Quality job. New roof installed in 2 1/2 days, very quickly. Excellent workmanship

I called the office and the receptionist was rude from the beginning of the conversation. I explained that my mother had used Tait in the past twice and she recommended that I call. I have a leak in the living room ceiling. She asked me for my address and stated I live in Lawnside. Her response was "we don't go to Sicklerville". I stated, I don't live any where close to Sicklerville. She said, "well we don't go to Lawnside, we have a small area that we work in". I said, well you have a sign 2 blocks down from my house in Haddonfield so you do work in my area. I continued, so you work in Haddonfield but won't come to my house in Lawnside which is a few blocks away? She then stated that they were booked and weren't taking new clients. I explained to her that it sounded like she was redlining and discriminating because I lived in Lawnside. She then back tracked and wanted to NOW take my address again and "schedule" something. I politely said, no thank you.

The work was performed extremely well by highly trained and experienced roofers. The skylights are above a bathtub, in a hard to reach area, so the workers had to be careful not to damage the tub, walls, tile and other windows during the removal of the old skylights and the installation of the new ones. The work area was left clean and in perfect order after the job was completed. Although I checked "Good" for prices, we did not do a cost comparison when we selected Taitco to perform this job. We have used Taitco for many years and are very happy with the quality of the service we receive. That said, I believe that we paid a very fair price for an excellent job from a company that has consistently provided outstanding service over the years. We will continue to use Tatico in the future.

I had called multiple contractors to get estimates some never returned my call others never showed up.A few that did show up either did not respond afterwards or I did not care for them. Mike who is the foreman for taitco was very punctual and responsive. He always returned my calls or called when he said he would. He did what he said he was going to do and kept his word. In a world where credibility is limited at least by my standards it was a pleasure to deal with Mike. Taitco workers where Professional and did a great job on getting my house back in shape. They where in and out in 3 days and Mike kept in contact all along the process. Thanks to Mike and Taitco for a job well done.

Work done as requested, promptly. desired results achieved. No more leaking.

They are very good and able to work on older and slate roofs but also very expensive.

They're the best of the best. When the man finished the work that we had asked for, he told us that in a couple of years we would need a roof but he didn't say today we needed the roof like the other guys said. We had new additions on our house. It won't leak all the time. It will depend on the rainstorm and which way the rain was blowing. He had a guy come out here. It wasn't him who did the work. He had a worker come out and did it. His worker told us that we're due for a new roof in a couple of years. They charged $600 compared to everybody else who would charge us $10000. They did a great job. They came out and took care of what we wanted taken cared of instead of having a new roof at this point in time. No more leakage and no more problem. They did a great job. They're good guys. They came out and did the job fast only for one day. Their quality is an A+.

Prompt, reliable, did excellent work. Returned at no charge for minor adjustments. Not the cheapest, but it was worth the extra money in primary quality and in keeping their guarantees. We worked with Mike who has consistently stood by his work. Would use them again.

Unfortunately, this is becoming a common occurrence. I had sent an e-mail through their website requesting an estimate. I did not receive any response. I then called and talked with the receptionist and she apologized then said she would investigate and get back to me the same day. Nothing! How can you trust a company that totally ignores you?

I called Taitco in July 2013 to check out the leaks in my 1877 Victorian slate roof home. I have seen their trucks working on many homes like mine over the years. I had 2 other roofers come out to fix these leaks, 2008 and 2010 and was swindled out of $1500.00. The leaks were never fixed and the roofers were recommended by coworkers. I think they were friends of friends. I thought Taitco was the answer to fixing these leaks honestly, professionally, quality workmanship, reliably, once and for all. Their representative, Mike, came out and only looked at the front leak up close, pulled some debris out of the Yankee gutter. He never looked at the other 2 leaks, in the back of the house and 1 on the other side of the house. Told me the estimate would be mailed in 1 week. After a few weeks, I called the office, the receptionist, who was very nice put Mike on the phone and Mike told me they were very busy and it would be an additional 1 1/2 weeks for the estimate to be mailed. Meantime while I am waiting for this estimate that has never yet arrived , after a heavy rain storm in the beginning of Aug 2013, the front leak has flooded my second story bedroom, drenched the bedding on an antique bed and has leaked down between the original 1877 pristine pine flooring that I stripped by hand 20 year ago, down onto the wallpaper in the living room below onto my Karastan oriental rug which was drenched and is now smelling like mildew and it needs professionally cleaned ( $175.00). It is now Aug 18,2013 and Taitco has not saw fit to mail me an estimate to fix the leaks to prevent any further damage to the interior of my home. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are unprofessional. I am so leery to take a chance and go elsewhere to find a roofer qualified to work on a slate roof. This is why I joined Angie's list.: to start looking for honest businesses to do businesses with. Please stay away from this roofing company. They obviously don't care about how much damage your or your home incurs.

I returned from work on Tuesday to find Spencer's card in my front door--I'm assuming this indicated he had looked at the roof. I called the office on Wednesday morning and left a message for Spencer with my cell phone number, so he could call me back at any time. With no response, I called first thing on Thursday morning, and the receptionist said she would pass my message along to Spencer. I spoke to the receptionist again on Friday morning, and she apologized for the lack of follow-through. I asked her to let Spencer know that I'd be moving forward with a different roofer if I didn't hear back from him by midday on Friday. I never heard back from Spencer, and I used a different roofer. I have seen Tate Roofing's work on homes throughout my neighborhood, and they appear to do a good job. However, this is my second experience with poor responsiveness, and I will not seek their services again in the future.

Fine except it took almost a month from the time they came out to look at it to finally getting it fixed. I used them 2years ago for a leak also and they were more responsive then. I don't know if they were too busy with big projects this time.

Overall, Tait was extremely professional. Spencer Tait took the time to understand what we wanted, kept in touch to keep me apprised of progress, bent over backwards to try to get our (very minor) permits through approval when our town's construction officer was out on sick leave for a few months, and worked longer hours and weekends to try to meet a deadline (we were moving into the house). Much of the work took place during the Superstorm Sandy period, when they were swamped with emergency calls, so the fact that Spencer kept in touch with me throughout was particularly admirable. Their on-site lead carpenter, Pete, was just outstanding. His attention to detail was everything we could hope for. The one major issue we had was with the tile subcontractor they used (a well-known tile company in Cherry Hill). I won't speculate as to where the breakdown in communication happened, but issues with the tile subcontractor utlimately led us to have to choose between getting the tile we asked for (which required special ordering -- something I had communicated up front many weeks earlier), and being able to move into our house (only has one bathroom). Utlimately, we begrudgingly picked another tile. We also had multiple issues with the tile installation. To Tait's credit, every time I asked them to come fix something with the tile, they did. But the tile situation caused a lot of drama that I did not expect given Tait's reputation (and the repulation of their tile subcontractor) and the premium I felt like I was paying for excellent service. All that said, we would definitely hire Tait again to do work on our house, unless the work involved tile (I'm too scarred from this incident to trust their subcontractor again).

Tait's representative arrived at the appointed time, inspected the roof and identified the problem as a cracked/defective pipe collar. The pipe collar was replaced and the area cleaned up all within an hour or so. I was very impressed with the service provided to me by Tait Roofing. I would not hesitate to use Tait Roofing in the future.

They were very reliable. They were the most forthcoming about what they cost and the extent of the project was. I liked the way they finished the job. They were clean and it's an excellent roof. They did what they said they were going to do at the price they quoted. They were right on time and finished the job on time.

I would defiantly give them a good review. They are really nice and give you a lot of information. They were very neat and it worked, I haven't had any problems since.

They were really great to talk to, very down to earth and spent time explaining things to me. The followed up with e-mails and phone calls very promptly.

The contractor was friendly and informative, but was dismissive of the repair. He indicated that the whole skylight would need to be replaced and encouraged me to consider replacing the shingles, too, because it would reduce the labor cost for installing the skylight. My roof shingles are nearing the end of their life expectancy. However, he never followed up with the estimate as promised. In the end, I repaired the skylight myself with caulk, and the leak has stopped.

They showed up on time and did good quality work. The carpenter did good work also and I was happy with the end result. The owner, Larry Tait, would stop in and see how the project was going. If I had to call him about something, he was quick to respond. I made a couple of last minute changes and he responded to those requests well, as well.

He was very responsive and professional. I chose to go with another company mainly due to the estimate given being much higher than the company I am going with.

He was delayed by weather but once the snow stopped he promptly provided an estimate. However, his was the highest estimate received so I had the job done by another contractor.

I called Tait for an estimate on replacing my gutters. Mike, from Tait, came out and looked at the existing gutters and told me he thought that they did not need to be replaced at this time. He gave me an estimate to install gutter guards. I decided to hold off on having that work done.

Bit of a slow start due to weather, etc, but once started, the guys were there every day. There was a roofing crew, and the woodworking crew. One of the guys was my contact if I had any questions, and he would update me or check in with me almost daily. They were very professional, but also friendly. The site was cleaned up every day. The roofing crew was careful not to leave the roof exposed, in case of bad weather, as it was much too big to do in one day. If anyone had a question on how to proceed (as in when they found damage worse than expected), they brought me out to show me and check what I wanted done. If they had suggestions (which I wanted) they were not afraid to offer their opinions, which I appreciated. Also, Larry Tait followed up afterwards to make sure I was satisfied with the work that was done.

Excellent service. Nice professional job. Everything done in a timely manner and as quoted.
