air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning
+ 0 moreIn compliance with our townhouse association, we need our dryer vents cleaned every 2 years. The technicians (Dan, Richie and Mike) arrived and cleaned our dryer vent from the outside of the house to the inside of the house in the laundry room. They did a very thorough job. In addition, they also did air duct cleaning throughout our house and coil cleaning. This cleaning helps your AC and heating system run cleaner and more efficiently. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was given a lower estimate over the phone for the vent cleaning. However, once the technicians came into the home and counted all our vents (which were 24), the estimate was much higher than we expected. They called the office and did give us a lower price since we had our dryer vents cleaned and were repeat customers. The charge was the original agreed upon $89 for the dryer vent, $295 for the coil and air filter and $299 for the additional vents. With tax the total was $682.66. We were very pleased with the work that was performed.

+ -1 moreFANTASTIC JOB. I was hesitant at first b/c I'm not a big fan of Sears, and I wasn't able to schedule a time frame on the internet, however, customer service called not long after I first scheduled the service on the internet to set up a time. Then they called the day before the appointment to give me a more accurate idea of when the guys were coming within the service window. Customer service was very friendly and professional, and very responsive to all questions. The two guys who showed up were right on time - to the minute, friendly, professional and fast! Less than 45 minutes for the whole house. They didn't push hard to up sell me like I've had so many other carpet cleaners do, and in fact when I indicated I did want an extra service that I hadn't originally scheduled, they were very clear to tell me how much it was and exactly how it would work and help. But the bottom line is this: I've used other large chain carpet cleaners and some local guys, and I've NEVER been as happy with how clean my carpets look than when done by Sears!
Description of Work: Deep cleaned and deoderized carpet five rooms and hall. Neutralized, Deoderized and Cleaned one of the five rooms.

air duct cleaning
+ -1 moreThey were a little misleading, they should have put it out there that you need to clean your air handlers before you clean your air ducts. Which will cost you a lot more money. Think of your air ex-changers in your house as vents too. I did not realize that all these vents were included, when you have never done this before, add those others vents in as well. The man was very nice and professional that came out. However I felt that should have asked some more questions and communicated the extra cost before hand.
Description of Work: They came and cleaned our air ducts and our air handlers.

+ -1 moreIn compliance with our townhouse association, we need our dryer vents cleaned on a regular basis. The technicians arrived on time and cleaned our dryer from the outside of the house to the inside of the house in the laundry room. We were impressed with this because previous technicians cleaned the dryer vents from inside the house to the outside of the house. Sears Air Duct Cleaning technique appeared to be more thorough. In addition, they found that our bird guard was in need of replacement and they showed us (without us having to ask them) how the bird guard had deteriorated due to weather and heat conditions. They ordered the new bird guard, appropriate for the size of our vent, and came back within a week to replace the old bird guard with the new one. We were very pleased with the work that was performed.
Description of Work: The provider cleaned our dryer vent from the outside of the house to the inside. They also replaced a bird guard on the outside dryer vent that was in need of replacement.

+ -1 moresee description of services. It is not easy to not have a working refrigerator in your kitchen
Description of Work: last friday 8/31 4:45 a nice enough guy diagnoses bad compressor for my LG Refrigerator (fyi worst refrigerator ever). The gentleman does everything fine writes up whole new order because i am under warranty and does not charge me anything. He orders part and makes new appointment for this Friday 9/06. This morning at 6:45am they cancel appointment because part has not showed up. They do not offer any reimbursement for your time off or offer any compensation for the fact you refrigerator which is under warranty does not work. I did spend $150 for a used refrigerator.

+ -1 morewish I had asked the serviceman to include some object of mine in the pictures he took of the coil. This would permit me to feel that what I saw in the pictures was actually mine.
Description of Work: Air ducts were cleaned out by vacuuming only one duct to which all seven other ducts are attached. A blower device was placed into the other seven ducts to blow the dust into the vacuum in duct number one. Vendor maintains that he saw mold and showed it to me in one of the vents. He also produced pictures on his phone that he claims was my coil in the attic. The coil was very dusty and had mold according to the service person. I am not certain that what I saw was mold. A UV light was installed in the coil in the attic and in the return. The vendor claims the UV light will eliminate the mold in two to five weeks. Only time will tell.Not all of the foregoing may have been appropriiate, but I am uneasy about it. I wish I had been able to go into the attic to see the mold. My fear was that the pictures I saw were already resident in the camera.The cost of the double UV light was $750. In addition, the coil cleaning cost $200. The initial cost was $99 for the air duct cleaning. I am just uncomfortable with whether or not the service I received was apprpopriate, and that mold actually existed.
