog construction and look forward to doing more work with them. I highly recommend them.

called on 7/29/2015 and made an appointment to get estimate for remodel room in basement and bathroom he said he would see me on monday 8/3/2015 at 2pm never showed up so i called him at 3pm at first he had no recollection of our appointment. after a minute me telling him who i was again he said o ya i remember you.We're talking about a job between 10.000or20.000k would hire someone like that.!!!

Telly, the owner of Big-Dog Construction, is friendly, accommodating and especially easy to work with. He is also a 'no-nonsense' professional, who maintains very high standards and demonstrates an excellent work ethic. Telly respects your home; making sure that entrance and work areas are covered with clean, cloth tarps prior to beginning each day's work. Also, at the end of the day, his men clean up their work areas back to their original condition. We used 'Big Dog' to prepare and paint several areas of our home that had not been painted for many years and therefore required a lot of preparation. With Telly's help, we chose a nice 3-color scheme that he coordinated perfectly; medium taupe for the walls; cream-white semi-gloss for the base and crown molding; and finally, a linen white for the ceiling. All work was performed to his usual high standards and we couldn't have been more pleased with the results. In addition, Telly was also kind enough to advise us on several other unrelated matters regarding our home. Based on our experience with Big-Dog Construction, we give them our highest recommendation and we definitely plan on using them in the future.

Telly and the Big Dog crew were professional, punctual and very competent workers. Telly is honest, quality-minded and very easy to work with. He offered very good suggestions, was mindful of time and budget, and was accommodating. E.g. when my work schedule didn't allow me to visit Home Depot to select items, Telly made multiple trips himself at no cost to me (even as I added new things to the to-do list as the week progressed). Lastly, the daily cost rate worked out very well -- I ended up getting more things done in less time and money than was originally estimated!

As a woman is sometimes hard to find a contractor who will not take advantage of how little you know about construction . I had a few contractors in to give me estimates and I have to say that after my first conversation with Telly , I felt at ease. I had no idea as to what I was doing and Telly was kind enough to take me shopping at the Home Depot to pick out everything from flooring to paint - at no additional charge, I might add. Some of the other contractors that I also met with would only allow me to use "their " guys for tiles, tubes , fixtures etc. This would have added thousand more to my price. I felt so comfortable that I gave them a key to our house , we stayed in a hotel and had a great vacation !! When I returned , I was completely blown away with how beautiful everything looked - everything I asked for, I got and more . He took the time to clean up everything - it was sparkling And Telly asked for no money from me until the job was complete and I was happy Everyone always takes the time to complain about things nowadays . Well , I wanted to take the time to tell you how pleased I was with everything about Big Dog Construction . I plan on doing additional re-modeling next year and I plan on contacting Big Dog Construction only

We found Big Dog Construction through Angie's List (they are top-rated). I spoke with previous clients, and their praise sold us. Now Big Dog Construction is Top Dog in our estimation! The owner, Telly Kostidakis, is a dream General Contractor. He is a consummate professional: punctual, polite, honest, and always in constant communication. (He is also great to work with, and was there on-site virtually every day throughout.) Our project, which ran from January to June, was a totally custom renovation of a two-bedroom, 1.5-bath condo unit in a concrete-and-steel building. (Extremely difficult because there is no wood at all. Many contractors turned the job down.) This required creative solutions every step of the way. To run lighting, wires and pipes, Big Dog created ceiling soffits and hollowed-out baseboards. We purchased designer European-sized kitchen cabinets years ago from a resale store, without knowing the kitchen dimensions. They figured out how to arrange the pieces for maximum utility, and created matching filler pieces to fit. In the full bathroom we wanted two in-wall, pull-out cat litter boxes; they figured out how to do it and created a masterpiece in marble. Every day there were design and construction challenges; the Big Dog Construction team found solutions and beautifully crafted everything. Telly was firm (but fair) with his suppliers to make sure all our wishes were realized. This is our first experience with a renovation -- and after hearing about friends' nightmare experiences, we are truly lucky to have found Telly and his Big Dog crew.

No job was done, but I hope to hire Big Dog for another job later.

Personable, neat, meticulous about making sure things were level, checking remaining material to insure sufficient resources for us to complete. On time.

I was in a rush to get this basement converted to a room for my daughter. Last minute. I called Telly, explained my rush, he came over the next day, gave me a quote, was able to get two guys for that Saturday to meet my deadline. The two workers came on time, covered my floor and rug, put plastic on my walls, sprayed every nook and cranny of the ceiling black (it looks fantastic) and then painted the floor. Telly even suggested some gold sparkles on the floor to make it look a little nicer! They finished, cleaned up, and left the place beautiful. I would highly recommend them and will call them for my next painting job. I felt safe leaving them in the house as I had to go to work for a few hours as well. I am not happy. It didn’t move forward to what was promised. They didn’t follow through, maybe not Kelly but the designer. They didn’t follow through as quickly as we anticipated and the last conversation I had, I informed him that we wanted to move forward pretty quickly and I think it was a week or two later the designer contacted us. By the time she got back, the project had moved to a different direction. The initial impression was fine, I would even consider working with the contractor, not the designer because I was put in delay in lack of responses from the designer but when we met, they were fine but the follow through wasn’t what was expected. The responsiveness wasn’t great. We asked for modifications, we took our time to bend over but by the time they sent the modifications we just moved on. The price was fine. She showed up late for the appointment.

The service provider responded to my purchase within the two day time frame, but due to the scheduling times I decided to cancel the deal.

I can't say enough good things about Telly, Mario and Marco.From the beginning Telly was always available .The work was excellent.From start to finish the guys would be on time and upon completion of the days work clean up neat as a pin. Thet are a hard working group and do impeccable work. Don't bother looking for other contractors these are the people you want in your home. I wouldn't hesitate to have them back again for any job.

Telly's team of worker's, Mario, Marco and Ricky including Telly arrived. We reviewed the work to be performed. While painting, I decided I wanted additional work done; bath fixtures for 3 bathrooms, switching laundry room door to swing out and all of the trim was bonded and repaired and painted, interior railings were re-installed for safety, shaved the interior doors which were rubbing against new carpet and many other items etc. Telly readily accomodated my requests and provided suggestions that were superior and I readily agreed. I should mention that I had also contacted a provided from "another" service similar to Angie's list to come and perform another specific task related to the laundry room. That individual arrived while the workers from Big Dog Construction were hard at work. This provider came in and complained about the task. I told him I changed my mind (since he was complaining) Telly, observed this interaction and after the provider left, Telly made a suggestion which was superior, obtained the special product and returned days later to have his workers complete the installation. At the last minute I asked them to install a large curtain rod in the living room. No problem. This clearly is my go to contractor of choice. I realize they typically perform full renovations and similar work, but this job was not too small for Big Dog Construction. Telly didn't ask for a deposit which was unusual and I really wanted to give a deposit, he said no, not until the work is done. Amazing. I've been in my home about a month now and I'm so happy and grateful for finding Telly and his staff and had the work performed when I did. I highly recommend Big Dog Construction!

It was a pleasure meeting Telly. He was completely up front and honest about what the job would entail and how much it would cost. He promised to save us money wherever he could and he delivered on that promise. I'm not used to having pleasant experiences with contractors. Telly is truly an exception. I feel like I not only gained a professional I can rely on in the future, I also gained a friend. As I'm sure many of you can relate, the jobs around the house just got to be too numerous for me to keep up with. Telly and his crew did an excellent job and have made me feel good about my home again. Now, our house is the eye candy of the neighborhood instead of the eye sore. His crew were here on time everyday. They were always courteous, professional, and beyond that...personable. They made it their goal to make sure we were pleased with the work. One guy asked me several times if my wife was pleased with what she saw. My wife, who has very high standards and expectations, IS very pleased with what she saw. If you have a job(s) around the house and need to hire a contractor, you cannot go wrong when you contact Telly.

Let me start off by saying that Telly is a gentleman. He is very professional, honest , and an expert at what he does. His work cannot be matched by anybody. His crew showed up on time and ready to work everyday, they were a pleasure to deal with. After they finished everyday they cleaned up and left the house spotless. The job was suppose to take 2 weeks but telly managed to get the job done in less time. The quality of the work was never compromised. Telly would consult me for decision making when needed. Great job all around.

So one morning I went downstairs to make a cup of coffee and in the kitchen i saw a leak dripping down though the ceiling. After cutting drywall out and finding the source of the leak, it was necessary for me to take down the walls of my master bathroom in order to gain access to the hallway bathroom plumbing so on short notice, we needed a contractor to fix our master bathroom. I looked on angies list and found Telly's company listed as number one. Telly answered his phone immediately and spoke to me for a solid 15 minutes about my project and concerns. That day I called 6 other contractors and only got in touch with one who told me my small master bath 5x9 foot would be an 8000$ project just in labor alone without walking in my door. Telly came to our house within 36 hours and spent an hour and a half with us discussing our two full bathrooms and options we had. Telly was able to accommodate on short notice, his crew arrived 15 minutes early every day and was neat, clean, with drop clothes and cardboard laid over our recently refinished hardwood floors. Telly also provided us with insight as to how to minimize expenses when purchasing materials and gave many style tips along the way, including a step in the shower. The only piece of the bathroom we had to contract out was the shower door at Shore Glass of West Long Branch which we were very happy with as well. We will have Telly back at our house again for our next project. Highly recommend. Felt safe and secure with his crew working here. A+

He completed the work in about a week, because we had a big list. He was her for about 8 hours each day. I liked his attitude, it was always positive and he was totally honest with everything that we dealt with. He was creative with his material to save us money.

he made 1 visit so far to the house but is going to come again to change the design & sit down with me. he took his time the 1st visit. made me very comfortable with his whole professional demeanor. he is very willing to tolerate my search for "the look" i need to find, he is very helpful. nice man. if he comes up with a design i am 100% comfortable with, i would absolutely let him do the job.

They were amazing ! The more we took down the more issues we found. Telly worked with us adjusting the estimate. He was present during entire renovation from start to finish which in total took only about a week or so . We had major fix and replace / tear down issues from Sandy . He is a bit of a perfectionist so if you're wanting to cut corners , he's not your guy . He will only do it right! He is personable, professional and focused. Best of all he is all about quality and someone you can depend on . Also, he is HONEST!! He is not the only contractor I have dealt with . I am on top of my game and I can say that with 100% confidence. I do recommend him to anyone that asks. Loved the work !

Excellent experiece. Very skillful, creative, neat and responsive to our needs. Very fair pricing, and extremely honest person to deal with. We highly recommend Big Dog and definitely will use them again.

The only reson we did not use him was that we wanted a special type of spray foam insulation that he could not provide, other wise he was very compasionate, helpful, & price was very reasonable. I was so impressed with him, that I recommended him to my son & daughter-in-law to use for a large basement remodel.
