Gill's Landscaping Inc

We did multiple jobs installing a new hardscape and garden in my front year, as well as hardscapes around my home. They did amazing work, were prompt, professional and the work was impeccable. We did have some plants that died, and they are coming back to replace them at no extra charge!

Ed from Gill's is amazing, from design to execution, the team was wonderful. The work performed was amazing, we had a garden put in the front and then had them come back to hardscape and add retaining walls to the backyard. We are having them back to do sprinklers and more work in the back.

Ed Swietanski was amazing, he came out to work with us on tackling a front yard that was is dire need of of work. We live in a very wooded area and our attempts at landscaping it were a failure, year after year. He worked on a design, reworked it to fit our vision of a natural progression onto the woods. He developed a graphical plan, including plants that would grown well in our environment. He was responsive and professional in all areas. When it came time to do the work, the team was always prompt, professional and did an amazing job. We have decided to go with Gill and team for a few more projects to tackle the other areas of our home.

So far what we have seen the snow removal is a C. They wait for the snow to accumulate before coming out. They are sloppy and missing places with the landscaping. I would rate them a B on that.

Used Gills to shut off the sprinkler system and blow the water out of the system in the fall. We went to turn the system on the following spring and discovered Gills worker broke the handle off the main water valve, covered it up, and left the other valves open all winter. We called and left 4 messages over a series of 2 weeks before they responded and sent a worker out. Worker was hostile and confrontational, screaming at my wife, who was home alone with the children. He got in her face, denied any wrongdoing because it was he who closed the system, and boasted that we would have to pay to get it fixed. He had to be asked to leave several times, and only left after some additional berating of my wife. Multiple messages were left with owner, who, after finally calling back, claimed we couldn’t prove they broke the system, and refused any repairs. Wife pointed out that she was in fear of the worker and called company while worker was still here to report his behavior. Owner claimed it was a he said/she said situation and shifted the blame to the sprinkler system claiming it “has a history of problems” going back to the previous home owner. When asked for proof of these problems, he was unable to provide it. Beware of this company.

I was called and informed of the cost of a service call and told I would be contacted the following week to set the appointment. I did not hear from them again. I did cal last week and left a message reminding them that we still wanted to set up an appointment. My call was not returned. I will not waste any more time with this company.

This is my second large project with Gill's and we couldn't be happier with the results. As with our first project, Ed came out to the house (about 6 months ago) and presented us with his vision for our project. We were blown away with his ideas. We thought we would be able to start the project right away, but decided to hold off while we saved up for it. Ed was very accomodating to us and Gill's waited until we were ready to start the project. We started the project about 2 weeks ago and began with the hardscaping. Gill's employees were at my house bright and early every morning and diligently worked until the project was done. Our project manager this time was Sean, and kept us informed with updates along the way. Mr. Gill also stopped by to introduce himself and thank us for his business. The project was completed last week while my husband and I were away in Colorado, and Ed sent us pictures via email to keep us apprised of how things were going and what the final product looked like. We are totally amazed. Our home looks like a different home! As with our past experience, we are beyond thrilled with the service we received from Gill's Landscaping. As a result of the superior service that we received from Gill's, we are switching to them for all of our landscaping services (fertilization program, cutting, sprinkler service). They are very competitive in pricing compared to our previous landscaping company and very accomodating to our needs! Gill's always goes above and beyond and their superior customer service is what sets them apart from their competitors! We can't wait to work with them on phase 3 of our landscaping overhaul!

Gill's came out and did the aeration and seeding first, in order to get it done in time for the seed to establish itself before winter. A few days later, Gill's crew arrived and spent the entire day working on the landscaping project. They removed all the old shrubbery, cut new bed edges, planted the new shrubs which included azeleas, small boxwoods, a southern magnolia,photinia, and ornamental grasses. They also placed stepping stones through one bed leading to my pool filter. A week after they had completed the landscaping, I had a concrete patio poured in the back yard. Gill's came back the day after the patio was done and spread new topsoil and seed around the edge of the new patio and along the path the concrete crew had used across the back yard. Their personnel were outstanding and responsive to my every request.

I contacted Gill's online requesting a quote and Ed contacted me right away. He came out to see what needed done and then a few days later sat down with us to go over his proposal. The plan blew us away. It was everything we asked for and more. The price quoted was pretty high but I thought it was reasonable for what we were asking for. We scheduled everything a few weeks out. Gill's accomodated my request to modify the payment schedule so that I could use my credit card and rack up as many points as possible. Gill's Team, which included John who managed the team, showed up on time everyday and worked very hard. I was amazed to see the progress that they made in one week. I almost didn't recognize the lot we came home to everyday. The transformation totally exceeded our expectations and was absolutely worth the price tag. We had a couple snafu's with the existing sprinkler system during the weeks after the project and Gill's came out and made adjustments (even though it wasn't their fault and they did not charge us anything additional). Ed, John and the rest of the team at Gill's were a wonderful pleasure to work with. We plan on making Gill's our primary landscaper and we will use them for landscaping and hardscaping the front of our home as well (after we do some repairs on the house). We can't wait to work with them again!

Gill's came to give us an estimate and quickly met with us with a plan. They were very open to the changes that we made and worked with us to stay inside of our budget. All of the workers were extremely friendly and professional. They kept us apprised of all aspects and finished the entire project in 2 and a half weeks. The owner even knocked on my door and introduced himself. He thanked us for the business. I would highly recommend Gill's Landscaping, Inc. Our patio is beautiful and we will enjoy it for many years to come.
