When my husband lowered our attic pull down stairs the left metal arm bent to the point where we were unable to raise the stairs back in place. The stairs were then hanging part way down which created a risky situation as my tall husband twice bumped, bruised and cut his head on the corner of the stairway. We did order the metal arms but had to find someone who was able to replace them. Meanwhile I wrapped bubblewrap around the bottom of the stairs to prevent anymore accidents. We were fortunate that it did not get extremely cold or hot since the atticway was open and we were unale to run the air conditioner or heater. We got in touch with Steve's wife, Rosie. She was very pleasant. When I told her of our predicament, even though Steve was quite busy and also expecting the arrival of their first grandchild the next day, Steve was very kind enough to come out the following day and make the repair.Our door now works smoothly and is much quieter than it was. Thank you Steve for helping us out and congratulations to you and your wife on your new grandchild!

Very prompt response from owner and clear description of what could be done and what could not (I originally wanted a leaky tub faucet fix and moulding repair. (thinking I could bundle and save) Workman showed up exactly on time and was very good and professional. Perfect work! I think the price is higher than some, but this was a small job that most would not be interested in. I must say that pricing is very clear before job was booked, but it is by the hour (with 15 min increments) and not by job. You can save money by purchasing materials yourself which I did. (And they do tell you that to, but there was minor material costs for caulk, etc. (reasonable price).

I called The neighborhood Handyman after one of my neighbors used them and was very pleased. The lady who answered the phone was pleasant, she made an appointment for Steve the owner to come out and look at what I wanted done. Steve was professional and knowledgeable about the projects I wanted to do. In about two days I received the estimate and thought the prices were fair so I called to schedule the work to be done. Steve and his crew came to my house on time and ready to work . They put down drop cloths and were very neat . The workmanship was exactly as I wanted (excellent). I certainly will use them again and will recommend to all my friends.

I hardly ever take the timet o put comments on a site about a company, but with the outstanding customer service that my husband and I received from The Neighborhood Handyman at Home Repair in Mt. Laurel, I did not want them to go unnoticed. My husband and I had so many ideas at first that we were overwhelming ourselves. We had estimates from other companies, but they didn?t seem to take the time or care to hear our vision. Steve from The Neighborhood Handyman put our worries to rest. We met at the end of February and by the end of March our project was completed. We worked closely together to come up with a new plan for our downstairs living room and bathroom. He offered to work out different scenarios and what each scenario would cost. It was important to see the final price and compare what we could afford but also be happy in the end with the final result. Also, with two children, we needed access to get to our laundry room. We went ahead and put our trust in him and are so glad that we picked the right man for the job. Our bathroom turned out beautiful. Our living room is a pleasure to relax in now. I am actually enjoying cleaning it up each night. The crew are very professional. They were all prompt and courteous and cleaned up each day so we could get in the laundry room. Steve helped us pick out the fixtures in the bathroom and had great insight and experience with the best value. The tile floor pattern in our bathroom is awesome. Our living room now has the ceramic tile that looks like a wood floor. It is really a great room. We could not be any happier. We have recommended this company to friends and family and agree with others here on Angie?s List that The Neighborhood Handyman are very reliable, professional and keep your budget in mind. We will not hesitate to use them for our next project.

Replace 4 hard wired smoke detectors [which I have already purchased] = $195. Replace 2 timers [which I have already purchased] = $120. Remove 3 ADT wired pieces of equipment and spackle the holes = $265. Replace 2 light bulbs in cathedral ceiling [12-15 foot] = $45. Estimate of time needed to do the above = 1/2 day or more. Keep in mind he doesn't have to purchase any of the items, I've already done that. And removing the ADT wired electronic eye, key pad, wall box in closet means cutting off the power and snipping the wires. [alarm system is all wireless now, but the company won't remove "my old equipment"] Is it because I'm a woman that the cost was so outrageously high? After getting these prices, I called an electrician who is reviewed by Angie's List and was given a quote of $250 for the entire job. Guess who is gonna get the job.

My wife likes the bathroom. I don't care for the guy's work, he is not professional. He was undependable as far as timeliness, and he left some of the job undone. I don't feel like the guy took us for the price. I'm just not happy about the way he did it, and about how he goes about doing business. We don't get return phone calls, he doesn't show up - like I said, he left the job. Sanding down where he should have sanded, where he did work around the vanity - he just left it. I got no time for that guy.

Returned phone calls in a timely manner. After initial estimate, Steve needed to find this part, as it is no longer commonly used on new homes. After one week, I got a phone call that the part was located, and I was asked if I would like to go ahead with the repair. I sent a deposit in the mail to secure the part, and a tentative repair date was set. 10 days before the set repair date, I came home to find the work already done. The part had come in early, and the weather was cooperating, so he finished the job. I gave a B for price because I was unable to get other estimates and had nothing to compare to. I do know that the ordered part cost approximately half of the bill. Overall very happy with the service.

He did send another person to install the carpet however the other person installed it perfectly and he cleaned up after himself.

Decent job, would consider using again.

He came out to look at the job and then sent another person to actually hang the mirror when I wasn't home. They used a bracket that was meant to hang a picture frame and hung the mirror with a wire. It specifically said on the back of the mirror not to use a wire as it would be too heavy. There were also some pictures on the back that demonstrated how not to hang it. Two days after it was hung the mirror came crashing down.

He is very good and I have used him in the past. He is very responsive and willing to help solve problems. His pricing is good. He is not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. I will continue to use him in the future.
