He was supposed to install a steel support beam into our basement, as a previous contractor had cut into it to install duct work. He broke our bottom basement step when he came to assess the damage, and instead of repairing it for us, simply put a paint can under the step. Was difficult to pin down an actual day he was going to do the work. He delayed the day and made excuses for weeks, and on the day he was finally supposed to do the work, he never gave us a time. With my wife taking the day off and waiting for him, we eventually had to call around 2:30 PM to ask when he was coming. For over an hour and a half, he claimed he was on his way to the steel place to pick up the part, which he claimed to have ordered a week prior. I called the steel company myself, and was told that he had not ordered a part from them since November of 2014. When I confronted him with this information over the phone, he was very rude and acted unprofessionally at every step of the way. Since he lied to us and was never planning on coming that day, we found someone else to plan the work, and I told him to not bother coming. He sarcastically told me "THANK YOU" and hung up on me. Never use this man!
Description of Work: He did not do anything, but he was supposed to install a steel support beam.

When I spoke to Mr. Silva before he took the job, he said that after he gets all the permits to do the work, he would be done in 3 weeks. And that to get the permits would't take more than 2 weeks. That was back in February when I closed on my property. About 4 months have passed and the few jobs he was supposed to do are far from being done. At the time he was working on the property, I noticed that few of the details were not to my standards and I would liked to be involved choosing the details, including, door handles, toilet and even kitchen and bathroom tiles. I was never consulted before he bought them. I didn't approved them, therefore they should not be installed on my property. At some point, he was about to install the square tiles in the bathroom, to which I said, not. I don't want them square, I want them rectangular. At that point, he said that I was delaying his process. I rushed to the store and got the ones I liked. Really? Why didn't he asked me before what I liked to be installed? My last email was about the two electrical boxes that need to installed. 9 days later and still no reply. Since the work started, the headaches too. Is it EXTREMELY disappointing when you cannot communicate with someone making mayor changes to your property. It has been impossible to get a hold of the contractor to finish the work he started. I am extremely unhappy with his lack of communication. It has been very frustrating to work with Mr. Paulo. I understand now that it is my fault for choosing to work with someone who let me waiting twice after we have set up meetings at the property and never showed up. Still rescheduled an early Saturday meeting and still didn't showed up. At this point, I am about to get someone else to finish the work. Any suggestions are welcome. I still need the two electrical boxes installed.
Description of Work: As part of my 203K loan, I have chosen to work with Mr. Silva. He was supposed to upgrade the 2nd floor of my property including the electrical boxes, kitchen floor, counter top, 90% of my bathroom and installation of a hitter on a small bedroom.
