Description of Work: Installation of double driveway initially went well. After several months, the driveway edge started cracking and falling apart along the entire length of driveway. It took quite some time, but Red finally sent a crew in to repair the cracking edges. He was not in attendance. Attempts at a "Repair" were made which included blow torching edges and and asphalt shoveled on leaving more gaps, uneven surfaces and holes which I found unacceptable. Promises were again made to repair after he returned from being in Arizona this past winter. Since my HOA does not allow for pavers or blocks to support edges, he promised he would come in and saw cut the edge and lay concrete under the grass line to support which would not be visible. Red did show up this morning (5.22.15) to again start repairs but the attitude was extremely antaganostic. All he repeatedly kept saying was "what do you want me to do?" and blamed people for Uturns on my driveway over the grass line and also blaming lawn mowers. The edges were also falling apart close to the top of the driveway near my garage door and nexxt to landscaping so I found that explanation unbelievable. I had an 20 year old driveway when I moved in which did not have these issues despite phantom u-turners and mowing services. He just kept asking over and over again "what do you want me to do?" and the only offer was the same saw cutting, but now the concrete would be visible and he kept insisting I wouldn't be happy and more "what do you want me to do". When I told him I wanted the edge straight and not crumbling, he accused me of yelling at him and abusing him. I never raised my voice...it was just not what he wanted to hear. His temper frightened me so I told him we were done with the conversation and thanked him for showing up. End of story. The driveway looks awful and I am being blamed for the awful edges and shoddy repairs. Even when I showed him that grass was growing through the asphalt, he said I didn't know what I was talking about. I'm no landscaper, but I feel comfortable with the fact that grass does not grow on asphalt. Photos are available upon request.

Description of Work: The driveway looked very nice right after they did it. Then it rained. There are two places on the driveway where the water is puddling up. When I showed this to my son who has been involved in construction he pointed out a seam that shouldn't be visable. The puddles are between the tires of where you car would be just before it enters the garage. I have called a number of times after red showed up on a dry day when i wasn't home. I am very disappointed. I also have a written two year guarantee. I did not want to put this negative review in

Description of Work: All About Asphalt dug up my old driveway and laid down a new asphalt driveway. Red, the owner, didn't take any shortcuts. He made sure all steps were complete before going on to the next. On day one after the old driveway was taken out stones were laid down for the foundation. Red told me to drive back and forth over the stones saying this was important for a solid footing. One week later he delivered more stones and again I drove over them pounding them in place. A few weeks later he came to lay the asphalt but determined that after much rain the ground was still too wet so he laid a few more stones down. Later that week the ground was finally dry and the asphalt was laid perfectly. My neighbors also commented on how great the driveway looked. These guys are pros. I highly recommend them.

+ 0 moreEverything seemed like a rush job. They made a lot of shortcuts. I had a driveway apron done and I was there to make sure they did it properly. They would have gone at an angle from the sidewalk instead of a square line if I wasn’t there to point it out. The job itself is holding up but the workers seemed very rushed.

However, when they came for the quote they were one time, price was right and they explained everything very well. If I needed just the driveway, I would of went with them.

+ -1 moreI called this company to get an estimate and possibly hire them based on the excellent reviews given to them. We made an appointement for Saturday between 9-10 am. They never showed up or called to reschedule. Business must be really good for them if they could afford to pass up on new business. Times is so precious when you work full time, especially on the weekends. I don't appreciate getting jerked around waiting for someone to show up. I have too much to do and too little time to do it in. If you can't come, then please call me and let me know. I would have rescheduled with you.

+ 0 moreIn May I called All About Asphalt for an estimate for both my driveways(one is about 160 ft.long, the other 70ft.). Red was dead on with the other estimates and had gotten great reviews on Angie's List so I hired him. In June he and his crew started work by excavating both driveways and putting down stone,with instructions to drive on the driveways for two to three weeks to compact it. About three weeks later Red and his crew returned and paved both driveways and they look great! By the way Red and his crew are polite, professional, and a great bunch of hard working guys(they did the actual paving in 90 degree weather). If I ever need asphalt work done again or anyone asks to recommend someone I would not hesitate to tell them to call All About Asphalt.

+ -1 moreBruce did an excellent job. He carefully prepared the surface and used a broom to spread the sealer which provides a thicker coating then spraying it on. I highly recommend this contractor, but you may end up with a bunch of dirty buckets if you don't reach an agreement ahead of time. Bruce objected strongly when I wouldn't let him leave the emply buckets for me to dispose.

+ 0 moreCalled back promptly, was on time for the initial project review and estimate, estimate was in the range expected, the crew arrived on time, they worked very hard. Allowed 2 weeks for everything to settle, came on time to install the new asphalt which was proceeded by a second delivery of blue stone base. The owner and crew worked very efficiently, I monitored the entire process, anything I asked to be done they very quickly responded to. Red's estimate and recommendations were perfect, I am extremely pleased with the job they did!

+ -1 moreMy old driveway was in horrible shape - not just cracks and potholes, but big roots pushing up in several places. I got quotes from several other contractors who tried to convince me I could just lay down a few inches of asphalt on top and it would be fine. But "Red" from All About Asphalt took the time to explain why that's a "penny wise, pound foolish" solution. He said the *right* was to do it is to remove everything, cut the roots, and start with a new, solid base layer of stone. Before hiring All About Asphalt, I drove around and looked at their previous work. Some driveways they did 5 years ago still looked new! Between that and the clever company name(!), I decided to hire them. The crew showed up on the scheduled date and removed the old driveway (and roots) and set the block in place. They laid down the new stone, and Red explained he wanted to wait a few weeks before laying the asphalt to give the base time to be fully dry (because of the cracks I had, the dirt underneath was wet). A few weeks later, the crew came back to lay and roll the new asphalt. They did a professional job and it was clear they paid attention to even the smallest detail. Without hesitation, I would recommend All About Asphalt to other homeowners.

Description of Work: They paved my daughter's driveway in a new home they purchased. I checked with manmy PAVING Companies and few, if any returned my calls. when they did, their estimate was sky-high. Don of "ALL ABOUT ASPHALT" always returned calls, came to look at driveway to provide estimate, and started the job when he said he wood. His work was fast and very neat and cleaned everything up after the job was completed. Don communicates very well with his customers and I was surprised how cooperative trustful he was to deal with. I would highly recomment his company to others for ASPHALT WORK. He does nothing but asphalt and ahs probably done it a thousand time is my guess. Thanks for the great job and I hope others call you often.
