I got a price and didn’t realize that it was for sixteen hours of painting which I purchased. When they came, there were two painters but I didn’t realize that it was eight hours for each painter. So they had to come back the next day and I had to pay them extra money but it was because I didn’t read it correctly, it was not their fault. However the service was excellent, I have no complaints with them at all. I was happy with the price either. They were prompt, they did an excellent job and they were clean. They had to do a lot of sheet rack and sanding but they were very clean. I will certainly hire them again.

They did a very good job removing the wallpaper, refinished the wall and then painted it. We will definitely use them again in the future.

The crew that Gikas sent to do the work were prompt and they did the job faster than estimated. They were very neat and even came back to scrape some paint off the windows. I would certainly recommend them to others.

I got a quick response to my request for an estimate. Owner came to the house and provided the estimate within a short time. The estimate was very detailed. We used the provided color consultant and was very pleased with how helpful she was. We are entirely satisfied with the colors she suggested. The job was started within a short time of signing the contract and paying the deposit. The workers were friendly and hard working and completed the job working through the weekend in about five days. We are very happy with the results. While this was certainly not the low bidder, I think we got good value for the money.

They did an amazing job and worked fast. Both guys were efficient, thorough, and nice. Scheduling was easy. All I had to do was buy the paint.

sent an email through Angie's List twice. I gave my phone number and he had my email address. He did not have the courtesy to reply. It was a small job but did send emails to two others and they were either busy at this time but would do the job later in the year or did not work in the area. In fact, the company recommended someone to me.

Gikas provided exactly what was promised in the contract. They came, did the work that was supposed to be done, cleaned up and left. Their work was efficient and their workers were professional and responsive. What more could you want when hiring a contractor? I would definitely use them again.

Before I had hired Gikas, I had consulted with other contractors, but no one had the passion and vision that Gikas had. I couldn't have had a better experience having them as my contractor. The first thing they worked on was my roof. They gave me a very fair price, and completed the work when they said they would. They did an amazing job and their workers were very professional and courteous, and they preped so well there was minimal clean-up afterward. After the roof job, I was sold and hired them to do all of the renovations and painting in my house. George can just walk into a house, and into a room, and with total clarity, make suggestions of what can be done. They created a fabulous mud room and laundry room that didn't previously exist. They transformed my home while still keeping the integrity and style of my 1902 colonial. I love the intricate tile work they did in my three bathrooms, and the wood flooring they installed in my kitchen. Gikas was so helpful with suggestions of colors for paint too. I love neutral colors and I am not comfortable with rich 'real' colors but I gave his suggestions a try, and I fell in love with the outcome! I will always go to Gikas when I need work done in my home.

Gikas Painting has done amazing work for my home! I honestly can't say enough! The only place I go when I have a project ? small or large and they do it right the first time! George is an excellent designer and has wonderful ideas. Even his wife chimes in at times and gives great suggestions on remodeling also. I have been completely satisfied with his work and will not use anyone else. My former contractor rode by my home after George?s restoration was done, and he called me to say, ?Wow, I?m going to start doing work like that! ? The before and after pictures of my house tells the whole story. George redesigned the entire front of my exterior and brought it back to the original charm it once had. The carpentry was superb and the courtesy of the workers is great. He used good quality materials and always took the time to explain how the work was being done, never compromised on cheap materials, I really appreciated that. They were always on time and did excellent work when they got there. In the rare event that he had to come back an extra day or so, everything was done with care and extra attention to all the little details! He renovated my son?s house also, and now he is hooked. It?s difficult to find workers that take pride in their work and treat your home like it?s their own. Always giving more than expected every time. I couldn?t be happier with Gikas Painting and Restoration and highly recommend him and his crew, he is a very experienced contractor, George knows what he is doing and how to beautify a house! He is my contractor for life and as long as he is in business, I can depend on one-stop shopping with Gikas Painting and Restorations! I love my home now, it went from being the scruffiest house on the block to now the best house on the block! I have confidence that my home will look great for many years to come and George still stops by to offer me solid advice on what should be done next. He has vast knowledge on making homes beautiful again. There is still more work to do, and when the time comes, the only one I will let near my house is George! Next project - roof, kitchen and bathrooms, can't wait to see the magic! :-)

The workers were very professional and left the work area clean and neat. The job consisted of two groups the first did the repairs of the ceiling and the second person who did the painting was great. I was very pleased with the completion of the job that I will be using them again.

The work went very well. After calling George, and we arranged a time for him to review the job, I got an estimate within hours via email. I asked when it could be done and he told me the next week. They arrived on schedule and over the next few days methodically completed all of the work. The garage looks so much better now, and the deck is ready for summer. They were neat and even moved things off the deck when they began and replaced them when finished. There was no debris left on the site and it all looks good as new. I would definitely work with George and Diego again.

The service provided by Gikas went very well. After inspecting the roof, he told me the possible cause of a ceiling leak; which appears to be from the siding and not the roof. George recommended that I contact someone knowledgeable with windows or siding to repair the issue. This recommendation will, hopefully, save me money from repairing the roof.

From the moment I met George, the owner of Gikas, I knew I was in good hands. George has a special eye for aesthetics and what makes a home beautiful and balanced. He made some terrific recommendations and knew exactly what needed to be done to make the house stand out. I must say that hiring Gikas was one of the best decisions ever made for my house. The quality of work is impeccable. It is true craftsmanship that is hard to come by anymore. In fact, the handrails are so outstanding that I have hired Gikas to complete the rails around my porch.

Took a few days longer than I expected, but price didn't deviate. EXCELLENT quality work. This is the 3rd time I have used Gikas for short-term projects, and they have always done a superb job. Highly recommended!

I am very pleased with their customer service. The owner George came to the house himself very quickly and gave me a very fair estimate! I had them paint two rooms in my house and add some crown molding as well as make a few repairs to the roof because I am getting ready to sell this house. I wanted to make the rooms look bright and finished as well as make sure the roof was safe and secure!! The workers came and did the job very fast after I had accepted the estimate and worked extremely clean which was great being that I had my two little kids and wife in the house while they were working! I would recommend Gikas painting to any of my friends and family and know that they will do the right thing and work quickly, efficiently, and cleanly! George also gave me some great recommendation's to enhance the look of my house as I'm getting it ready for sale. he recommended to refinish the deck and cut a couple of over grown bushes that are in the front of my house. I am considering calling them to refinish my deck and some other exterior work on my home.

Excellent - Job was done quickly. Owner was back and forth checking on the job. No job changes or extras other than one we created. Installed some decorative trim work we purchased at no additional charge. Foreman was excellent. He talked things out with us, helped us find right color for front door. Also Owner provided a custom paint we found at no additional charge. Would definitely use them again.

The contractor dedicated two painters to do the job, with help from carpenters. They fixed the woodwork around te house and they painted very carefully.

He was the nicest man I have ever come across. He gave us such great advice as to why we should or should not do it. He was so informative, explained every little detail, and was so kind to us.

They emailed me with a message to call them. I called them twice, left to messages with the receptionist both times, and still have not heard back from them.

They did a nice job. They were very neat and professional. They were very good. Based upon other that had the job done by them, I went with the Gikas. The quality was very good. They were here on time all the time. I would use them again if I needed them.

These guys arrived on time and were extremely professional and courteous. I know these guys work around Montclair all the time, but this was my first experience with them. I have an old house and had I Gikas removed a section of wall that was plaster and the new finished wall is seamless - no bumps - no seams - just smooth and neatly done. Their painting work was also excellent. These guys are really professional and I will use them again in the future.

They did very well. I thought they were kind and thorough. The scheduling was very easy. Lovely interactions with them. The work they did turned out really well. I only had to pay extra for supplies. They came out to do the job a few weeks later due to us having the flu so we had to reschedule. They were very responsive.

It went okay. They delivered everything they said they would. They did the trim on my house. They did to much critiquing. did a little longer to get the job done and communication wasn't that great. They were cheap so price was great. The end product was awesome. They did do a great job. The trim looks nice and neat. The crew on site was friendly but getting them or knowing when they would be here was the problem. Repaired some rotten siding.
