The Neighborhood Handyman

I submitted a quote request to four handyman services on Angie’s List. The Neighborhood Handyman (TNH) was by far the least frustrating. I provided a detailed list (including measurements) in my quote request. TNH was the only service that was willing/able to provide a quote w/o insisting on a site visit. Steve & John were prompt, personable and professional. Rose was super helpful during the scheduling process. She followed up with a call within a few hours of job completion to find out how things went. TNH’s pricing was $15 more than the other services, but perhaps this is an example of you get what you pay for. I’d definitely hire TNH again!!

The experience was great! They immediately responded via Angie’s List message after hours I spoke to the office the next morning to schedule an appointment. I got an appointment for Friday of this week and they actually came out a day earlier!!! Job was done and looks great. Looking forward to using them for future work! Thank you!

The price for the project was fair and the work was completed on time. The start date got pushed back a couple of times, but once the project started it proceeded within the time limits I was given. Steve, the owner, was on site each day to check the work and help out when needed. I plan to contact them again in the near future when we're ready to add a shower to the existing powder room.

Jerry was punctual, professional, and really helped me close on my home on time! He knew exactly what had to be done and finished ahead of time. He even went back the next day to fix other things he noticed in the house. I would definitely hire again!

Replacement of sheetrock, taping, spackling and painting of ceilings in the kitchen, dining room and family room were skillfully done and the finished product looked excellent. The work with sheetrock created a lot of dust but workers tried to limit dust with plastic sheeting. The end result of the replacement of ceramic tile on the kitchen floor was excellent and the renovation of the master bathroom exceeded my expectation and I was very happy with the contractor's suggestions and the end result.

My project involved taking out and replacing toilet, vanity, vinyl flooring, light fixture and medicine cabinet. Steve and Rose were incredible to work with... Steve answered all my questions and provided some new ideas... Rose was very responsive in scheduling a date... Anthony did much of the work with Steve's oversight... he was very thorough, conscientious and skilled... I'm already making plans for them to come back and remodel my master bathroom. I wholeheartedly recommend the Neighborhood Handyman.

Steve's crew was very professional and kind. Everything turned out well.

They quickly identified the leak and repaired it, adding a new part (estimated to cost $20-$25. They had to remove the bowl and put it back. Then there was a hole in the ceiling below that needed to be patched; the hole was about 3 inches in diameter. The technician was thorough and the work was done well. I rated the pricing a "B" because I was expecting it to be around $200-$250 including the flange part they provided. I also had a $25 coupon from them; without it, the price would have been about $348.

Contractor never did the job. Have not heard from them since November when they did the review.

After numerous surveying others; I finally requested neighborhood handymen to do the job and I'm overly impressed. Definitely, will seek future services.

The crew were talented and professional. Although they were initially scheduled to be at our home for a few days, the plumbing leak required additional days. They rearranged their schedule to accommodate us. Rose did the scheduling and is very friendly and quickly responded to my many questions. Anthony did a fantastic job on the tiling and other work. He always explained what needed to be done. Jimmy did a great on the painting. Z and Anthony quickly resolved our plumbing issues. Steve was always available to provide guidance to the crew and explain the process to us.

Finding a "good" contractor can be a challenge; however, following many poor contractor experiences in the past, finding the Neighborhood Handman in our area was a great sigh of relief. The entire staff is professional, responsive, respectful, helpful, and skilled. Their quality of work exceeded our expectations as they went above and beyond what was asked throughout the project. We are extremely satisfied with the final outcome and will definitely look to use them moving forward!

He was very efficient and was able to quickly remove the old unit and install the new one. Jerry was very punctual, professional, and responsive to my phone calls. I would recommend him and expect to work with him again in the future.

Steve and Rose are a great pair...Rose responded immediately and had an estimate and time needed to complete the work. I was in a bit of a rush since I needed to work done prior to moving into the house- I only had a few days. Steve altered his schedule and showed up on the weekend. I had multiple tasks including painting, installing doors, hauling away junk and assembling a closet system, They were efficient, neat and punctual. All work was completed on time, Great Team...and definitely jack of all trade! You will be impressed.

Came out,thought that the window was going to be repaired then by what was said during phone conversation. That was not the case. I waited for about a week for quote. The one repair was high, I thought based on what needed to be done... waited for response, phone tag occurred. I was then told that they had two new jobs that paid much more then what my job was and I was put to the end of the line! Then attempting to get window repair completed, called every day since Monday 8/21 with no call back. Time to move on!

After 3 days, no response. If you can't at least send or leave a message, then I have little confidence in the services you provide.

I couldn't be happier. Steve and his crew were always on time, were very knowledgeable and left their work area clean. There was a problem getting my new vanity in to the space where the old one was but after removing some dry wall and cutting the studs they got it to fit nicely. It looks great. They had forgotten to do something so I contacted Rose and she said they would be out at 8:30 am the next day . They were done by 9 am. They do what they say they will do and they do it on time.

They were punctual, attentive and polite. This is the third time I have hired them, and I am sure will work with them again in the future!

We are so happy with all the work, pricing and response from Steve, Rose and their team. They are punctual, friendly, honest and reasonably priced. We will for sure use them again and have referred them to several friends and neighbors. The bathroom was the 2nd one they helped us with and they both look beautiful and have no leak issues any longer.

From the beginning I was impressed with this contractor. My phone call was returned very promptly and Rose was very friendly. Supporting local small business owners is a high priority for me, and Neighborhood Handyman is definitely worth your support. The contractor was very efficient, professional, and cleaned up the area when finished. I will definitely use them when I need to replace my back door and any other repairs or projects I need around the house.
