Had a bait and switch experience from last November (2023), I agreed to go with PSE because the sales rep and included that I would be getting $1K back in rebates to install a new furnace and A/C. Installation went fairly smooth, I even bought the workers lunch because of the length of the job, but they skipped some things and had to come back when inspection failed. After installation, I had several questions about the products that the sales rep did reply to and helped ease my mind, but in hindsight, not sure that's the case (biggest concern: installed one product when quoted on another, but was told they were the exact same with just a different decal). Shortly thereafter the rebate paperwork was submitted and I heard nothing back until I called in January. When I called to ask about the status, I was told that it wasn't going to be $1K, but more like $400 and that it was in process. Again, nothing further until I reach out in March, when I was informed that the rebates had been approved. Again, nothing further until May when I called and a manager, John, actually called me back (first time PES made any contact effort). He said there was a glitch in the system and that he had released my rebates and a check would be on it's way...oh, and that it's not $400, but only $310. Yet again, no check received and nothing further from them until I reached back out at the end of June, the sales rep told me that a manager would be calling me back that day or the next. Guess what, never heard from them, called back again a couple of weeks later and was again told it was being escalated to a manager and provided me with the manager's, John Boyle, email address which I sent an email to. To date, 10 months after the installation, there has been no further contact made by PES, no check, and I'm not sure I can even trust the install job because of all of this and the fact that my initial concerns were so very easily dismissed. Personally, I would never use PES again.

I would give these people zero stars if I could. They have taken our money from the Home Depot Home project loan almost one month ago and still no AC installed or any information on when it will be done. They said they were waiting on the city permit, so I called the town and they said they can't issue the permit because the company didn't pay in full for it, and they tried to reach the company 3 times and no one answered. After that, we called the company and spoke to the owner, John, and he guaranteed to put us on the schedule for tomorrow, with or without permit. We just called the company and the lady who answered he phone said she was looking at the schedule and we were not on it. We tried to reach John 4 times and he doesn't answer the phone. I am reporting them to BBB and Home Depot tomorrow. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!

I needed a last minute emergency service and came across pro energy from random google searches I anxiously decided to try and give them a call and on the other side of the phone was the voice of someone down to earth, understanding of the situation and very kind. Within 3 hours I had emergency service to my home and my issue addressed without breaking the bank - I honestly expected to spend a lot and I didn’t. Thank you John for your great customer service, awesome work and your down to earth attitude. You have a forever customer with me!

Management Combative and Confrontational. After I signed and paid I was treated horribly. 2 month old a/c and furnace unit that failed already, which happens. Every time I call for service they tell me to have a check ready before they will service for different reasons. . Unreal

BUYER BEWARE. Unlike other reviews here, my experience with Pro Energy was frustrating and disappointing to say the least. I chose them among 2 other competitive bidders (as I typically do for any of my home projects) and relied on Angi’s sponsorship and reviews on a number of reliable sites. To my dismay, management did not live up to my expectations in terms of customer service and satisfaction in the overall experience with my AC unit replacement project. To sum up, it ended up being a 2-month delay to finally install a working unit. Their crew/tech failed to ensure that all parts were in the box prior to attempting the install so nothing was accomplished the first time around; upon return, their crew failed to test and ensure the unit was in working order and left my tenant with a defective unit in the midst of high summer (they were aware that a very young infant resides in that home); their crew failed to show up for a confirmed appointment without even the courtesy of a call to cancel or reschedule costing my tenant a day’s lost wages; more delay in returning to replace the faulty unit; all of this costing my tenant and I, significant related out of pocket expenses. I was more than patient and understanding and management chose to simply place blame solely on the supplier. I firmly disagreed with their position as the supplier cannot be blamed for their shortcomings, poor quality of service and unreliability on the part of their crew. I gave management an opportunity to extend a reasonable courtesy (discount off the total cost) under the circumstances but management refused to go above and beyond to maintain the business relationship - one that would have led to future referrals. I paid for the project in full upfront and expected that they would handle the situation differently. It was disappointing that adequate consideration was not given even a thought. I will not be referring this nightmare to anyone I care about.

This review is for Pro Energy Solutions (through Home Depot), who was the coordinator between myself, the supplier of the units, and the installer. They did not perform the installation themselves, which isn’t an issue, but it’s worth noting. I worked with Norman Gibbs, who came out to do the estimate and was the person I coordinated with throughout the process. He was a nice guy, and was fairly knowledgeable. However, the level of professionalism and experience with him decreased significantly after the initial estimate was complete. After that initial estimate (end of May 2021), everything slowed down to a snails pace. It took him 10 days to get a contract over, and I had to remind him twice. I reminded him to send me the info for the NY loan program he suggested we use to finance the install. He sent it to me, and I filled out my portion in about an hour. It took him over 3 weeks to fill out his part, and I had to remind him twice. We then waited 2.5 months or so for the manufacturer to supply the units. This isn’t Norman’s fault (pandemic-related supply chain issues), so no problem there. However, I didn’t receive a single phone call from Norman any of the 4 times that the expected shipping date was bumped back. I would call him each time a week after the date had already passed asking what was going on, and each time he explained to me how sorry he was that he’d forgotten to let me know it was delayed again. I called again well after the expected delivery date in August, asking if the units had been delivered yet, and he said “yes, they’ve actually been here a couple weeks.” Wow, thanks for letting me know… At this point he’s had months to get ready for install, when I find out he still hasn’t gotten a permit from the town. I’d sent him the necessary paperwork back in July, and it had “slipped through the cracks”, and “I’ve never worked with that town before”, and “my permit secretary didn’t show up for work for a couple days”. I’m sorry but they’d had literally months to get a permit. Those reasons don’t hold up. For comparison, I’ve since gotten a similar permit from the town for something else on my house, and it took 3 days. We finally get a permit, and now it’s early September. A week goes by and I haven’t gotten a call or email about scheduling the install. So I call Norman, and again it’s “I’m sorry, it’s been busy, and personal events have been hard, and I lost track.” No surprise, but at this point I’m pulling my hair out trying to just get this thing over with. He says “I’ll talk to the installer today”. I call again a week later, “I haven’t gotten a hold of the installer yet.” For my own sanity, I call the installer to see if they are difficult to get a hold of, and they responded promptly that they were waiting on Norman to set up the install. After I make a series of calls over the next two weeks, we finally get an install date for about two weeks out. The install goes well (end of October), and the installers worked through some really miserable rain to get it wrapped up, and I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. It’s done. Except that Norman still hasn’t processed the loan paperwork. I filled out most of the information months ago, we just needed the install done so it could be finalized. We’ll it’s been over a month, and it still isn’t done. So I’m stressing about this still hanging over my head, the installer still hasn’t gotten paid, and Norman is still going on about “my secretary blah blah blah…” and “personal things going on” and “I’m so sorry this slipped through the cracks again”. So maybe someday this whole thing will be done. Maybe. And I’m sad to say this because Norman really seemed like a nice guy. But he really doesn’t belong in any professional environment. He doesn’t communicate, he doesn’t follow up, he doesn’t do his job until someone reminds him again and again and again. It felt like babysitting. Next time I’ll just work directly with an installer and get a permit myself, and save myself dozens of headaches, and three months of waiting.

The installation was fine, technicians were very polite and professional. the only bad experience was the permit process price. they charged me more than double of the price given by the city. they did not started the process of the permit until I asked them about copy 10 days after the work was done. I started the process and they gave me lame excuses to justify their price: "they have inspectors to check on the work, special people to stamp the special go stamp on the work paper, etc" when they only have to write what it was going to be done.

Description of Work: They replaced a gas boiler which was done in one long day. Happy with the cost which was cheaper then what I paid to another contractor who replaced the other boiler 4 years ago. Since it is wintertime I got only one other price quote from PSE&G which was $1000 more than Pro Energy.
