We had another great job done by Millenium Painting. Several years ago they painted the exterior of our home and we just had them back to paint the interior of our home. Malcon the owner is extremely professional. He provided an accurate and reasonable quote, the job was finished earlier than expected, his crew was excellent and very respectful of our home. It was a huge job and they did amazing work. He is an expert with his color advice as well. We are very particular clients and Millenium exceeded our expectations. We definitely recommend them!

***This post is being created after giving the business/contractor multiple chances to correct the issue, the owner has refused and was warned that this post was being created without care because “he has a lot of business and does the jobs he wants” this is a direct quote.*** Do not and I repeat DO NOT use Millennium paint based out of Morristown, NJ for your painting jobs! This is a long post but if you are considering them for an expensive painting job its worth reading. After receiving several quotes from multiple bidders we decided to go with Millennium to paint the exterior of our nearly 4,000 square foot home, although his quote was very similar to others we had it was based on a friends experience from several years ago that we ultimately decided to give him our business. I did think it was weird that there are very few reviews online for this business, I should have gone with my gut then. The owner Malcom came to our home and we walked him through what we wanted, he was nice then and pointed out several areas in which we would need carpentry work mostly due to rotted wood, he left a good impression at first and told us that he would treat our home as if it was his own. He e-mailed us shortly after and provided a quote, based on that quote we negotiated a price to include all carpentry work which he agreed to in writing but first asked to come back to our house to make sure he had everything noted, which we fully respected and appreciated that in hopes of avoiding confusion later. His crew came to our house as scheduled the first week of May to begin the project, Malcolm was not there despite my request to meet with him again to finalize color selection and discuss what will happen and when. On the first day they “power washed” the house, poorly, but did manage to throw our expensive patio furniture all over our yard, I e-mailed Malcolm with no response. He came on the next day and started telling me that nearly all the work we talked about would be “extra”, and tried to show me receipts, I reminded him then that we agreed to an inclusive price and that I did not need to see his receipts as I was clearly not going to reimburse him for material which we agreed would be included… in writing which I showed him again! I walked through everything with him again reminding him of what we talked about and he quickly changed his tune, now he was “recommending” additional carpentry work. I told him then that I did not want anything additional (he was referring to an old shed in the back of my property which I do not care about). Just as all of this is happening his phone rings, he picks up and puts the women on the other end on speaker phone, she sounded much older, probably elderly, and I heard the entire conversation, she called him to tell him that his crew had ruined several things on her property and was asking when he would return to finish some things, he told her very rudely that he has been in business for 20+ years and his crew has never ruined anything… right in front of me, 2 days after I complained about them tossing my patio furniture all over the place. He then told her that he is very busy and hung up on her, it was very rude. This day ended with me telling him to just do what we talked about, and that I did not care about the additional carpentry work, he argued that some of the up charge would actually be easier for him.. I still told him no. I thought that we were on the same page but clearly, we were not. The next day although I was home I was not watching the crew work closely enough and that same day our inground pool with a new liner opened, we went back to look at the pool after everyone left and found HUNDEREDS of nails and screws, everywhere, super close to our pool and it was very windy that day. My husband was out there until it got dark that day picking up nails to prevent them from landing in our pool. This was unacceptable! We have small kids who obviously do not wear shoes around the pool and expensive equipment that could be ruined by their carelessness. Malcolm came the next day and we shared with him how disappointed we were, his apology was not genuine at all, and then he proceeds to ask my husband for more money for the carpentry work… I honestly think he was trying to pin my husband and me against each other, insisting that I added more carpentry which I could not have been more clear about not to do. We told him no and he essentially yelled at us about how we are ripping HIM off. He also tried to charge us for washing his brushes and when we asked for them to put back lights which they took down he told us he would only do that if we paid him more. Suddenly despite agreeing to and again in writing our all inclusive price was the beginning point. I warned him then that I would be sharing my experience and that is when he told me that he has a lot of business and does what he wants. They finished the project just “ok”, the color looks nice but there are many areas which are not fully sanded, we also had our roofer come the very same day they finished to clean our gutters, the roofer told us that they only half pained most of our gutter guards from the top which we couldn’t see unless we were up there. I reached out to Malcolm and asked him to come back to fix this and he refused telling us that he is done with the project and would not do any more carpentry, sanding and painting fully is suddenly also not included. On top of all of that the “carpenters” work they did do did not last at all, door hinges that he said they fixed are broken, doors they said they installed are done improperly, and speakers which were minted perfectly before they came where not put back on correctly and have fallen. We paid him so much money and were completely scammed by this guy.

Malcolm quoted the job and was very personable, knowledgeable and proficient. The team that was assigned to our project was hard working and thorough, especially in the toughest portion of the project - which is the preparation. The stucco repair was done well, the sanding and prep of the wood banding and decorative features was done thoroughly. The team was courteous and professional; every dealing with the company provided us with a sense of trust and honesty. They even went the extra mile and painted the front of a shed we had in the backyard to match the house which was not a part of the original contract but was very obviously needed once the house was repaired and painted to aesthetically bring the project to completion...at no charge. Millennium painting is very busy in and around our area and for good reason. - they provide quality service, expertise and value. Malcolm and his team were a pleasure to work with..we have fallen in love with our house again thanks to the wonderful job they did. We will use them again.
Description of Work: Cleaning preparation pointing up and repair of stucco. Exterior painting, including wood banding, expose eaves, boxboard, decorative trim, deck, concrete porch and wrought iron features. This was a much overdue repair and rpainting of a historic home.
