John arrived on time (actually, a little early), and did the annual A/C startup. Because I mistakenly thought we had extra filters on hand, he had to return later that day after getting some new filters for us. Again, he was on time. The major benefit to this visit, over and above Marcketta's usual punctuality, pleasantness, and tidiness, was that John happened to notice a gap in our roof where the flashing around the main vent had worn away and the vent pipe was improperly supported. He told me right away, and, per his recommendation, I immediately called the plumber and roofer. Because of John's attention to detail, he saved us from a major headache b/c we probably wouldn't have noticed the problem with the main vent and the roof until it was too late and we had serious water damage. I should also mention that Marcketta has helped us in the past when our furnace broke in the coldest part of winter and we had a new baby in the house. They did an emergency repair, gave us some advice on dealing with insurance, and really helped us out of an uncomfortable situation.
