Was able to reach Mr Lombardi right away and he came out to do an estimate the next day. The weather was not good for paving for many days, but he stayed in contact to keep me updated on when the job could be started. His crew was courteous and careful not to disturb the surrounding lawn.

This company is courteous respectable and on time. They were professional and finished the job in a timely manner also offered tips and advice on how to maintain the driveway

Donald Lombardi and his team did a fantastic job. The work was done quickly and professionally. We discussed what we wanted, listened to his suggestions and made our decision. They cleaned up thoroughly when finished and it was as if they had not been there except for the satisfaction of a job well done.

The existing asphalt surface was prepared and new layer of asphalt was added. The preparation was done on a separate day, according to company recommendation, and included fixing problem areas, removing tree roots in several places and installing underground pipe under the surface of the driveway and connecting it to the existing downspout from the gutter to prevent water spilling on the driveway from the gutter. All work was done thoroughly, timely and with good care. The owner, Red, was professional and honest. The new driveway looks good.

Red was excellent, it's apparent he's been in the business along time. Work was done professionally and promptly. He answered all my questions and his price was great. I would absolutely recommend his services.

He pave the driveway along with 7 parking spots. He is very professional with reasonable price and did an excellent job. I also used his service to pave another driveway in New Brunswick, NJ several years ago where he had to remove a big tree trunk. He did an excellent job. I have no complains and no problem with that driveway after so many years. I will have no hesitation to recommend his service to anyone who has similar need.

This is a guy that has been in the business for many years. He has a great crew able to be left to the work and see it all done right. I would recommend this company any time.

This is for a small 300 sq. feet driveway which was in bad shape and needed complete removal, and new installation. Pros: They were very reasonable with their price, did a good job with the actual driveway, and belgium block installation, and were quick to respond with the quote. Cons: The driveway looks good, but when they installed the belgium block, they dug out the lawn on the either side on of the driveway and left all the dirt, and dugout lawn as is. They told me that they would lay it and clean it all up when they come to install the rest of the driveway, but never did it. They just spread the dirt all over the side of the lawn spoiling even the good lawn. Also, instead of installing the belgium block the same day when they removed the old driveway as promised, they did not come by for almost another week and half.

Working with Red and the men who installed my driveway and paver walkway was great. I would have given him an A but I was a little bit disappointed in a couple aspects of the job. One of my first requirements was that no water flow into my garage after the new driveway was poured. Red said the new driveway would be pitched away from the garage. Unfortunately, I still get water in my garage after they completed the installation of my driveway. The driveway also has a few "puddling" areas in the driveway and it is not one color. There are different shades of black in the driveway. Hopefully after time or after sealing the driveway next year the different shades of black will disappear. Even after these issues, I would still recommend All About Asphalt.

Day one they can and prepped the site. Day two the started with the initial dirt and then the gravel prior to that I had him extend the patio so that I could have more living space which he did. The drainage flows away from my house giving me a drier foundation! And then it rained a couple of days and the next dry day they were out to finish the project!

Bruce was very responsive to my e mails, stopped by the house to check out the problem we were having with a hole that had developed in our year old driveway (which the original contractor, despite repeated calls, never repaired), came by when he said he would, sawed out and patched the hole, and seal coated the driveway. We're not sure whether the fix is permanent (there might be a water issue under the driveway) but I certainly would call him again if the issue arises (it might need further investigation) We agreed that the best approach would be to fix the hole and the watch to see if it recurs.

It went well, they did a nice job, clean and professional. Left no mess and cleaned up when they were done.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS GUY...Donald "Red" Lombardi / All About Asphalt! There were quality issues immediately upon completion of the job. He ran out of asphalt and "patched" a 7X2 foot section and said it would "blend" in six months. That never happened. In fact, it worsened. And other areas of the driveway began to crack and crumble within months of being paved. I called him within the guarantee period, but the guarantee was worthless because he didn't honor it. I called him about it, but he didn't return calls. I emailed, but he wouldn't respond. I sent certified mail to his business address at 1134 River Road , Old Bridge, but the U.S.P.S. said there was NO SUCH ADDRESS. I found another address on Angie's list and sent certified mail to him at that address. He didn't accept the mail and left it unclaimed at the Post Office. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but "Red" didn't respond to the BBB investigator. The BBB closed the case due to no response from contractor (see the BBB web site. It's posted). Couldn't find this guy for months. Finally, after filing a complaint with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, I got a call. Red said he'd fix everything within a week. That never happened. He made an insignificant fix to a small corner section, but refused to do anything more. He told the Consumer Affairs Investigator that he would not be returning to my house and I cold take him to court. So i did. The case was schedule to be heard 20 Jan 2015. After many long months Mr. Lombardi finally had to answer for his (in)actions in the NJ Superior Court, Special Civil Part. So, unless you have the time, will and energy to fight with this contractor, all the way to court, in order to have your case settled, pick another contractor!

The contractor was professional and did an excellent job. I will need additional work and will call this contractor without hesitation.

I checked out this business on-line and the Better Business Bureau has 3 complaints listed against it. In addition there are quite a few "F" ratings in Angie's List. Not sure how that all averages out to the "A" rating listed on his profile with the green star next to the business.

I spoke to Don Lombardi by phone and got an estimate and then scheduled the job. I went with this company based on the good reviews. After the old asphalt was removed, I was surprised when he said he would have to charge an additional $247 because the asphalt was thicker than he expected, and he had to pay for a double load for disposal. He said it would be about a week to 10 days before he would return to re-pave. We actually waited from 8/7/14 to 8/25/14. They did a good job, but not exceptional. I think some of my neighbor's drives have a smoother, more uniform look. But overall, the edges are tight and well matched in height to the existing concrete sidewalk and garage apron and I'm satisfied with the work. Don is very knowledgeable and provides good advice on how to maintain the drive and if and when to use a sealer for extra protection.

This was my first experience with an Angie's List provider and also a Big Deal so I wasn't sure what to expect. The provider got back to me initially very quickly but then we had some problems reconnecting and there was a bit of back and forth to get all the details in place. Also, initially, I didn't get a good feeling because Red (the provider) expressed concern about my location - I reminded him his big deal said Monmouth County. From that point on, we got along very well and ended up having a wonderful working relationship and experience. I was surprised to be asked to provide the pavers but Red said I would probably get a better price than he would - that actually turned out to be true at the place I purchased the pavers from but it isn't true always so do your homework. His workers were prompt and were astounding and outstanding! They promised the work would be done in 2 days - it was done in 1.5 days. The quality of work is beautiful! These guys care about the work they do. At the end of the job, they actually took some of my cement blocks I had hanging around and finished another area adjacent to the paver project just to make the area look good! I was overwhelmed - they did not have to do that but Red explained it by saying - they are professionals and care about aesthetics. They were neat, cleaned up at the end of the first day and at the end of the job. They were pleasant and easy to talk to when my opinion was necessary and always polite. I would absolutely recommend All About Asphalt. I rated an A overall - I don't have a lot of experience with the pricing of these types of projects but I think it was good value for the money.

Red, the owner is very friendly and informative. He is old fashioned and set in his ways. while other contractors promised to get the job done in couple of days, Red was adamant that once he dug out the existing asphalt it has to settle for 2+ weeks before laying the new asphalt. His price was reasonable and from talking to him he seemed to know what he was doing. Happy with the job. I was expecting the new driveway to be as smooth as a newly laid carpet, but that is not the case. you still see asphalt / stones embedded in it. once it is settled, i am planning on buying couple of cans of asphalt sealer from home depot and reseal it to give the smooth surface look.

We contacted Don based on the positive reviews on Angie's List. We requested an estimate to have our driveway sealed. We moved into our home 2 years ago and we could tell that the driveway had not been maintained. Coupled with the horrible New Jersey winter of 2014, we figured it was needed. Don came as promised and left an estimate and informed us how the job would be performed. He was very professional and thorough. Don's employee called us the week before to let us know that they would be getting to us that week. Sure enough, we were put on the schedule for Saturday 5/24/14. The two men arrived right on time and did a great job sealing the driveway. It looked great. Unfortunately, later in the day we got an unexpected downpour. It washed away much of what they did leaving the cracks exposed. We called Don that Monday and explained what happened. He wasn't surprised based on the torrential rain that fell. He promised to have his men return to fix it. About two weeks later we got a call from the same gentleman who sealed it the first time and he told us he'd be there the next morning at 8am to reseal and that the weather looked ideal. Sure enough, this past Saturday, the two men returned and RESEALED the ENTIRE driveway. They did an awesome job. They were men of their word and did not half-@$$ the job. We were very impressed and very pleased. I greatly appreciated the honesty and integrity of Don and his employees. It is rare these days. We look forward to using them again in the future.
