Be aware of this company. They are dangerous and unprofessional. Don't use their services you will regret it! Don't even let them near you and your family even with a fly swatter!!

The most recent experience with them was not good. For the last two months things have been extremely crazy with family problems and we forgot to pay our most recent bill. They were supposed to come out today but now we are leaving them because we have hornets and other bees and problems that need immediate assistance because they found bees nests and other insects in our home that they have not gotten rid of. In the last couple of weeks, we've had them in our house and have called them to come out. They finally set up a date for today then called us to cancel the appointment because they have not yet received our check. My second complaint is that they have come out and they have supposedly done the work but the problem persists and we don't think that they have adequately dealt with it because of the constant return of these insects. I am calling first because of the way we were treated because they called us and told us they hadn't received the check. It was Memorial Day and the mail is slow. I'm so angry at them because of their refusal to come out for one missed payment even though we put our check in the mail as soon as we caught the missed payment. I don't recommend them at all as a company to use due to our lack of resolving a serious problem.

DISASTER (to sum in one word). Approx. 2001, I had A Bell treat my home for termites. Each year I paid an annual maintenance contract fee (approx. $152) for annual inspections to ensure early detection, treatment and to prevent damage to my home. In March 2012, I started the process of refinancing my property. The house was rented to the same tenant for approx. 10 years. The appraiser noted significant termite damage and concerns of structural damage. The mortgage company contacted me (June 19, 2012) and told me that the house was not mortgageable (based on the termite damage as shown in the appraisers report) and that I had to have an immediate termite inspection, repair of the termite damage and a structural engineer report to express an opinion if the house was structurally sound. This was a complete surprise as to such extensive termite damage since I had contracted A Bell over the past 10 years for annual inspections and preventive treatments to avoid such a situation. I phoned A Bell customer service and they could not find a record of when the last time the house had been inspected. I requested several times for the principal / owner to return my phone calls and was told that he probably would not return my call and as a result all attempts were unsuccessful to resolve the gross negligence of A Bell.. After several months of no response to phone calls, certified letters, emails, I filed in civil court and obtained a judgement which was finally paid by their insurance. I STRONGLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS VENDOR

We were not satisfied!
Description of Work: We hired A Bell in 1989 to provide termite control services for our home in New Jersey, which was approximately 11 years old. For the next 24 years, we annually renewed the termite control contract. The company gave us verbal assurance that if we maintained the contract, which we did, we would be covered by an insurance policy should there be a need for repairs due to any structural damage caused by termites. Subsequent to the initial termite control contract, we hired A Bell to provide quarterly pest control services. We literally paid A Bell thousands of dollars for more than 24 years to provide pest control services. In preparation for selling our home in April 2013, the buyer used another company to conduct a termite inspection, resulting in a WDI Inspection Report indicating the need for termite/carpenter ant treatment as well as repair work from damage caused by the insects. After contacting A Bell, they sent a representative who issued a WDI Inspection Report, for which we were charged $240.75. That report from A Bell indicated there was visible evidence of wood destroying insects i.e. dead insects, insect part, etc. A Bell's report also indicated visible damage from wood destroying insects noted in one room. However, the report stated that no treatment was recommended and that the property was under a renewable termite warranty until 3/24/14. Due to the conflicting reports, our realtor attempted to arrange a meeting at our house with A Bell and the buyer's inspector. A Bell refused to participate in that meeting. Because of A Bell's refusal to cooperate, and in order for us to finalize settlement on the property, we had to hire third individual to repair & treat the property. Walls were removed and significant damage was found. The cost we incurred to repair and treat the property totaled more than $5,000. Because A Bell advertised on their website that "your total satisfaction is guaranteed", we expected A Bell to reimburse us for the costs we incurred, including the feel we paid to A Bell for their useless WDI Inspection Report. We spent the entire summer of 2013 on the telephone with A Bell trying to come to a fair financial resolution. We did send a certified letter A Bell's president, Angelo Valenti, on May 31, 2013, which was subsequently returned as unclaimed. We sent the letter again on June 17, 2013 by regular mail. Mr. Valenti left a voice mail message at our new residence in July 2013, stating that he was in receipt of our letter, wanted to discuss the matter further and that we should contact him at his office. Our phone calls to Mr. Valenti's office were never returned. During the next several months we did speak to Mr. Valenti's assistant, who finally told us in a November 2013 telephone conversation that A Bell was not responsible for any of the costs we incurred. Certainly no way for a company to treat it's customers. Especially when they advertise "your total satisfaction is guaranteed".

Initial work appeared to be good. However, 2 days after treating the nest the wasps were back. Called back company and they promptly sent a different exterminator out and he quickly realized that the initial work didn't work because the hive was not exposed and completely removed. Once this was done, problem solved.. I was impressed with the professionalism of Rich who knew what he was doing. Bottom line; spraying a chemical into the hole the wasps are using will not work if hive is not removed.

Great service and good results.
Description of Work: The most recent charge was for a requested spraying for ants, ticks and fleas, inside and outside, plus spraying in and around our shed in the back yard. They perform monthly spraying inside and out of my house for ants. They have also done exterminating for Yellow Jacket nests in the past. Customer service is very important to them. Whenever I have had any kind of problem between regular service they have always responded quickly. We had a serious Yellow Jacket problem for a few summers because they had burrowed so far down in the ground. A Bell came back several times and used different approaches until the problem was solved. … This summer I have barely seen a Yellow Jacket!

I called A Bell and they were able to come the next day, which was good. I hired them to trap the squirrels. The first visit went smoothly other than the fact that they gave me a 4 hour window when they would come, and then came half hour after the window. A few days after the first visit, when we hadn't caught any squirrels and I wanted to re-assess the location of the trap, I found it extremely difficult to contact the inspector who had set up the trap. A Bell basically did what they said they would - provided a trap and bait, and removed squirrels when we caught them, but they did not seem very knowledgeable about how to handle the situation, or different strategies. Also, they consistently showed up at the tail end or after the scheduled window had closed.
Description of Work: Provided trapping services for squirrels that had gotten into my house behind a wall.

They insisted on five hundred dollars down because they felt that a total of six traps would do the job. We noticed they only laid down one trap, and they did catch one squirrel, but after they came and took this one away, another came and stole the celery without getting trapped. We haven t seen a squirrel come to the trap since and are still waiting for them to call us back to do something about this.
Description of Work: A roofer was working on our roof and noticed a squirrel infestation. We called A Bell and they came out and set up one trap, using celery to attract them. They spent about an hour analyzing where the squirrels were coming from.
