Hunter Door

Installation went very smoothly. There was definitely some miscommunication regarding the billing however. The tech said the service would be $569 installed plus a charge for the springs. The springs we had in place, we were told, were the wrong ones. We mentioned that they had installed them several years ago but we had to pay for new ones anyway. We did get a 30 dollar discount on them though. Total bill was over $700 when we expected it to be 569 plus the springs. No mention of the amount of a service charge. Warranty is only for one year. The door works fine and the tech was fine too, just feel we were overcharged.

The sales representative, Max, never showed up for the initial consultation. I called him about half an hour after our scheduled appointment, and he had clearly forgotten that we had an appointment. Max came later that afternoon, and I chalked it up to a misunderstanding. A couple of weeks later, when my husband and I were ready to order the door, we had an appointment with Max at our house between 4:00 and 4:30. We never heard from him until he showed up at about 5:10 with nothing but a glib comment about it being Friday. My husband and I, who both work and both rearranged our schedules to meet with him, were apparently supposed to think that it's reasonable to keep a customer waiting without a word for forty minutes because it's Friday. I told Max to get out and called Hunter the following week to see if they had another sales rep. (We wanted to patronize them because they are a local company but didn't want to deal with Max.) The person who answered said that one of the owners could take orders and said that they would get back to us. We never heard from them. Maybe Hunter does good work, but it's surprising that they ever get that far, considering how they treat customers.

This was A+ service all around. We got a call back about an hour after leaving a message on Hunter's website. We scheduled for the following day and the technician was right on time. We had a broken spring. He reviewed that our 31 year old door needed more than the broken spring replaced, and recommended replacing the original (and worn out) cables, springs and pulleys, and to have safety cables installed. He did the job in about 45 minutes, then reviewed everything in detail with my husband, including what we should do to maintain the equipment. We think $270 is an excellent price for a quality job. And he did not try to sell us a new door or anything extra!

I would highly recommend Hunter Garage Door Services. As I was opening up my garage door to go to work, I heard a noise and noticed that the spring on the door was no longer attached to the pulleys. I did call several door repair companies and was not happy with them. These companies either put you on hold and/or you spoke to a computer or they would not give you any information without you giving them your full name and phone number or would not give you a price until they would come out even though I told them the issue. None of the above happened when I called Hunter Garage Door. Hunter Garage Door answered right away, did not put me on hold and scheduled my appointment that day working with me to accommodate my work hours. Eric, the repair person, had called ahead of time to give me the precise time he was going to be at my house. Eric was knowledgeable, explained everything and gave great customer service. He reviewed my entire system, made helpful suggestions, cleaned up the area of work and showed me when and how to maintain my doors and the entire system. I was very impressed and would nominate Eric to be the star repair person of the year. I will definitely use Hunter Garage Door Services again and ask for Eric.

The salesman did not turn up for the appointment.

Everything went incredibly smoothly.

They were absolutely fabulous and kind. They called when they were on the way and then after the service. They couldn't have been nicer. The gentleman's name was Dominic. I would recommend them as well.

He was wonderful and his name was Eric he was a very nice man. He explained everything to me. He was so polite and so attentive.

Took a while from order to install, wrong size storm door was ordered initially, so door had to be exchanged, one screen was bent so had to be exchanged. Eventually all worked out and we were happy with the products and the work that was done.

Fixed. Technician was not very friendly. Outside door openers (with code) are not working and I forgot to mention that. He did not check.

Dominic has come out twice for us and has been fantastic. The work is fabulous. He's very professional. He's knowledgeable about his job, he is a professional guy. My husband doesn't like strangers in the home, but says Dominic is a stand up guy.

The installer called about an hour prior to the scheduled install to clarify a mistake in the address. He arrived early, worked efficiently and quietly, and finished before the estimated time for completion. The new openers work very well, and this was well worth the expense.

Perfect someone was there to answer when we called made appt for next day. We had to cancel made appt for another day, Showed up on time did the job, and actually the door is working better than before the problem Was oiled and is much more quiet, Price very fair. Couldn't be more pleased.

Frank did a great job. He told me exactly what to expect and how much it would cost. He worked quickly and left the area cleaner than when he arrived. I wouldn't hesitate to hire the company again.

Estimate was given quickly and when we called back to say we were ready to order a door someone came right over with the contract and estimated install date. Door was ready to install a week early and we were very happy with the installation. We will be calling this company back to install an automatic opener as well as a new front entry door. Very happy!

It was a good experience from the first phone call until the job was done. They looked at the damage and gave me options to either just fix the damage or choose to replace the whole door (with plusses and minuses for each option). I chose to have the door replaced instead of replacing the panels. They did the job quickly and well. I would use them again and recommend them to others. Very nice to speak with on the phone and in person.

Although I was not a member of Angie's List when I contracted for this service, I felt that I needed to acknowledge the fine work that Hunter Door performed. The original doors were not a standard size. Hunter Door personnel measured the openings twice to ensure that the new doors would properly fit. The installation team did an excellent job removing the old doors; installing the new ones; and cleaning up when they completed the job.

Max from sales was very responsive to my calls and walked through with me all the price and quality options. He did not try to oversell me something that did not fit my needs or my budget. Dave the installer showed up promptly on the scheduled day and got right to work. He removed my old doors, installed the new ones, and cleaned up the work area. He then walked me through the operation of the doors and gave me tips on maintenance. Overall a very satisfying experience and I would recommend Hunter Door.

The sales rep came as promised, on time. He fully explained our options as well as pricing. Once accepted the proposal, the job was scheduled. Installers came on time, performed the work in a professional and careful manner. Cleanup was thorough, and the installer fully explained maintenance procedures and operation. The result is a first rate, attractive job. Hunter's high rating on Angie's List is definitely warranted.

The guys that came out to do the install were great. They were on time and completed everything in a few hours.

It went excellent. I highly recommend them.

It was half of what Sears was going to charge and they came out the same day which was great because our car was stuck in the garage. We couldn't get it up even with the latch. It usually can just pull by itself if we release that thing. We couldn't get it up that way at all. We were so surprised because we were expecting later in the week, but they came the same day. They were fast, courteous, and they were very reasonably priced.

Hunter provided quick service to assess the job, an accurate estimate for the work, and he did a fantastic job living up to the expectations I had given his reputation and rating on Angie's List. He came out after-hours one evening to confirm the quote (came himself even after a long day doing installations) and he also did the work himself. He held himself to be a true professional and delivered exactly what he promised. The work he did helped me sell my house, and I will hire him again when the time comes to replace my new home garage doors.

Estimate was the lowest and work was high quality. Installer arrived on time and finished exactly when he estimated.
