Description of Work: They "videotaped" the inside of my sewer line from |The house to the street. I needed to know the cause of recurrent back-ups in the laundry drain line. Turns out that if I wanted a copy of the video, I'd have to pay through the nose - even with my own Thumb drive. Which I did - so I paid it. I am happy to get the information I needed - proving prior unscrupulous contractors were trying to rape me and sell services I did not need. The absence of fair warning that this was going to cost basically double what the "deal" was was annoying.

Description of Work: Sewer Rodding And Televising. Acceptably.

Description of Work: Dug up small area of front yard to remove and replace entire sewer line from the house to the street connection. Sewer line had backed up into the house a couple of times. The sewer line had massive root infiltration.

Description of Work: Sorry that it took so long to respond - my experience with Dutra Sewer Service was an interesting one. After several attempts to book a date/time, and only after Angie's list rep Chrissy Heeger reached out to them, was I able to finally confirm a date for service. Angie's list had offered a Big Deal w/ Dutra during the '13 holiday season; we have root infiltration in our sewer line at several points and I generally snake the line myself once a year. But since Dutra included a video inspection with their service, I thought it was a good time to hire an outside company and the $79 price was attractive. However, neither Angie's List or Dutra disclosed that the discounted price would only allow for limited service! Well, then it's not a discount, is it? And, this was conveyed to me at the time of service, not beforehand. Video inspection was only rendered at the beginning and was useless because the roots in the line prevented the camera from going beyond 10'. The service man (Kyle) then told me that because of the price, he'd only be able to perform the inspection once and pass the snake thru one time! He then proceeded to snake out the line. Which he did quite easily. When I asked if we could inspect the line AFTER he snaked it, he said that it would cost an additional $50. BTW, in the work description/bill he erroneously calculated my sewer line at 75'. It is just under 40'. If Angie's List is going to offer Big Deals or discounts, there should be full disclosure and the customer should know EXACTLY what service is or is not offered. In effect, they are not discounts at all but exactly what a customer should get: half of the service customarily provided.

Description of Work: Called for an inspection of my sewer line. The service rep was friendly and knowledgeable. I do have a potential problem and I am going to get further advice on how to handle it.

Description of Work: They fixed a leak in my waterline by replacing the water line from my house to the sewer. They did the job quickly and with minimum damage to my property. They were professional in all respects and did a superb job.

Description of Work: My home sewer line was severely backed up and clogged with root infiltration. Mike came by and quickly assessed the scope of work. I submitted a deposit and they began getting permits. Dutra didn't accept credit cards, so have your check book ready. I had to place a call to schedule the work, but it was smooth from there. Mike called the night before to confirm. His crew showed up early enough to actually begin the work at 8am. They were professional and hard working. They drilled a new hole in my foundation to reroute the line, dug a narrow trench to the sidewalk and curb where they needed to connect to the town. I was happy the trench was narrow, maybe 2 feet. Other estimates would have disturbed a much larger space. Dutra was mindful of my gutter drain which ran over the sewer line. They reconnected all the plumbing inside, connected it to a new PVC outside line all the way to the town, installing to clean outs outside the house. By 2:00, everything was cleaned up and back in place. A great job.
