Steve came by and worked with my on budget and time. He had it done in 3 work days. The deck gets lots of complements. The little details from the way the railings went up, to the hand rail work just made it. Great Job Steve.

Unfortunately, this provider was EXTREMELY difficult to reach. I had to call several times to get a return call even before provider came out to our house. After the work needing to be done was reviewed, Steve never returned my calls nor provided an estimate. I can only imagine what would happen if I had an issue with the work. My advise would be to STAY AWAY from this contractor. There are plenty more who need work and are willing to follow through.

When I joined Angie's List it was for a plumber and a contractor. Neither company called me back and I reviewed both as an F. I'm beginning to think I should quit Angie's List. I can get frustrated on my own for free.

He showed up to give me information and to assess the job of replacing my deck rails and skirting and never came back or responded to phone calls.

There was a lot of wall damage and a previous water leak in the ceiling and they did a great job repairing everything. The painting turned out awesome and they were very responsive to my need to get it done as soon as possible. Steve and Joe and awesome to work with and I will definitely call them again.

The owner, Stephen, was polite and responsive to my emails. A written estimate was provided within a day or two of coming out to evaluate the job. This was a two day job. The first day to repair the wall, second day to sand and paint. Contractors were on time and courteous. The job was done well. I would definitely recommend them and would call them again if needed.

Steve & Joe are the BEST!!! Professional and super friendly to work with, an overall outstanding experience. Always very responsive to my calls..text or emails!! These guys know their business and were very helpful in making sure I got exactly what I was looking for, and within budget! This project came with many unexpected challenges, but Steve & Joe handles every one without even breaking a sweat. Everything looks great, I couldn't be happier. I have been using SMS for over 20 years and they are the only General Contractor I will use and refer to my family & friends. Thanks again Guy's for another Job well done!!

These guys are awesome and I was happy with the professionalism of their work and the price they charged for a small job. I live in a Condo and there was leak above the the washer-dryer (2 in 1) unit. I turned off the water and got the help of my father-in-law to move the washer-dryer. Moving the washer-dryer was not easy - it is very bulky, it is in a closet and the hallway is very narrow. After some serious wiggling, lifting and pushing we got it out of there. I removed the half broken dry wall and the broken flex hose. I saw the hole in the, where it was bent. Water to the condo had to be shut off, so I needed someone asap. My uncle recommended the plumber from SMS. I called him and he came in the same day during the night. He cut off a portion of the old pipe and replaced it with a new one soldering it with L shaped joints to create the bend, instead of bending the pipe. Steve, came in the next morning. Since it was just a washer-dryer closet, Steve recommended just a drywall, plaster & primer is fine. Steve put in the drywall and then called his brother to do the plaster work, since he does it better. I appreciated the attention to detail for a washer-dryer closet. The plastering work was amazing. After they finished with the wall, they cleaned up the area. As hard as it was too remove the washer and dryer it was even harder to get it back in and get all the connections. The guys attached a new flex hose, water pipes, power supply and carefully without damaging the unit or the side walls put the unit back in the closet. After they were done, they cleaned up the area. The price was more than fair. Very friendly and easy to talk too. Definitely recommend them!

I hired SMS Contracting to re-do the main bathroom in our colonial. SMS was referred to me by an Angie's List electrician. The electrician had 100+ A grades so I didn't think he would steer me wrong. SMS came over to check out the job and provided the estimate. The price was toward the lower range of the five estimates I had received. The estimate was written down and listed the work to be done plus a shopping list of all the materials I needed to provide. These are great guys. Pleasant, professional, and not so bad to talk with. I tell you, Joe would have kept coming back until we were finally happy. I gave them a B on responsiveness only because they can get busy and sometimes it's tough to reach them. I'm just being truthful on that point, but to be fair we had a hurricane come though in the middle of our remodel. Even if you don't live near Somerset, they're like local guys you've known forever.
